      For me she isn't developing that much. That said I kinda abandoned her side quest when she wants to talk to the inquisitor, since afaik the only way to do it is to give up the macguffin, which I feel my character would never do and would be a gross betrayal of trust toward all other teammates.

      @PointySuperman Год назад +7

      @@littlejohnny41gotta push back a bit, then agree to go in and kill the person in the artifact, then not do that, and convey the information to her in the astral plane. Also letting her take the lead in githyanki related conversations leads her to coming to her own conclusions about her people and what’s actually going on. It’s actually pretty cool that you can trust characters to be diplomatic and make logical decisions when it really matters.

    Excellent interview! Devora Wilde is amazing. There are some incredible characters in this game but Lae'zel is my favorite out of all not just the playable characters but EVERY character in the game. My day one play-through was a lawful good paladin who clashed with Lae'zel on just about every issue possible but despite the conflict I fell in love with how this alien looked, sounded, and evolved over the course of the story.
    The writing was impeccable but the true magic was how Devora sold all the chks, istyks, ghaiks, and other bizarre alien language ticks which somehow just felt natural by the end of the game. I also couldn't agree more with Devora that divisive characters can sometimes be the most interesting ones to interact with as they can actually challenge your beliefs or at least make you think about each choice from more than one perspective. Dan, if you're reading this, thanks for the best BG3 cast member interview I've seen yet!

      She is literally like hitler. She believes her race is superior in every way than the other races. She also believes every race deserves to die because they are not equal to her race. She is also really big into slavery and believes the strong (her race) deserve to control the weak (every other race that isnt her). If you romance her/befriend her, all you do is convince her that you are as strong as her race. You become an exception meanwhile her personality is the same as hitlers. Sure, they can have personal connections, but they still believe in mass slavery and genocide. She loves it anytime you do quirky things like committing mass genocide and murdering children. As someone on the spectrum who have trouble reading facial expressions I love when people have these exaggerated facial expressions which makes it a lot easier. Also because I never do them myself. My wife has to keep saying “pretend you are happy” “pretend you love me” because I fail to emote and I’m not even realising it. Being able to be so expressive is impressive for me. She seems very happy and funny and I’m more interested in the character after watching this interview.

    Lae’zel is my favorite character, everyone loves Karlach but I can’t even drop lae’zel to try her out. She has this contrast of tough and gentle that really hits for me.

    Female Worf if he was raised by the bloodthirstiest Klingons. She did great especially while pregnant, wow!

      Also like Worf in that they're sort of... actually the fearsome and honorable exemplars of what their cultures are "meant" to be like, and their stories are to some degree about them being let down HARD by the reality of those cultures and their leaders.

    Honestly, i cant tell if its a mocap difference or what but the mocap for Lae'zel was so spot on, the facial expressions and movement were perfect!

    Started second playthrough, still with Lae'zel, Shadowheart, and Karlach in the team...
    edit: Can you get Raphael's actor? I love his character so much (even if I kicked his ass in one of the most epic boss fights of the year).

    The more of these cast videos I watch, the more I want to play this game. Sadly I can't afford it. Damn you, living expenses!!! I'd play this game like 5 more times. At least.

    For some reason I remembered her VA work in Phoenix Point. She voices a character who is kind of like Vlaakith, ironically.

    To Devora looking like Lae'Zel:
    Of course it isn't 100% but her eyes (like was mentioned) are similar but overall it seems like her overall facial shape and the slight uptilt of her nose give a feel that her face was taken to match Lae'zels.
    This holds true for Shadowheart and her VA as well in my opinion. Not a 1 to 1 comparison, but taking a rough outline of the VAs' faces and then throwing some artistic influence in definitely seems to be the case here

    Devora, I must admit, I thought Lae'zel was a very interesting character, well written, typical of her culture, then realising her culture and her leaders are not what she thought.
    And your interpretation is TOP!!!!! Absolute Chef's Kiss! And listening to your voice here and now, you are SO different to Lae'zel! That means you're a great voice actress. Well done you!
    PS: Love figs!!! I live in the UK too and I'm due a visit to my home country, Spain, soon, and I'm going fig-picking too!!! They're due in September!
