at 5:33 brown wire with black stripe labeled KEY2 goes to pin 3 (doubling with what looks like the white wire in back of harness) and black GROUND wire goes to pin 11 (doubling with a different brown and black wire) The TEXT OVERLAY shows pin numbers as if you are looking into the front of the harness. But the video shows the BACK of the harness, so the numbers are flipped: in the video the lower right corner is pin 1 left empty, pin 2 looks like an orange and black wire pin 3 has two wires- white on top and brown/black stripe labeled KEY2 pin 11 is in the top right corner has solid black GROUND wire and (another wire)
Thanks for the video bro! I have 2006 honda odyssey and has been looking for the steering wheel control connection for the car stereo I am installing. Kudos!
Hi Dean. Can you help me with the name of that main blue harness plug, which goes into the clock spring? Mine after some tinkering isnt touching some pins inside and would like to put a new one.
Thank you so much. Brother. You have my life. I work on this step burned one my player. Have to buy another work for 2 weeks. I got it. Thank you god bless you
Can you pick what button does what with the factory plug or do you need a certain stereo or is it the $60 add on? Just to pick what the buttons do?? Thanks
Hey I have the same brand name did you have to hook up the small ground wire because you said something about it but I didn't see you hook it up .I saw only the two brown wires hooked up
This video was uploaded by mistake. The one I uploaded to my other channel has important annotations at key points throughout the video showing pin-outs, tips etc. If you are using a mobile device, request the desktop/PC mode or watch on a PC.
I did it on my Honda Civic 2010 Hatchback. the pins are (from wires side of 20 pins connector) Pin 6 for Switch 2 Brown stripped and Pin 7 for GND black. Then reprogram all buttons and working fine. Thanks to all.
Hello can you help me please, I have a civic 11 and I don't know how to connect the controls I have key 1 and key 2 cable but I don't know where to connect it.
Hi Help my place, I have Honda Odyssey 08, 2Din JVC 6.8 screen, I don't understand which wire to connect the music steering wheel controls, I have only 2 wires in JVC
It seems you have Metra 70-1721 which doesn't support steering wheel control (SWC). You need to solder a wire from pin 11 to Ground. A SWC compatible harness is available on eBay.

"...it's ten minutes to 4:20, so... We're gonna have to wrap this video up!"
Thanks for the video, I'm gonna try this in a bit.
on the factory harness, what's the 14 pin white and 5 pin light green plug useful.?
How did you connect the wires to pin 3 & 11? Did you solder? Also, does this work for the 2007 Honda Odyssey radio with navigation
Do you think or know if odyssey and pilot are the same set up ?
How did you find the pin for the steering wheel control? Did you just probe every pin until you found it?
benefactionhindrance I never did probe the pins. I just spent literally a couple of days Google searching and reading mostly from odyclub

I wonder if it is the same for my Acura Mdx 2006. There are so many wires unused and a few connectors that doesn't plug into my after market stereo

if you have the software built in to the stereo, you can pick what buttons you want.
@@BlueSkit How do I find out if I have the software? is there a name
