Thank you Dave. Rick Clunn has always been My #1 idol in BASS. You know how sometimes your idols after meeting them or hearing them share opinions they just didn't live up to your expectations? Well again THANK YOU for a great episode you asked all the right questions and you did confirm my respect for my idol Rick Clunn he is a gem and a very good, honest, sincere and just seems to have an awesome perspective on everything even FFS. I am an older fellow and he made me think about my views on FFS and life in general. FYI other idols just to name a few are you (remember the clips on CKVR), KVD, Gussy, Chris, Cory and Cooper (now you know where I am from Eh!). PS going to the go fund me for Rylee next.

Great to see Jake, and I love Clunn's strategic approach to the blend. He's truly a national treasure. What a cool man. As far as FFS, my hope is that they'll just do half tournaments with it and half without. Or something like that. I mean, I'd prefer just not to have it, but that seems like a reasonable compromise. One thing I know for sure, the next jump in sonar technology will probably turn fishing into something unrecognizable. Speaking of sonar, let's all pitch in and help Sonar. I believe St. Jude will fix the problem. The family just needs our support.
That's what I think too. Half with ffs and half without. It would solve all the problems, such as bait sales going down, ppl like me not wanting to watch live anymore, electronics sponsors, etc. Also, I think it would be interesting to see some of these guys compete without it. I'd rather see it banned altogether, but that's not going to happen, and this would be the perfect compromise

Another great show, Dave. Love Jake's take great segment, thanks : )) I'm a 65 yr old none tournament guy. Have a fishing pole in my golf bag, so ya, I'm addicted. Lol love my FFS lots of fun, but only use it now and then to fish suspended fish when my favorite ways of catching fish aren't working. Rick said it well. It's good for those pockets of slow times for me. It's a little cold here today in so cal, like high 60's. Lol Peace.
I'm only 20 minutes into this one, but can tell from what's been said already, and the comments that it's going to be one of the best one's yet!...FishOn...Jim

Jake hit fishing technology changes right on the head when he compared it to archery technology. We need to stop all the internal bickering and as you said, fish how you love to fish whether that’s ffs, power,finesse or a float and live bait. I was always a been Roland Martin fan. So when I got back into bass fishing and saw Scott Martin’s name I started following him and it was awesome to see him have success this weekend. I guess I am one of the few but instead to being negative towards something in the outdoor world we need to come together as sportsman/outdoorsmen and work together on embracing what we have. If Ffs isn’t for you don’t use it, but we have always wanted more youth in the outdoors and if this is it heck let’s encourage it. I fish local tournaments and don’t use it But I also don’t say it’s cheating to someone that does. Let’s come together instead of arguing.

I got to film all that day 1 of practice at santee fishing the cypress trees and put it in the practice video.
My and Dylan were so bummed we weren’t there. My kid had qualifying for the state wrestling tournament in ga or I would’ve jumped on a plane Friday lol

Theres guys on the elite that wouldnt be there without ffs and thats just a fact. Fujita is a perfect example..yes a great fisherman and probably would do ok but 100% of his success on these lakes was ffs because lack of experience. But times are changing and ive accepted that now. You know my only complaint is not enough ffs for us so hopefully something digitally can be done between boats to make it more acceptable. Thanks Dave. Few more weeks till showtime!!❤🐟🤟
Yes there are definitely people who count on FFS as a big part of there game. I don’t think anyone will argue that. It will be interesting to see how it continues to evolve in the sport

Re: live scope. Im old school. Count me for one who thinks its bad for the sport. Its a video game sport anymore (which is why the younger kids factor in). I dont think its good for TV (all heads down) and I dont care what anybody says (my buddy has it) - its easier to fish, period.

Jake said something that stood out to me he said Scott was fishing around 80 anglers and all or most have the same equipment he has and Scott on that lake is the best fisherman no matter what equipment he is the best fisherman on that lake .
He sure was the best that week but not always. Look at the Elite Standings from last season
Sorry Dave maybe honest isn’t the best word to use. I just truly believe it’s a crutch and a short cut we live in an instant gratification world now and I think slowly and surely it’s going to ruin what bass fishing is truly about. Just my opinion. I really do love the show and respect everyone’s opinion and desire to be the best. I’m just not personally sure in the future it’s best for the sport or for the longevity of the bass as a resource. Thanks and have a safe and wonderful 2024 season. Can’t wait to watch.

Scott has no off button lol. Last time at St. John’s he doesn’t make the cut we’re eating sushi…. He looks at me and says can you stay tomorrow? I said I planned on you making the cut. He said I know but we’re going to film a network episode and woke up Saturday at 4am and drove 2 hours to a bass factory plantation on the ga line lol.
Love the show and Rick is a legend, Jakes take is incredible. Now sorry I’m calling bs on most FFS guys, it has nothing to do with wanting to learn or being fascinated by bass behavior it’s just people wanting to take shortcuts. I’m sure Clunn and people like Doug Hannon totally would love the learning aspect, but if most were honest it’s about Pics for bros (lol) stupid !!! and $$$$ PERIOD let’s cut the BS and be 100% honest.

I don’t think I said anything different than that. However 90% of the field had FFS. Obviously Scott used it best.
No offense to you Dave but the klunn segments I'll be fast forwarding thru,he is like me washed up and he is taking the place of a younger ,more relevant angler who may had a bad year and got the boot last season. Hope and pray 50 will be it.
If you outlawed ffs 85% can't catch fish. It has ruined bass fishing it's disappointing
FFS has become the best tool for weeding out the old guard of BASS. Making room for the future anglers of the sport. Maybe not the intention but it's what's happening. Out with the old in with the new. Thank God for Lynn Dollar. And You Dave.
