  • Rumman has had his driving licence just 6 months, so lets see how he's driving and wether he would pass his driving test now.
Rumman learnt to drive with family and did a few lessons with me and passed his test first time, so this will be an interesting drive.

For the first serious, feel like he’s using the brake and accelerator almost like a switch, constantly switching between the two. Meaning brake lights keep going on and off. One, it’s not efficient and two, people behind are gonna be confused with regards to the brake lights. Just letting go off the accelerator should be enough to bring the speed down from say 32 or 31 to a 30.

@@thet1013 You have no idea how bad my driving instructor was. During lessons he would be on his phone with minimal prompts and commentary. He was constantly late and often cancelled lessons on short notice. Lessons were often cut short because he was late to my lessons (I had paid full price). Even on test day we were almost late to the test centre because he didn’t know whether my test was going ahead. His excuse was “You didn’t book any lessons with me prior to your test”. It was only until I messaged him he came to pick me up for the test.

A lot of you forget or just never seem to learn that 2 year rule with Penalty Points, you get 6 points you can lose your Licence, and if that does happen, you're going to find your Insurance premiums increase massively. I'd also remind you too fast and too close, you can end up with not enough time to deal with a situation if it suddenly occurs. If He's doing that in the 20's 30's and 40's he'll be doing it in the 70's and that's when every yard and every second really does count and make the difference between life and death.

I am missing signs, usually speed signs and today missed the one way sign and got a serious for not driving in the right hand lane because I was turning right at the bottom of the road (missed the sign hence why I stayed left). I know it’s not something that you can ‘teach’ but do you have any advice on how I fix this. I’m trying my hardest and don’t want to fail due to my lack of awareness. It isn’t due to lack of concentration because I’m concentrating HARD but focusing on road markings and what lane I’m supposed to be in is causing me to miss important things. I did well in my hazard perception for my theory too so I don’t know why I’m struggling with this 😢 Any advice please I have two weeks to try and fix this 🙏🏼

Hi there. I am an experienced HGV driver from Durham. I drive between 2000 to 2500 miles per week all over the UK. I be interested in seeing how I would fair in a car mock test. I have had my car license since Feb 2009, HGV class 2 license since May 2022. I have also driven taxis, plenty of vans, I pulled caravans and trailers with cars and vans. I also rode a motorcycle a few feet into a brick wall back in 2008. I also hear repeatedly that HGV drivers are the worst car drivers.
Would you be interested in giving me a mock test? If so, how much would the fee be? I am happy to attempt the mock test in London and be on camera.

Rumman appears very competent, but there's something quite worrisome in his approach to driving. Let's talk straight: many people abuse speed limits, that's a fact. Fortunately, nowadays that's more difficult to do, because traffic surveillance is much easier and can be delegated to software, but still you can get away with quite a lot, so people do bend the rules in that regard. And yes, many people have this inherent desire to be efficient, to just get things going. But here Rumman knew it's a mock test, i.e. you play pretend trying to pass a test. Is the priority on a test to get a shift on? Obviously, no. And yet, this seems to be the main characteristics of his driving: getting a move on.
It's insane to be driving with your right foot constantly switching between the accelerator and the brake! If you do that, you're doing things _very wrong_. In normal driving, you should only find yourself needing to use a brake when stopping, approaching a junction or when going down hill (although most of the time the engine braking should sort you in the latter case). Rumman footwork is more like what you'd expect to see in motorsports.

At 13:00 No. If he kept his speed he should be fine, at that Zebra crossing there is a central island meaning that it is treated as 2 separate crossings. The pedestrian was only on the opposing side. The highway code rule 20 states:
"Where there is an island in the middle of a zebra crossing, wait on the island and follow Rule 19 before you cross the second half of the road - it is a separate crossing."
    Rule 19 states:
"Remember that traffic does not have to stop until someone has moved onto the crossing."
So no, he didnt have to stop at all as the pedestrian was on another separate crossing.
This pedestrian did not have priority here at all.
So at 23:53 "You definitely needed to stop for her." No... No he didnt.
