@@Drewstein69 I can answer all those questions for you. Why he and Ally broke up will be no comment they have a NDA. He doesn't bully anyone but he is straightforward in how he talks about people with EDs and those who are obese because many of them are delusional and someone needs to tell them the real truth either put the fork down or puck the fork up. People like to make these things far more complicated than they are and he's just speaking about them in straightforward to the point language which is what people who try to beat around the bush about their actual problems need.
I went from being a GD fan, to disliking him as some of his rants began hurting my ears, to now being an even bigger fan. After a while, you get a feel for which channels are genuinely trying to help and both Greg and Mitch seem to be about making a positive impact with what they know to be true vs trying to find a controversial topic or solution to appeal to a viewership through confirmation bias. We all falter here and there but I think they are genuinely good guys.
Mitch, videos like these are the reason you're one of the best ambassadors for fitness. You do such a great job of providing information that is beneficial to all fitness levels, but also giving it from as unbiased of a view as possible. You simply give people the information that you feel is important and let the individual make the decision themselves. Thank you for all you do!

Sounds like Greg is referencing "The Subtle Art of Not Giving a F@ck" at the 4:00 mark. It's a great book! And no, it's not about being a disaffected jerk, it's about choosing to care about the few things that truly matter to you in life and letting go of the rest.
Greg is such a character when on his channel which he honestly admits to in his interviews but is really smart and seems super cool on other channels. Mitchell is just the opposite I truly believe he is a great dude always, he has definitely become my go to channel to watch out any other strong man!! Great interview!!
First off, very well done. I think the level of discussion and the chemistry are great. I agree with one of the comments regarding Greg’s persona on the bulk of his videos. A calm and collected Greg is much preferable to the high pitched screaming. Having said that I do like his content for the most part
I actually like Greg's high pitched screaming, it makes him more interesting. It doesn't make him less informative, so I think it's fine. It might even make him more informative because more people are listening to him, and he uses humor to make points stick in our brains. When you finish watching him, you think why is he talking to us like 3rd graders? He's dumbing it down too much. But actually you didn't know it before you started watching him and he taught you something new!
Awesome interview!! Coach Greg's advice has helped me lose 40+ lbs and keep it off. Although he may cross the line of controversy from time to time, his advice is solid and his consistent videos helped me tremendously. He made me realize I was the problem and I was the only one who can fix that problem. Do Cardio, Put the Fork down and STOP making EXCUSES. Honestly Greg has likely added many years to my life and I'm thankful for his no BS way of teaching. LHBK is an amazing slogan for inclusion and a healthy relationship with physical and mental health. Would be pretty cool if you tried the army combat fitness test. It’s fairly new and very few professional athletes have tried it on RUclips - I think it would be interesting to see what a strongman could do on events like the standing power throw and sprint drag carry.
I think we need popular influencers to start to bring facts back to the surface. When a fact hurts your feelings, that is a clear indication that you are living in a false reality.
Mitchell says there's a bit more nuissance to the Calories In - Calories Out relation. And there is. But like he said in the end: the scale will tell you if you're in a calorie deficit or not. So they agree. Mitchell just doesn't think it's as straight fwd. I think it's very simple. But I'm a hydraulic engineer and I deal with the energy equation and mass conservation all the time... same concept. I don't need to track my Calories perfectly. But I know that if I eat less and move more, I'm going to lose weight.
18:49 That's the case for me, going to the gym vastly improved every single aspect of my life. Diet, relationships (got a girlfriend 2 months in), work ethic (studying daily and got a job) and I read more. Generally, I also just feel plain better. I didn't look bad before starting it consistently and I'm nowhere near amazing physique territory right now. But those mental benefits can literally be extracted day one, and after 2-3 months it becomes amazing to see how the domminoes built upon each other.

16:40 I know some new big people cant do large workout but it also takes more energy and calories to do a small workout so they are likely burning more than one might expect, given the extra weight carried around and higher heart rate
Coach Greg is an OG and his advice is legit, particularly for dieting. He has definitely been embracing the algorithm preferring controversy, but he does actually offer an opinion worth listening to.
I've been following Coach Greg for a long time now and I'm also not American, so I honestly never found issue with the stuff he talks about. It's weird because it's a game, but people don't get it. The game is making people mad because that's when they start attacking you with interactions which in turn show your stuff to more people. The guy really, and I mean REALLY knows his stuff, the issue is when he was trying to educate people wouldn't care as much as when he points out that most people could lose a little weight and feel better.
I have to give you credit Mitch, I kind of thought you were going to be a more vanilla RUclipsr too afraid of controversy (yes I know the algorithm currently is rewarding controversy but still technically risky long-term). Anyways, props for being authentic

Apart from stating the obvious that this is another great and informative interview, I must add that it's nice to hear Greg's real voice for the first time, surprisingly it doesn't sound annoying.
Excellent point on the calories out part of the CICO equation, especially that undigested food is part of the calories out. This is why it is important to eat high fibrous food as part of any balanced nutrition plan (e.g. fruits and vegetable).

I’m starting to think the best way to become hated is to try to be honest and objective and say what you actually think. At first I didn’t like Greg’s voice and rants but when I started listening to him I thought he was usually pretty honest, tried to be fair and said what he actually believed. So no hate from me. These are actually the things I most appreciate and respect and fully practice myself.
Greg's clone is so much nicer than the original. Jokes aside. To be honest, Greg's content on his own channel can be annoying because of his style. This conversation, on the other hand, is brilliant, provocative, constructive, and useful. Please make more of these.
Coach Greg is awesome. yes the angry voice can get annoying. yes he loves the click bait. yes he loves picking fights with other big (often bigger) influencers for clout 😬 BUT it's part of the business!!! those videos are probably the ones that get him views, otherwise he wouldn't do them. underneath all that I find he has a very consistent message and spreads a lot of great information. Sure some things you need to take with a grain of salt and adjust to you, but overall he's solid dude. Also Coach Greg was detrimental in me being comfortable in the 12-15% bf range, instead of chasing 10% year round and feeling awful. will forever be grateful
That was a really good interview/discussion, reckon we could learn a lot from him if he went down the education route rather than controversy one. Maybe he does but I’ve only ever seen his rants. 😂 I’m gonna start smashing the like button on his channel so he beats the haters just that little bit more 👍
I don't follow Greg, but everything he said here makes since. I also wasn't bothered by his question following the video of the lady giving the bad health advice to the young woman trying out prom dresses. I suppose, there's always a time and place when it comes to the correct physical and mental health advice. But one shouldn't be confused with the other. If I'm talking with a person, and I can tell their mental health around their body and fitness is bad, I'm changing my approach. But the underlying message is the same. And for some people, we do need to be honest - even if it hurts. I'd rather see you with hurt feelings for a couple of hours, than a 3rd heart attack before you're 35. I also completely believe in calories in/calories out, regardless if it's not 100% accurate. I also weigh myself every day. Weighing myself every day has no negative effect on me, though I know a lot of people that say it would. For me, it's just an additional data point - and it's the final point, as Mitchell pointed out, to see if my calorie counting is accurate.
I fucking hate that he is considered controversial. Just shows how socially and emotionally dumb a lot of people are these days, with no ability to read the intention of the person speaking, taking no time to think before they speak.
I didn't want this video to end, I was enjoying it that much. Side note.. I just lost 8lbs in the past month and all I have done differently was started lifting weights. 25-30 mins a day, 4-6 days a week, 3 sets of 3, upper body/core/legs. all with a very basic setup of a bench, a handful of random steel dumbells and a curl bar. The weird/concerning part is that I'm already very lean. 5'11 and 167lbs (now 159lbs). I don't know where it went and I don't know how to counter it. I literally can't afford to eat more than the 4-5 times a day I already do. I eat a lot for a guy my size, all very well balanced thanks to my extremely supportive wife. It's 5:30am and I'm already starving lol.
There is nothing new in this field. It’s still calories in calories out, laws of nature haven’t changed so why should he film same videos as he did 2-4 years ago?

I love to hate on Greg because one of my best friend idolizes him WAAYYYY too much. But to be honest i've learned alot from him, but his takes are very VERY bodybuilder biased, which is fine. I just wish there was more bodybuilders who would take inspo from other athletes and what they eat or do for a healthy body. I myself come from at tumbling and gymnastics bias, and honestly bodybuilders have very bad training technique as well as eating for a well functioning well moving agile gymnastic body.

Apart from stating the obvious that this is another great and informative interview, I must add that it's nice to hear Greg's real voice for the first time, surprisingly it doesn't sound annoying.
Excellent point on the calories out part of the CICO equation, especially that undigested food is part of the calories out. This is why it is important to eat high fibrous food as part of any balanced nutrition plan (e.g. fruits and vegetable).

I’m starting to think the best way to become hated is to try to be honest and objective and say what you actually think.
At first I didn’t like Greg’s voice and rants but when I started listening to him I thought he was usually pretty honest, tried to be fair and said what he actually believed.
So no hate from me.
These are actually the things I most appreciate and respect and fully practice myself.

Greg's clone is so much nicer than the original. Jokes aside. To be honest, Greg's content on his own channel can be annoying because of his style. This conversation, on the other hand, is brilliant, provocative, constructive, and useful. Please make more of these.
Coach Greg is awesome. yes the angry voice can get annoying. yes he loves the click bait. yes he loves picking fights with other big (often bigger) influencers for clout 😬 BUT it's part of the business!!! those videos are probably the ones that get him views, otherwise he wouldn't do them. underneath all that I find he has a very consistent message and spreads a lot of great information. Sure some things you need to take with a grain of salt and adjust to you, but overall he's solid dude. Also Coach Greg was detrimental in me being comfortable in the 12-15% bf range, instead of chasing 10% year round and feeling awful. will forever be grateful
That was a really good interview/discussion, reckon we could learn a lot from him if he went down the education route rather than controversy one. Maybe he does but I’ve only ever seen his rants. 😂

I don't follow Greg, but everything he said here makes since.
I also wasn't bothered by his question following the video of the lady giving the bad health advice to the young woman trying out prom dresses.
I suppose, there's always a time and place when it comes to the correct physical and mental health advice. But one shouldn't be confused with the other. If I'm talking with a person, and I can tell their mental health around their body and fitness is bad, I'm changing my approach. But the underlying message is the same. And for some people, we do need to be honest - even if it hurts. I'd rather see you with hurt feelings for a couple of hours, than a 3rd heart attack before you're 35.
I also completely believe in calories in/calories out, regardless if it's not 100% accurate. I also weigh myself every day. Weighing myself every day has no negative effect on me, though I know a lot of people that say it would. For me, it's just an additional data point - and it's the final point, as Mitchell pointed out, to see if my calorie counting is accurate.

I fucking hate that he is considered controversial. Just shows how socially and emotionally dumb a lot of people are these days, with no ability to read the intention of the person speaking, taking no time to think before they speak.
I didn't want this video to end, I was enjoying it that much.
Side note.. I just lost 8lbs in the past month and all I have done differently was started lifting weights. 25-30 mins a day, 4-6 days a week, 3 sets of 3, upper body/core/legs. all with a very basic setup of a bench, a handful of random steel dumbells and a curl bar. The weird/concerning part is that I'm already very lean. 5'11 and 167lbs (now 159lbs). I don't know where it went and I don't know how to counter it. I literally can't afford to eat more than the 4-5 times a day I already do. I eat a lot for a guy my size, all very well balanced thanks to my extremely supportive wife. It's 5:30am and I'm already starving lol.

There is nothing new in this field. It’s still calories in calories out, laws of nature haven’t changed so why should he film same videos as he did 2-4 years ago?
@@nataliabusko1432 the tabloidsh drama stuff got old faster than real fitness content could ever have. i respect him and his videos and recipes had a positive impact on me a few years ago; but i’ve tuned out.

I love to hate on Greg because one of my best friend idolizes him WAAYYYY too much. But to be honest i've learned alot from him, but his takes are very VERY bodybuilder biased, which is fine. I just wish there was more bodybuilders who would take inspo from other athletes and what they eat or do for a healthy body.
I myself come from at tumbling and gymnastics bias, and honestly bodybuilders have very bad training technique as well as eating for a well functioning well moving agile gymnastic body.
I know exactly what you mean hating on someone because someone you’re close to is obsessed with them 😂😂
