Johnny is looking GREAT! Wow, he’s really got into shape! Johnny is awesome. About 10 years ago, I was talking to him on his Facebook. It was my birthday and he had me give him my number and said he’d call me. No shit, he called me and we chatted for a long time. I couldn’t believe it. Super cool guy.

Ready to Strike is one of the most criminally underrated records of all time. Killer songs, killer guitar work from David "Michael Phillips" Henzerling and Mick Sweda, killer drums from Carmine Appice, killer vocals from Mark (now Marcie) Free, and of course, killer thunderous bass of Johnny Rod! That record definitely deserves more praise than it has gotten over the years. A huge influence on me as a musican, personally, as well.

Man I miss this guy! Was fortunate enough to get to tour with him. Great dude, and hell of a musician. We really hooked up the rhythm section for the band we were playing in together. One of the most kind, funny, and hell of a friend. He is one of the cool kids. He beat my drum kit all to hell on the regular. Haha! Knocked cymbals over from hitting them with his hands. The stage is where this guy belongs forever. Great showman and one of the best and funnest bass players I e had the pleasure to jam with.
    Keep rockin J Rod.

1.) That ceiling fan is awesome. 2.) Johnny Rod seems like a great guy - but exhausting. 3.) He’s a terrific bass player. 4.) Inside the Electric Circus and The Headless Children were the last WASP records I bought. Both were better than The Last Command but can’t touch the debut album. 5.) He seems smart and talented, so I’m guessing he was a really good paramedic who had taken the job seriously..
