- Bandai Finally said it. They think vegito is stronger than gogeta, or at least thats what these what ifs from raging blast seem to say! What else will I be able to find in this great old dragonball z game, I mean these what ifs are definitely the best part!

Read the DB multiverse manga it has a what if story where Vegito doesn’t separate in Buu’s body by keeping the barrier up and proceeds through life as Vegito.

A nice little tidbit about Gogeta and Vegito (at least in the English dub) that I like is that when Gogeta speaks, Goku's voice is more prominent and vice versa with Vegeta's voice for Vegito.
Gogeta also refers to Goku as Goku, while Vegito refers to him as Kakarot.

@@nathanreynolds5474 Not anymore with the Blue version of Gogeta anymore. In the newer games, he just sounds too similar to Vegito. I still think Gogeta’s BT3 voice was the best. He sound so much more like Goku in that game while Vegito sounded so much more like Vegeta.

The What-Ifs are probably the best part of Raging Blast (1). Glad you’re doing them Doto!
Nah the best part of Raging Blast is the Transformations. They use the actual anime progressions. Frieza goes from 1rst to 2nd by getting buff from his upper torso first then grows his legs and arms to match his chest and shoulder size. And the others all have accurate transformation effects

The retcon was actually just that the potara is only temporary if it's 2 mortals that are fusing. The Vegito being too powerful thing was just them turning the 1 hour time limit on the potara to be more like 5 minutes. But assuming Dragonball is shown in Frieza minutes it's actually closer to a 5 second time limit
Vegito Blue lasted 40 minutes in the Manga
Vegito defusing from using too much power was actually a drawback taken from the Fusion Dance. Gotenks had the same thing happen to him when he went SSJ3 in the Buu Saga.
So that puts both fusion techniques back at square one, with the Potara only having a slight edge with its half an hour time limit _if_ the fusions don't use up too much power. (Note that "too much power" is a vague term)
No. Its the literal same as gogeta, but with more time than gogeta has; and stronger due to the potara itself. The retcon only made vegito not last nearly as long, and tbh its not really even a 'retcon' seeing as we seen super vegito defuse a long time ago from using too much strength as a JUST super saiyan. So it makes sense that SSJGSS would defuse much faster due to being literally 4 forms above(ignoring graded ssj1 forms) normal ssj. Its more like them finally explaining WHY Super Vegito even defused in the first place way back in the buu saga, and then giving the reason. Gogeta by all sources is supposed to not last as long as vegito, yet in the broly movie he had far more screen time than VB had, despite every source saying its 'inferior' to potara. My point is, its literally all just down to how long they want those '5 minutes' to last. The VB vs Zamasu(fused)(bukkake arm) fight made that pretty clear, since vb was like ~5 minutes long. Its as if they forgot these characters are FAR beyond the speed of light, and completely ignored that fact by making the fusion last ~5minutes rather than, like gogeta, lasting ~40minutes?
TLDR; gogeta and vegito last as long as the author wants them to, and thats about it.
Technically it’s not a retcon since Vegito defused in the buu saga. All they did in super was giving us an explanation for that

The recon in Super is that it's only permanent when a Kai uses the earrings (can be reversed via Dragon balls). There's a normal time limit of 1 hour when two non Kais use the earrings. In Super Vegetto/Vegito was so powerful in his SSGSS form the fusion only lasted 5 minutes.

this is the real problem... it makes no sense whatsoever. My only explanation is that Super Saiyan blue has so much god ki to the point that those Potaras just couldn't hold that power for too long. What they have to do in order to fix this is to make stronger Potara earrings because Potaras were made for Kais and they indeed have god ki but their god ki isn't as strong as a Super Saiyan blue. So in the end the only logical explanation is that Potara earrings weren't made for beings as powerful as God Super Saiyans.
@@heltongomez8865 I don't mind that they added the non-permanent thing for the Potara earrings, but I think the time-limit is kinda bad writing because it's just too similar to the dance, I would have preferred it if they said something like powerful magic (like what you'd probably find happening inside of a being like Majin Buu) or intense power can overwhelm them and make them split, and that under normal circumstances they'd stay fused. But I know that they made it a time-limit thing just so they could be an option against Zamasu and still know that they can turn them back into individuals for later on
@@TheWarDemonZ"Buu Magic" being the explanation to why Vegito defused actually doesn't makes sense. Buu could only use Gotenks' power for a limited time before they defused. If that theory was right, he would only have Goten & Trunks separated powers available. One being Potara and the other being Metamoran shouldn't make a difference, if anything Gotenks should defuse and Vegito not as Elder Kai said Potara is stronger (even if nowadays we accept that isn't truth and both are the same power-wise). Super actually gave a good explanation, the only flaw i can see is the whole "more power input, less fusion time" as that was already the case with Metamoran. I hope they find a way to actually make the 2 methods valid instead of discarding Potara for Metamoran.
The retcon was that potara fusion only lasts 1 hour when it's done with 2 mortals. It's only permanent if a Supreme Kai is involved and even then a wish on the Earth or Namekian dragon balls can undo it. The reason Vegito defused early was because they used too much power and thus shortened the time fused much like with SSJ4 Gogeta where instead of 30 minutes it was 10.
They didn't exactly defuse by using too much power. They defused because Vegitos powerlevel was just too much for the potaras to handle. Mans literally broke the cap on those bad boys.
@@CedricBassman Nope. That "Final Kamehameha" was the breaking point. Gowasu even says they used up the power to maintain the fusion in Japanese while in English he says their immense power level burned through their time much faster.

I loved the what if saga in this game. Raging blast is literally a pillar of my childhood.
The one big thing for Vegito vs Gogeta is that metomoran requires perfectly even power levels while potara can be anything. So even slight differences between Goku and Vegeta can put the gap between the two fusions

Here's an idea for raids in the TB3 mod: assign each player a dps, tank and healer. E/a only get upgrades related to their class ex. Healer gets regen and only that, tank gets defense or more health etc
I doubt they'll do that. That's more rpg-like. If anything, the raids will resemble Xenoverse 2 or something like that.

@ラムネRamune True. I think the main problem would be the lack of healers. Aside from Dende and the Kais, who else can heal effectively? We have plenty of tanky characters, glass cannons, and dps characters but barely any healers

I always thought the advantage of the fusions was convenience, you don't always have the earrings and you don't always have a pal who knows how to do the dance so the advantage of each is just the situation they are in not really the power.

Actually, if I remember correctly, it was retconned in Super that Potarra is only permanent if at least one of the Fused halves is a Kai. Otherwise the Fusion only lasts an hour. Though that's still twice as long as the Time Limit for the Fusion Dance Technique, so in a way, Potarra *is* superior.
(The Time Limit was shortened during the fight with Fused Zamasu due the amount of Power/Godly Ki Vegito Blue was using.)

The potara fusion is superior, anyone can put on the ear rings to fuse at any power level, while fusion requires both of them to know the dance and be at the same power level. Not to mention the potara can be activated from a distance, while the dance requires you to be in touching range of your partner. Also, the potara is a 1 hour time limit normally, while the fusion is only 30 minutes normally and if you mess up the dance you have to wait another 30 minutes to try again.
But the one big problem someone can easily stop the potara fusion by simply destroying the earrings and it's not that hard to do so if that happens no more potara fusion.

Quick tip for getting rid of the "compiling shaders" at the bottom left. Go to config, then the emulator tab and they'll be a section on that tab called emulator settings. In this section, there should be a setting called "Show shader compilation hint". Switch it off then hit apply and save. That should get rid of it

Wasn't the canon in Z that the Dance combines power levels and provides a minor boost, but has a time limit, but the Earrings massively boost the combined power at the cost of it being a permanent effect? Seems open and shut on who's stronger to me.

No, they aren't permanent they also have a time limit of the people fusing are mortals. But the dance does require equal power
Both Potara and the Fusion Dance have no confirmed multipliers or even estimated boosts in Z canon. It was always vaguely "fusions are much stronger than the combined power of the fusees." The _absolute_ closest is the "a times b" multiplier for Potara stated in one of the Z era guidebooks, but that has since been retconned.
Now they both are stated to be "the combined power of the fusees multiplied several dozen times over." Which is still vague, because that could be pretty much any number above 24, but at least it gives a more specific range.

@@wintersins not only that, there had to be no reason fusion time limit to be shortened depending on 'power depletion' its not connected to stamina, nor does it show secondary battery/visual that using a more powerful form affects the fusion time.
Fusion is a 'magical' thing, its just stupid having its time limit reduced by 'any means' just screams arbitrarily to fanservice the fans and go back to tension.
I'm just saying ... Potara has things like rival boosts and it's a godly item as opposed to a mortal technique. I feel like Vegeto being stronger just makes sense.

@@dbhe01 Yep. We have never seen the metamorans but they were described by Goku as “weak and small”. They have their own fusion method, yes, but the potaras are meant to hold more powerful beings such as kais(god) and for a much longer time from their fusion dance.
@@gilover551 Yeah but then they changed it to where it’s only guaranteed and easier that they’ll fuse with the potaras but have problems similar to the dance after they fuse. It would’ve made sense if the potaras kept the fusion for the full time limit too since a magical item is what makes them fuse. With the dance, it makes sense that they’d have an energy problem since it’s their fused body that keeps them together. They could’ve just had it to where the earrings will always hold a bit of its own energy to keep the fusion even if fused body had no energy left.
Tbh you can’t really call it a retcon since they never gave us a solid explanation as to why they defused in the Buu saga we all just assumed it was because of Buu’s body all Super did was give us a solid answer, when two mortals fuse they have a 1 hour time limit, but if Kais fuse then they will stayed fused forever and it is most likely that Elder Kai just simply didn’t have that knowledge since he probably hasn’t seen two mortals fuse all he saw was Kais fuse and assumed it is the same with when two mortals fuse.
They are both amazingly strong and super cool its not like both will exist at the same time in the actual show let us love both of them and not hate on eachother

Ye in official products, if Gogeta vs Vegito happens, usually Vegito is the one who wins. Personally, I like both of them just as much and really don't care who's stronger. I think it's probably Vegito, based on statements about how Potara fusion is so much better than Metamoran fusion. On the other hand, those statements were made by a Kaio, so you could call him biased. However, on the other other hand, Metamoran fusion is a mortal technique and the Potara earrings are magical godly artifacts, so it would make sense that Potara results in a stronger fusion.
Kai not Kaio and kais are not immortal lmao . Zamasu wished for immortality / it's not one statement just elder kai opinion.that was wrong because 1 potara fusion is not permanent.
Metamoran fusion also requires the stronger of the two to lower their power to exactly match the weaker, while Potara uses the full power of both.

BT mashing is fun, RB actually giving you a few in-game stuff for playing it is nice. Hope BT4 splits the difference and has mashing games that give you in-game stuff.

Correct me if im wrong but was the potara fusion said to be stronger cuz both fusees could join at their full power whereas the dance the stronger fusee has to lower their power to match? So like in the buu saga, vegito would be stronger cuz goku was stronger than vegeta so it would be like 7+5=12 vs gogeta where goku would have to lower his power so like 5+5=10. If that's the case, wouldnt the fusions be basically equal now since goku and vegeta are on par? Or am i remembering wromg
It's stating that they are equal as trump cards not strength. Even though I like gogeta more personally vegito is stronger based on the boost from the potara boost and rivalry boost combined with that. The fusion dance just adds the two together no boost is given

the Super retcon was Potara between non-kaioshin is limited to 1hour, the Potara Ear-rings are divine objects thus Vegito Blue burnt the divine Ki the Ear-Rings needed to sustane the fusion, thus Gogeta wins now because DBS Broly makes it seem like the fusion dance does not have that Divine Ki weakness thus Gogeta Blue can be sustaned for the full 30mins.
Vegito is probably stronger just based on supreme Kai’s statement. But if we are talking about viability, It’s gogeta for sure. If vegito defused due to his power in the future saga, imagine how fast he would defuse post T.O.P or even currently in the manga (which I don’t read).
But sadly as a gogeta fan, I must admit, they are either equal in power, or vegito>gogeta. I just look forward to the day where we get some sort of official confirmation via some interview or something 🤔. If there was, please let me know
Viability still goes to Vegito for the timer cuz you have to realize he went full power off bat not knowing about the power/time limit (aka retcon) while in the Broly movie they fused taking their time powering up to higher levels since they had knowledge of the timer

Just so you know, the Fusion Dance does have a reduced timer with power, just look at SSJ3 Gotenks in DBZ. Both Fusions are really cool, but I do believe Vegito is stronger than Gogeta

I like to wonder how different the series would be if their appearances switched. Like instead of Vegito fighting Buu and Zamasu it would be Gogeta and vise versa.
Most likely nothing significant would change. They were officially stated to be equally matched trump cards which means that they would both do as well as the other in the same situation. So Gogeta would've gotten absorbed by Buu and failed to defeat Zamasu like Vegito, and Vegito would've beaten Broly like Gogeta.

Technically Vegito has more power, since the two users of the Metemorian fusion needs the users to be of equal power while Potara has no such restriction. Goku typically has a slight edge over Vegeta in terms of power, so Gogeta would be weaker since Goju would have to decrease his power while Vegito would benefit from that slight power edge.

Doto, there is tech to mashing - it’s NOT good for you but it works.
Keep your thumb against your pointer finger bottom knuckle like you’re doing a karate chop. Tense that arm now, forearm and bicep, tense it hard as you can until your hand starts to shake, the mash power is in your arm not your hands.
This is Kaioken tier though, the body cannot handle this level for long.

The greatest proof of power superiority will be which fusion gets access to ultra instinct first, as both contain Goku and he bears the ultra instinct technique, so the first fusion to access that part of Goku is basically the best.
This is what ive always said vegito is the play around bc he knows hes strong ie when he played around with buu and goku black at first gogeta on the other hand is the more aggressive bc its both goku and vegta aggression up front so when he pops out its no games im here to kill

He plays around on purpose because he needs to be absorb because he doesn’t know that if gohan, gotenks, and piccolo will survive if he kills buu so he acts cocky on purpose so buu can absorb him so that he can save them. Another example it’s that in one scene when buu loses his legs vegito stretches him out so that buu can see his tentacle that vegito took off when he was a candy so that buu will have a better chance of thinking to absorbing him. He was never playing around he was waiting so his plan would work. Then also please rewatch the vegito vs Zamasu when was vegito ever acting cocky. He was serious the whole. He tried to finish Zamasu with his ultimate attack the final kamehameha. All he does is talks some trash and that’s it. There’s never a point where he plays with Zamasu at all.

edit: though raging blast is from the Z era and this is before the retcon in super for the earrings, vegito would be deemed stronger because AT THIS TIME his form is permanent. in super the earrings rules were changed as they only keep kais perma (unless they remove one) and anyone else only holds the form for an hour. though with vegito blue he can only stay for 5 mins as gogeta blue can stay for the whole duration of 30 mins as shown in the broly movie.

Yes, Vegito does indeed have an L. But Vegito’s goal against Buu wasn’t to kill him, it was to get absorbed and free the people inside of him. Also, Vegito didn’t know about the over excess of power would shorten his timer. Also, both opponents that Vegito fought had insane regeneration. I know that both fusions are viable trump cards, but I do believe Vegito would beat Gogeta.
Jayeto is only equal multiplier btw not equally powerful because vegito cant use more power because he reduce his timer 👍.
Also, the Broly vs Gogeta fight was only like, 8 minutes. Nothing implied that it lasted the full 30 minutes.

Even if you don't consider the timelimit, portaras are more powerful, and here's why: it is stated that for the fusion dance to work both participants have to equalize their ki-level, which therefore means that if one of those participants is particulary more powerful, he or she has to lower their level. As a result, even if the calculation that happens within the fusion (a+b multiplied by whatever) is the exact same for both fusions, and we have no info indicating anything else, Portaras will always be more powerful as the participants can both power up to their max without any consideration towards how far appart their respective maximum power levels may be.

my guess is potara has an advantage over fusion dance is because the users are using tools that belong to a god like being (a kai). while fusion is done by an alien race we've never really seen. not to mention the power levels of the users of the potara don't need to be equal just to fuse.
one thing i don't get though is vegito's time limit is severely shortned to 5 when using SSB. but when gogeta uses it, it almost seems he is able to stay fused for the entire 30 minutes. then again, gogeta and broly were fighting at extreme speed.

Oh btw Doto, a little helpful raging blast tech. I think it's in Raging Blast one but I definitely know it's in Raging Blast 2. But the tech is, if the enemy shoots a beam at you, if you hold block and move the left analog stick left or right, you will hit the beam away and take no damage 😁
It makes sense that Vegito's moveset would have more in it since he was canon with more screen time, and Gogeta showed up to knee Janemba, then blow his back out and pose on him and smile at the camera.
