Wow, wow, wow... Wow - Blue from Overly Sarcastic Productions is here XD
Was this before, after, or during the Time Heist?
Uninvited or simply distracted on the way there by a random dome?
@@TheFoxofKnowledge like the coolest thing ever! I can't believe two of my favourite RUclipsrs like each other!
wait, now I feel guilty for only being a patron of osp, and not also Nolke....
I’m sorry overly sarcastic productions!?!?!
Oh fuck lol
Such a powerful, historically accurate scene. My 10th grade history teacher was talking nonsense apparently.
they do that sometimes
Yes! They completely forget about the chips!
@@julienolke who knew that Senators in ancient Gre.. er..*Rome* would have an English accent?
@@julienolke 02:26 you should definitely dye your hair dark. Perfect compliment.
Interesting trolling strategy of getting the Mighty Julie to comment on your thread. Most times the gods comment when you appreciate them. No need to troll.
More 100% accurate history lessons, please.
Should be easy for a time-traveller.

Wow, I learned a lot about history from this. I always assumed all those ruins in modern-day Rome used to be completed buildings, so it's crazy to see that they were still ruins back in 44 BCE.
🤣
But apparently you could get chips. Such traditions to have handed down.
U mean Greece right? 😂
@@topherthe11th23 Socrates would be proud 😂
Eh there were ruins back then too. You ever wonder why Caesar, a senator, was stabbed at a meeting with all the other senators, at Pompey's theater? Why wouldn't the senate convene at the senate house? Because a some years back the two political factions (Caesar's populare faction versus the conservative optimate faction) descended into bloody gang violence, which got Caesar's ally Clodius murdered in broad daylight. Clodius supporters in turn decided to take him to the senate house and used it as his funeral pyre. Caesar was still in the middle of building a new senate house when he got shanked.
Ha ha, good thing that was ancient history, and we now live in stable modern democracies with strong political norms that absolutely definitely won't descend back into tribalism where supporters of a losing faction would do something crazy like storm the senate house!!!
The fact that she modelled the entire thing off ancient Greece is hilarious, and that this error was spotted and scrubbed out of the outro XD
LMFAO!!!!
That's what was bleeped? I was wondering about that. I figured a slur I didn't know about or RUclips being bad with certain words (I've seen "Mongol" left as a blank in captions because RUclips didn't pick up the "L" at the end)
this
To be fair, the Romans also modeled a lot of their stuff after ancient Greece
@@danieljensen2626 so it's actually... historically accurate. xD
I absolutely love that she held up two fingers in the shape of a V when asking if they'd be done by 5. Nice detail!
@@topherthe11th23 That's Roman Numerals, Greek Numerals are letters of the Greek Alphabet.
@@teoval1827 Whoosh!
@@okletmesignupSo, whats the whoosh for? Jason never talked about Greek Numerals, and Topher's comment isn't funny or related to anything in the comment or the video in any way, so... ... ..... .... ... what's your deal?
@@topherthe11th23 Now that's reverse whoosable , haha
@@teoval1827 yeah, I'm just gonna guess Topher did the explaining for me
"Et tu, Bru- WTF?! Who's dropping dill pickle chip crumbs on me?!"
🤣🤣🤣🤣
Dropping Dill Pickle chips?? Now THAT'S what makes Julius Caesar a tragedy! What's next? Poisoning Socrates with poison Ketchup Chips??
CREON I SWEAR TO JUPITER YOU RUINED MY MOMENT
Wow! Julie just took one of the most famous historic events and brought it to life as we all know it was, except Cyrus was a little taller.
blame my researchers for that flub
My resources also say he had pink hair just for future videos - but everything else was spot on !❤
Dang so is it actually 99.99% historically accurate?
Fun fact: There were about 60 senators that night. Caesar was stabbed only around 23 times and some of the senators actually stabbed each other during the frenzy.
Yeah... we also noticed Cyrus in the video thanks...
lol
Friendly fire in a stabbing is pretty embarrassing…
That's actually where "backstabbing" came from. Or Bacchus' Stabbingus, as it was then called, as people tried to divert the blame on one of their gods.
So it wasn't even a majority decision! Booh! Caesar was robbed!
Yep... Because of "the frenzy."
Accidentally.
_Not_ a convenient cover for sticking _your sword_ in the guy that stuck his sword in your wife.
Good example of why I hate event planning. Great work again, Julie!
Imma have to translate this for my (non-English speaking) kids. There is so much wrong with the version they learn in school. Always the same, so many enthusiastic stabbers, and only Brutus, the spotlight grabbed, gets the credit.
you're the hero we all need
"That's what separates us from the barbarians". Great line.
Creon and Euclides: wtf, I am in the wrong ancient civilization! Cyrus: tell me about it
When you first said '25 symbolic stabs' I totally expected one of the Julie's to say something like 'Oh, they were supposed to be symbolic? Ooops' and then all of them discussing freaking out over her actually stabbing Caesar. This works also. Also we need to see more of 'dark-haired' Julie. It's a good look (along with many others you have).
A whole sketch built around that one scene from Mean Girls is pure genius
I lost it when I saw Julie wearing the mustache, single eye-crossed, sticking out her tongue in a weird/dorky way and hunched over with her sword LMAO! Too funny lol. Also, I was not expecting to see her wear black hair at all!!!
Fun fact: the version of Latin spoken in ancient Rome sounded almost identical to modern day British English. So historical!
Lol, I actually started to google that fun fact 🤦♀😂
@@TinaDanielsson Haha yeah it would have been very weird if a germanic language happened to sound super similar to latin
@@scarletempress2652 Haha yeah. In my (obviously) delirious state I found it interesting. But just as I pressed the search button I was like "Wait, what?" 🙈
@@TinaDanielsson Lol, I mean I didn’t get close to googling it but I did almost believe it for a second heh
Actual fun fact: Today's North Americans' sound more like the English actually did back then. It was after the American revelotion that they started to "posh-up" their accent. No place for this but I can't help myself.
It's just too easy to say Ancient Greece, especially when the grease-chips pun is right there. Thank Dionysus for post-production, though; that ROME overlay on the mouth was seamless.
could barely tell no?
As a historian, I can confirm that this is highly accurate. It's clear that the team of historical researchers overlooked no detail. Accurate down to the cardboard swords. I've got hope for the next generation of historical scholars.
I love how Julie talks about better health by stating "talking to other people". And her skits are always her talk to many of herself xD
Spoke to Marty and Doc Brown. They agree that this is exactly what happened.
I really want the reaction video of Editor Julie realizing she said Greece through the entire roll.
She decided to do the whole thing over again, two days later realised that "Japan" was also incorrect.
As a historian, I absolutely love this.
I'd love to see more sketches on the Ancient -Greece- Rome era.
The two fingers for 5 minutes got me, absolutely brilliant
Caesar sent Brutus out for a dozen doughnuts. When Brutus got back there where only ten left. So Cesar says ,” et two brute?”
Solid gold Julie! You always make my Thursday's! 😁
Good one! Thanks for the accurate historical documentary! I just learned this right now from you (I'm from an other part of the world, our history lessons were area specific, etc).
I would love to see ancient *beep.* It sounds like an interesting civilization where everyone is the same person and yet nobody can get along.
This is clearly ancient Rome and not ancient Greece as they didn't have chips in Greece. Also, filming on location is just an incredible touch I was not expecting. Amazing work Julie!!!!
Damn, I knew I shouldn't have skipped that day in history class!
I'm here to fill in the blanks
My mind is BLOWN. Everything I thought I knew about Ancient [ROME] is now in doubt. I have so many questions: what was Vespasian's favorite snack chip? Would the spectators at the Colosseum have enjoyed pepperoni pizza-flavored Combos? Would Caligula have benefitted from a service like Betterhelp? (Willing to bet he would've, if he didn't have them all killed.)
I remember this from English literature class when we discussed the deleted scenes from Shakespeare's play. Much debate on the decision to remove this for pacing reasons.
Greece beeped for Rome so perfect
"Done by 5" with the V hand sign was amazing
julie is the best comedian on youtube no cap
After witnessing a historical stabbing I do need to see a Better Help therapist.
It's always a great day when you post !!
Yes please more of this and anything else your incredible mind somehow continues to come up with.
All hail Julie! 😊
Honestly, Creon could have just taken the sword of the person who left.
fuccckk why didn't he think of that?! That's history for you
@@julienolke It's a wonder how they managed to stab Cesar's eye at all ! ^^
Your videos are great, btw. Big fan.
No, they probably needed it for the thing they were going to... that they couldn't miss... that requires a sword...
@@WHTJunior Stabbing was not just a jib but a life-style, so they probably had scheduled some important home-stabbing
I needed this today. Thank you, Julie
I like the holding up two fingers to convey "five" bit🥰
Love this! Also laughed out loud as the ancient Greece / Rome correction! ❤️
Oooh goldmine of content! Loved it!
So accurate. From the Acropolis in the background, to the Greek robes to a woman with a British accent calling crisps chips. 100% accurate. Source: I was there.
Thank heaven for Julie and the Internet. Keep it up J. More history!! I want to find what else Mr. Haberman didn't teach us!!
You’re doing great work, my friend, truly appreciate that.
I appreciate you!
@@julienolke you should do one on pyramid & aliens ;)
I dunno, I've been disappointed by Julie's sketches recently, all while SNL is in rebuilding mode! Not a good scouting report. Hashtag: I'm a hater who loves her friggin' face.
I remember hearing about this version back in school. Nice to see it realized as a video.
Excellent! You stepped up you game with this video. 👏👏👏👏
This was brilliant. Gosh, I love this channel.
“Let’s hope so”. This line in particular transported me back ancient not Greece.
Someone literally walked up to one of the conspirators, Casca, as they were waiting outside with the entire senate and said "Brutus told me your little secret. How dare you keep me in the dark like this" but he was just upset at Casca for running for Aedile.
I like how Caeser's only complaint is "Oww my eye"
When Cassius saw those chips he had a lean and hungry look.
Wow the audio mixing is phenomenal! Unbelievable that this is one person doing all the parts and then mixed in post.
What do ya mean one person?
Brilliant as always!!!!
Julie, the smile that came right after "who knew they had chips" is just everything.
Caesar: "I have an important announcement to make. I have invented a new salad."
Also Caesar: *Gets stabbed by a bunch of sharp pointy things*
Wow, 100% accurate, even down to the oft-forgotten "I'll go first, I just need a sword" quip. Genius!
LOL!!! Your shows are therapeutic and funny!! THANK YOU!!
Excellent skit, Julie. You should definitely consider teaching history at some stage!
Preferably ON stage ☝🏼
I wasn’t sure if this was going to be historically accurate, thank you for making sure to clarify!
More importantly than the whole historically accurate stabbing thing; love the hair Julie! Always fun when someone decides to do something creative with their looks
A testimonial.
I use to hate history. It seemed so boring, people I didn't know, dates, ...
But thanks to Julie Nolke's Factual History videos I now love history! It's not boring, the people in the past are just like me! They liked chips, well so do I! If they weren't dead I know we would be friends.
So if you want a fun and enjoyable way to learn true history, try Nolke's Factual History. Your brain will thank you. ;-)
Thanks Julie I have a test about this tomorrow, wish me luck !
Forget history class, Julie's videos should be added to the high school curriculum, they're FAR more accurate and entertaining! 😂🤣
😂🤣 if I'd had you for a history teacher, I'd have loved it! 😂 I loved this, can you do more?
Caesar: Marked safe from the stabbing.
This is amazing! The licking of the mustache broke me!
Kept expecting the guy who forgot a sword to ask to borrow the pen.
Mightier still ...!
This funny dark video is therapy, which we need. I've been to many business meetings, there is always an eye stabber.
Thanks, Julie. You are priceless.
Priceless!
99 percent accurate to when I try to set up study group meetings, minus the stabbing an emperor part lol.
Literally everyone who has ever tried to coordinate a group presentation.
This was very good!
The subtle reaction from the ladies about the "go by age" idea was on point!
That was so out there and hilarious great sketch
“You forgot your sword on Ceaser-stabbing night? The one thing you need for stabbing”
“Yeah, yeah- but I brought chips!”
Fantabulous.
The one in the blond wig was like, "OMG, you know what, Caesar? You get murdered first for once!"
Julie this just clears up so much. Willie. Weedy. Winky.
This might just be the best one yet.
Thank you so much for the hilarious "five" hand gesture!!!
Can I just say this? Brutus and his conspirators are surprisingly easy on the eyes.
well done... please have more skits of "herstory according to julie"... btw...great product placement with the fritos... i had to go get some fritos and a pepsi right after watching this video
That was right up there with the Wayne and Schuster version 🙂
Good Grief, there's a... uh... stab from the past.
This is precisely how I remember it being taught by my history teacher. Fun fact: he was missing an eye.
love the "it's a foreign country in ancient times; that's like posh British right?" trope
I love everything this woman does 🧡
Perfect edit. I almost didn’t even notice.
Man I am astounded that you found documentary footage of this event!
Nice choice of chips, I love scoops!!! I see you have the original. The scoops hold more stuff!

Taking notes
Does anyone remember Mork and Mindy?
I think Julie’s skits are every bit as entertaining.
"Nanu...Nanu."
@@edouardbeauvais exactly
I think this woman is as talented
The irony of doing this and thus learning it was Rome not Greece means it works as an educational tool! 😁
Completely historically accurate. Apart from Caesar not being an Emperor. But don’t worry about that small detail cuz you did great.
The way she says "issues" @ 1:16 makes me realize this is historically accurate.
I learned so much! If only history class in school was like this.
At this point, it almost doesn't matter what she's doing. It's Julie Nolke! She's freaking awesome.
Et tu Nolke? Nah man, I ain’t et nuthin’
