Thanks for the Helpful Information Sir. Just wanted to add some additional helpful information for your viewers. The DS2501 chip you have shown in the diagram can be purchased for different wattage levels. Replace the component with a new DS2501 of the specific wattage you want the laptop to recognise charger to be. Laptop will read the new wattage information from the new component. Hope it helps.

If you would have done a bit of googling, you would have found that Dell barrel jacks do not obtain a presence signal id via a resistor value. HP and Lenovo use resistors. Dell's id is formed via a Dallas chip (looks like a TO92 transistor) that transmits one wire serial data

thanks for a wonderful explanation on the video. ... soo.. on dell laptops (2020s and newer) , theres no way a 12v to 19.5v dc to dc buck converter would work . i dont know what to do with the 3rd pin so i didnt used, and now, it just shows connected not charging lol.

Unfortunately, that doesn’t tell us how to trick it, only how to repair it
I’m curious if you can just connect the third wire to negative, i’m saying that it is negative however, I don’t have continuity with the other negative

CAN, you just supply 19V to the first Mosfet to bypass the Chip and push power button? OR does the chip also turn on the super IO ect and thus the M/B wont work ? Another trick haha is to supply the battery with power directly to the batteries and then the laptop will work as no chip charger circuit is in play.

@@diymariuselectro This is if you are desperate to get laptop working or it has some ungodly charger or this dell chip thing and you too cheap to buy another correct charger!! You can remove battery and drill carefully into both ends to access the pos and neg ends and then using bench power supply charge up battery using correct V for that battery and then put it back and run on that power OR you can solder in wires and connect spare power or charger that is right voltage and run continuously. Downside.. You have opened battery so leakage , fumes ect can leak out so safety BUT if you only doing this temp to get back data or unplug!!! when not in use, that would be SMART!! Theres other ways to power on the rails of the laptop and bypass the power input section but you have to know what you are doing there as easy to damage . I was asking if the dell chip is only a link in power supply chain or its testicles go to the "turn on chips" ,Bios, PCH, SIO ect and thus very messy to get around although it can be done if you have schematic and experience in circuits. .. The battery plug in idea is a rare situation when you cant get the board going for whatever reason but you need to get laptop on what ever it takes. totally safe as you are putting energy into the battery cells and then they pass through protection circuit and sense then into laptop so safety is still there. Just have to know nominal V and max so you dont overcharge the cells as you are directly charging them from the sides. 3.7-4.2 V but you have to multiply how many in series end to end to then apply 11V , 15v or whatever is correct. DONT do unless you understand these little cells and how they multiply to get to V you need to apply.

Are the voltage measured with multimeter result is the same as written in the charger specs ?
I have PA-9E 240W charger (seller said it's from Alienware laptop). It's written 19.5V, but only 19.08V when measured with multimeter. Is the ID Pin controls the voltage outputs too? Or is it just defective component inside?
