Let me give you my honest experience staying in this room type and how we found our stay...
    POSITIVES
Location - Our room was on Alcantara Bridge which is near Tempo Buffet Restaurant for Breakfast & Lunch plus the Aqua Park is on this section of beach so ideal if you have children
Comfortable bed and plenty of space for a family of 3
Large Bathroom with a lockable door but separate Shower and Toilet areas for privacy
Double sinks with great lighting and lots of storage for clothes
House Keeping do an excellent job of cleaning the villa
You can request whatever your preference is for the mini bar (which is included in your package) - if you prefer wine, beer or soft drinks just ask
Snack of nuts and Toblerone where left every day
Pool Towels Provided in your room but you don't need to take these with you as everywhere on the island has them
    Our room was quiet
Shampoo, Conditioner, Shower Gel & Moisturiser included and replenished daily
    Safe & Torch within wardrobe
Coffee making facilities, water, hairdryer, mini fridge, torch, ponchos, umbrellas and toiletries in the room - all free of charge
Brilliant air-con and a ceiling fan
Sockets fit UK Plus so no need for adaptors
    TV has Netflix
Balcony is big enough for the 3 of use to sunbath, use the pool and slide
Steps down into the lagoon for snorkelling
    NEGATIVES
Weather was very windy during our 12nt stay in July meaning that the deck gets covered in spray water from the pool so not comfortable to sunbath with it constantly blowing at you
Sea was very choppy and although I watched every day I only saw a few fish and no rays or turtles like others did off of a different island bridge
We didn't use the deck/pool and slide as much as we thought because of the rain and wind that we experienced (of course a different time of year it would be fantastic)
The pool had several tiles missing and very sharp edges - I know they are rectifying this (August 2022) so hopefully going forward this will not be an issue as I did cut my toe badly on a sharp tile edge
They were running out of umbrella and ponchos so best to keep inside the room as if left on the holder outside they may go walk about!
I have stayed in a beach villa with private pool previously at a sister island and personally I think I preferred that but I think that is purely based on the weather we had and time of year we travelled. This is a fantastic resort and the Lagoon Villa with pool and slide is brilliant.
If you are thinking of going then I would highly recommend and hope you have a great holiday at Siyam World.

    Hey! Lovely video 😊
I had a question regaeding the lagoon we see here. How deep is it?? Asking as I need to know if someone like me (who, sadly, doesn't know how to swim, can actually stand in those waters. Thanks in advance! ❤

The water off the water villas is deep so wouldn’t be suitable but the water from the beach stays fairly shallow and you can see sharks in this depth

Hi, the tides do change so we were carful to go in when it was deeper just be sure we wouldn't touch any coral. It is deep you will need to be able to swim (life jackets can be worn)

We just got back. At low tide, you can expect somewhere 6-7 feet; high tide is a different story! You got to know swimming.

Hi, Could you please help me understand how water Villa and Lagoon Villa different?

    • @SavillesTravels
      @SavillesTravels  Год назад +6

My knowledge is that the lagoon villas are in the shallow water and have the bathroom at the back of the villa with the bath in the centre of the bathroom (no view). This is what we had.
The water villas have a darker blue slide and are in deeper water and are only slightly bigger floorplan
Ocean villa I’ve heard are in a quieter area at the end of the island with more marine life and have the bathroom to the side and the bath tub is in front of a window looking out to sea plus the deck pool is a little larger (I’d book one of these if the price isn’t crazy amounts more!)
Reef villa are larger with better access to the reef - don’t know much more about these I’m afraid
I hope that helps a little

@@nupurdayal7296 I saw what i believe to be Water villas with the dark blue slide and they have just ocean all around nothing interrupting views etc. these were further away from where we were and the main water sports / buffet so prob quieter. In saying that we were very quiet in our lagoon villa in Alcantara Bridge. People we met were on Sydney Harbour bridge and saw a lot more sea life than we did including sharks and rays. Our weather was pretty poor during our stay though so a bit unlucky with that.

@@nupurdayal7296 our lagoon was on the left of Alcantara bridge and just looked out to sea so good view. In the right they look over the water sports lagoon and aqua park

Let me know sea plane timings

    • @SavillesTravels
      @SavillesTravels  Год назад

We waited a couple of hours when we arrived in Male. On the way home it was delayed a couple of hours. I think this is fairly normal. We’ve had it faster before with a wait of only 40 mins. I’ve also experienced a seaplane not being able to take off and when it did we had to land in the sea near another island and get a boat and abort journey until the weather improved and we missed our plane home! I think it’s very mixed but just go with the flow. There is an airport lounge with food, drinks and wi/fi for whilst you are waiting. The seaplane delay going home was informed to the resort so we were able to stay and continue the use of the all inclusive for lunch

@@dishagandhi-ht6mu Hi, We really enjoyed it BUT it doesn't have the 'Maldives' feel like other islands we have stayed on. It's because it's so large and it was very wet and windy when we stayed in July. We have been to the Maldives in May before and had good weather. The restaurants and drinks are amazing and lots to do for children. For me I would chose another island if going again as I prefer a smaller island and the snorkelling has been better elsewhere. It is a fantastic resort though, it depends on what you want
