I like how u went on preparing the new versions of making fufu👍🏽 (without pounding) and making your light soup (Nkakraa). I was surprised (in a good way) on how u stirred the soup after u added your fresh fish & the smoked fish because that's exactly how we do it to avoid messing the wholeness of the fish..👌✌🏿👍🏽 Good job, and you get 95% for workmanship, effort, & and a well-done job as our Naija 🇳🇬 sista.
Wow!! Good job. You tried sha👍👍. But next time use ripe garden eggs. Some of us cook the garden eggs and pepper separately before steaming the meat or fish for the soup. After steaming for a while, then you blend the garden eggs and pepper and add it to the meat or fish being cooked. You can then add your onions and okro and tomatoes to cook for a while before u blend it. But u did a great job 👍.
Looks fantastic and would love to try. I am in US and some ingredients I would have to go to various ethnic/niche markets to obtain. My problem though and this video has me scheming how I would do this, including hiring a local West African woman (or otherwise convincing!) to prepare! One naming thing: while you call the fish you obtained "salmon" in GH, we in US identify salmon as a totally different species of fish. AI chat is indicating that I would identify the GH salmon as "chub mackerel". Just FYI and always find it interesting to discern these normal types of language differences if I can.
U did very well. But the pepper 🌶 too much ooo. Everybody has a different version of preparing light soup. Nxt time u can try vegies like red, green bell pepper 🫑 , carrots or if u go to the market, ask about the small green peas, use a hand ful, and blend to the soup. It would give u another amazing teste. Welcome to Ghana, guys!
Really, do you need garden eggs because it’s fish? This is the first time I’m hearing this. I don’t think it’s necessarily true because it’s always the base of the soup rather this your seasoning ( you just want to get rid of the pungent fishy smell so you can double up on your spices ie garlic, ginger and peppers)
I was scared for you when you were cutting the prekese, scared you could cut your hand, anyway I like helping mum to cut okro and removing the bones from the salmon or tuna, some pieces always find their ways into my mouth and i dont know why😉
My sista, u don't need to sieve your blended steamed/boiled vegetables when u r doing Light Soup (known in Twi/Akan =Nkakraa). U just leave it as it is because u want to taste & feel the little crumbs of everything when eating the fufu or drinking the soup.. You actually did a great job I must admit for real, as a Nigerian preparing Ghanaian🇬🇭 local/traditional delicacy..👏🏻👏🏾👏🏽👏🏿👏👍🏽✌🏿👌
Your blended unripe plantain and cassava was too thin for my liking. It should have been thicker since you were going to pound it in the Asanka. That's why your Fufu was very soft. Anyway, I'll give you 90%. Kudos!
For what I know, the soup looks great. While I was in Ghana sometime ago in the Western Region and Central Region, I noticed that the locals there tend to make light soup with fresh red snapper fish. I have say, the flavour was amazing. By the way, due to the acid in the cassava, it's best to boil it first, before blending. As you know, Ghanaians boil the cassava before pounding.
It’s because they are predominantly fisherfolk’s and fish is the most basic protein and it’s inexpensive. But the soup or all soups can be made with any protein of choice or a combination of them. Also try your light soup with carrots
The soup that Nigerians dont understand 😂😂😂this is real soup not the stew they call soup😅 soup all over the world is liquid. In ghana we have soup and stew. Soup is called nkwan and stew is called fro-ye or abomuu. Please i hope you cleaned your asanka before use oo. You can out in gari sprinkle a little water over it and grind the gari for about 5 minutes. Or grind raw cassava in it. Otherwise you will have sand in it always
Good attempt at preparing Ghanaian light soup. However, an authentic light soup of Ghanaian origin must be coourful-- tomatoes' colour's. Yours looks almost like a peanut ( ground nut soup) . Suggest you consult a Ghanaian to coach on how to make your version of light looks quite reddish. Good attempt though
Well it depends on the type of protein used and the kind of soup you’re preparing. If you’re using raw meat you don’t necessarily need to add prekese. Not every soup requires you to add prekese.
Befe, your diction is changing by the day. You're becoming more a Ghanaian oooo!!!!!
