    I first tried 85 percent one and I loved its premium taste. One thing I discovered that lindt has both 99 and 100 percent dark chocolates, I wonder how much difference does that 1 percent holds?

    • @manCaveSweden
      @manCaveSweden  2 года назад +3

      oh, did not know they have 99 as well! I could not get that here in Sweden anywhere. But I guess there the difference would be impossible to taste.. perhaps if that one percent is some sort of a flavor enhancer?

      I’m pretty sure mass produced crap like Lindt is always going to be bitter. It’s like having good coffee from a local roaster after having Folgers all your life. I’m ordering some Argencove looking forward to trying it

    • @manCaveSweden
      @manCaveSweden  Год назад

      @@GeorgeSukFuk hmm.. now i googled about this brand a bit, because i never saw it before and honestly, is it not a good marketing, so that their chocolate bar is literally cost 10 times more than most of any other brands? I was at the small chocolates factory (operated by a single family) in Italy and they showed how they use the 100 year old bean crusher to get the powder done, how they form the bars etc and they sold their stuff for the price that was more expensive than lindt but like 8 euro per bar... while linds was maybe 2 euro and these guys form argencove sell their bard for 44 euro.. Hmm.. I have really hard times understand how this can be justified, other than great luxury marketing

  • @bmiranda2645
    @bmiranda2645 3 года назад +27

    Haha I just tried the 100% cocoa bar and yes it is bitter like black coffee beans and does taste a bit like a bar of soap. What really surprised me was the box contained 50 grams but cost $4 just like the other 100 gram bars!

    • @manCaveSweden
      @manCaveSweden  3 года назад +6

      I was also wondering about the price / weight value. My guess is : 1. it's either marketing trick - not many will like the product, so we will reduce the weight and increase the price to get the same revenue, or 2. The manufacturing of the pure product requires much more refinement efforts. But I lean towards option 1.

    • @bmiranda2645
      @bmiranda2645 3 года назад +7

      @@manCaveSweden I agree with reason 1. Lindt probably does not expect the 100% cocoa to be delicious to the customer, but the nicer packaging and 100% gimmick makes it worth a try only one time, or is frequently purchased as a gift for other people.

    90% is the best taste. 85% is disgusting.

    • @manCaveSweden
      @manCaveSweden  2 года назад +2

      indeed, if you are sensitive and know what you are looking for, even 5% can make a big difference, like "best" and "disgusting".

      Agreed. The first time I ate the 85%, I actually enjoyed it. However, I got another bar recently and this time around it was disgustingly bitter. Don’t know what happened this time.
