Just had my first shave with my new Rockwell 6S today, coming from a cheaper safety razor I used for a few years. Man what a difference, used R3 and I had no irritation, not little cuts on my neck (which happened often with my old one). Just a smooth and relaxing (cedar scented) shave.
Welcome back Doc! at first I thought you retired it's good to be back. I would like to see you try Timeless Razor curious of your thought, and also soap called "Grooming Dept." they have insanely 24 ingredients, never try that soap I might some day and happy shaving.
It's nice that you're back making shaving videos, Nick. I always enjoy watching them! I really like the Rockwell 6S as well. It's my heaviest razor. I think it weighs around 130 grams. I would like to see you use Barrister & Mann Cheshire or 42 in one of your next videos. I don't think I've ever seen you use those shaving soaps on camera.
Good review, Nick! Yep you'll enjoy the Rockwell 6S. I have a chrome series set and a stainless set and they right up there with e my favourites. I use primarily the 3 and 4 plates and find a Gillette silver blue makes it awesome.
Would you use your favorite synthetic brush next time. I really like Maggard's cheap synthetic brush however I'm looking for one with a higher quality handle. Great demo of the 6S!
The sharp, bitter smell you describe is actually the smell of bergamotte which is the only other ingredient in earl grey tea besides black tea :) works great with ginger though! Thank you for the great video!
I just recently had a subluxation in my right shoulder and cannot use my right arm so my straight razors and shavette are a bit intimidating at the moment. I have this razor coming in a couple of weeks, it's going to be my first safety razor I've used in about a year. I'm looking forward to wet shaving again, my morning ritual feels incomplete at the moment.
Thanks Nick for doing the review on the Rockwell 6S. I have been on the fence recently about purchasing the razor. I think this will be my next razor. Love the different options of blade gap.
Great video Nick! Are you going to try some bigger synthetic brushes? I don't like 22mm and smaller (splay to much, no backbone), but 24 and 26 mm Razorocks are awesome (RazoRock Plissoft Monster, RazoRock 400 Noir, RazoRock BC Silvertip Plissoft, ...)
Great video nick! Is the Rockwell 6s your first adjustable? never saw you use one. Maybe try Merkur progress or Parker Variant. I also recommend Viking soaps!
I just sub to your channel and i am very happy. I have watched a lot of your videos on the blades reviews and have a good idea which ones I am gonna order. Well done videos with great reviews. Thanks very much man.
Nick, great video! Curious on your thoughts on the Razorock Chubby Badger if you have it. Also would like to see you try Barrister & Mann Le Grand Chypre if you have it or Cheshire. Thanks!
"The Midget" is a great shaving brush....I love mixed natural fiber brushes. Vie Long makes a horse and badger hair brush and a horse and bore hair brush. With the Midget you get Bore and badger.
I'm an OC fan, but I'm seriously contemplating getting the 6C based on all the glowing reviews and versatility of the 6S. (I'd like the 6S but with currency exchange rates it's a bit expensive) Maybe a stupid question, but doesn't the lack of scallops on the safety bar mean that it wipes away most of the lather before the blade can get to it?
The areas Nick is working on around 16:17 at the corners of the mustache I always have a hard time with. Almost have to do a diagonal against the grain pass to get rid of prickly areas I feel with my hand with my 34C. Do I need to go up in aggressiveness?
I dont think it has to do with aggressiveness, I can get BBS with the 34C in this area on blades like Astra blue. Try pulling your nose up and get a clos look on how your hair is growing. Do not go against the grain in this area before getting the hair as short as possible as your beard might be very stiff and hard under your nose. The EJ DE89 has a bit of a smaller head than the 34C, maybe you can more precision with this razor - give it a try. For me it also helps to first shave my cheeks, then press the finger on the skin next to my mustache area and stretch it towards my ears. Now I shave horizontally from the outside towards my nose. PS: Don't let the feeling overwhelm you that you have to press down to get closer - avoid pressure in this area at all costs!
Hey Nick, great to see another review. I also have the Rockwell 6S and love! Glad to see you're liking it as well. I do have a request..... could you review the RazoRock Chubby brush? I'm curious about that as I don't have 150+ to spend I a Simpson's Chubby2. Thanks again, and keep the videos coming :)
Would be really interested to hear what your workout routine is like, if you felt like sharing :) also how many of those blue t-shirts do you have haha??
I can honestly say that you were nearly my entire knowledge base when I first got into Wet Shaving. Thanks for all you do and be well! Just for fun, check out this knucklehead! ruclips.net/video/6fy3ZHwHY6Y/видео.html

13:33 awkward eye contact
lmao I noticed that too 😂
hahahahaha
Great new video Nick. Keep up the great work👍👍💈💈

Hi Nick, the Rockwell 6 S is a fantastic razor. Plates 3 & 4 is where it really shines.

It's great to be back on reviews, Nick!
Thanks for the video Nick, awesome stuff.
So happy that you are back Nick :)
I really like using R2 and finishing with R4, gives a smooth BBS.
Rockwell 6S is the best. Most smoothest and irritation free razor I've ever used. My RAD has been cured ... time to unload the others...
Lovely razor.. I start with the 3 and finish with the 1.

Have you tried anymore UK artisan soaps? I'm pleased you had a video with Phoenix & Beau Albion. However I prefer companies like Wickhams and OSP.
Awesome video Nick. Cool products. Take care.

Reef Point is some excellent soap! The 6s is an amazing razor
Can you try the blades grim "smolder" I sent it to the stallion not sure if he liked it or not but just wanted to get your take on it.
Would be really interested to hear what your workout routine is like, if you felt like sharing :) also how many of those blue t-shirts do you have haha??
Could be interesting to hear your thoughts on some Meissner Tremonia products.
when are you gonna review the personna reds?
welcome back!
Wait till you try the Rockwell with a Permasharp!
Welcome back Nick! Would love to see you try The Artisan Soap Shoppe. It's great stuff!
Big brushes are so overrated. I'll take a small and efficient badger and old day of the week.
Soap- Wholly Kaw Monaco

I just have a hard time paying 100 bucks for a razor.

Great to see you back doing reviews. Looking forward to seeing the product reviews. Did you have any withdrawal symptoms during beard-a-gadon?
