I think the "bread rolls" bit is reversing the way British people go to an Indian or Chinese restaurant and think they're funny trying to copy the accent 🙄😅

It's not the accent that's funny but rather the ignorant over ordering. I.e " we'll have 28 poppadoms "... for 4 people. 🤣

They are making fun of a stereotype of drunk white British who would get drunk and then go to an Indian restaurant. Pronouncing the waiters name incorrectly, ordering a non-spicy meal, being generally obnoxious.

And over ordering the chips..white Brits always order too many portions of rice! I feel sorry for Indian restaurant staff especially at the weekends. I did (when I was young) go for an Indian at 3am after leaving a nightclub, but I always behaved with respect, however I did see this kind of behaviour. 😢
Thank you for bringing your wonderful culture and food to our country, I personally love a good vegetable Masala with pilau rice and naan bread. ❤

Loved Goodness Gracious Me, think it’s the only British Asian comedy that has any Sikhi connection too (a few of the cast are Sikhs) and they use a lot of British Punjabi slang. I think Nina Wadia is Parsi and Sanjeev Bhaskar is from a Hindu background.
A few of the cast also made the Kumars at No. 42, that’s worth checking out too - it was an largely improvised show where they played the Kumar family and had celebrities around to their house to interview them

I live facing a massive Sikh temple, anyway alot of the taxi drivers often say to me I would be very welcome to go there on Sunday afternoon and enjoy the food etc.
My point is iam so tempted but have no idea what to expect.
