the blackwoods are the coolest house IMO. they started out in the north as kings but the starks pushed them to the riverlands. their feud with the brackens is legendary and hilarious
oh and daemon is the way he is because culturally he was the last of the true dragonlords of old valyria. he follows the valyrian belief that they're almost demigods, more than human. his allegiance is to the memory of valyria more than anything else
