Hey guys, I’m back with another video and I’m sharing with you 5 Tips On How To Grow Back Your Thinning & Damaged Edges. It’s a popular question I’m often asked, so I thought I’d put together some of my best tips, which I hope you’ll find useful. If you enjoyed this video, remember to LIKE, SHARE & SUBSCRIBE for more videos 😘
I've somewhat given up the ghost. During my pregnancy back in 2017-18, my hair grew the best until late November I stupidly relaxed it. Since then, it's been stagnant with barely new growth. But the edges are even worst, it's almost as if I have alopecia, lol. For over 1 year I've been wearing wigs and no great improvement so really don't know what else to go. Except I will mix the peppermint and coconut oils, use on edges then see what will happen.
Thanks always for your tips.
Nads FranksV Ahh...you’re welcome! We all go through problems with our hair at some point. But yes, try that combination and just make sure your consistent. It really does take time to see results, but the more you do it, the likely you are to notice improvements.
“If you declare with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.” Romans 10:9 “For God so loved the World that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.” John 3:16 That’s how much he loves us that he sacrificed his own Son so that we wouldn’t have to be in Jesus spot so that we wouldn’t have to suffer.💕💕❤️

I was told I have traction alopecia and after years of tension on my edges, that there is nothing that could be done. But I serve a faithful God and I'm believing for restoration and growth to my hair and edges 🙌
Yes, ANYTHING is possible, keep holding that faith 🙏🏾
That's all you need sis.
This is me, I pray over my hairline and use almond oil, mixed with peppermint oil. ❤️
Anything is possible as long as you take action along with that faith.
Irish Moore Amen sister!
Hey y'all. I hope you have a beautiful day. Jesus loves you and he's here for you no matter what.

Edges, edges, edges pls grow back. I think I lost my battle to grow them back but still soldiering on🤞🏾🙏🏽
Yes, keep going and don’t give up! 🙏🏾
be consistant with your favorite oils and her tips + you can create an oil mixture with henna, amla, msm. I didn't give up and take picture every month if you can to track it or not.
@@aichagamal thank you. I am currently using my own oil mixture and I have noticed a big change with my nape. The hair there has definitely became thicker and fuller...edges its a waiting game 🤞🏾
@@Fafa81 Me too but I see the change even though we can see the difference with the rest of our hair. I am happy for your regimen results and will be rooting for us too.
When the hair follicles are gone, the hair will not grow back. Those areas will remain bald.
Finally a British accent . Thanks girl now when u give recommendations on products I can actually get them. 🙂🙃🙂
😄 No worries and yes you can 👌🏾I’ve got a video sharing all the products I use on my hair, so definitely check it out; bit.ly/2t33BWK
mu3ic2 I completely concur ha ha
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣👍🏽
👍 for real though!!
@mu3ic2 I said the same thing. Great to hear a British sister.
1. Avoid tight hairstyles (tension hairstyles)
2. Avoid hair tools (eg head bonnets with elastic bands or hard brushes)
3. Ensure that you are moisturizing edges
4. Check vitamin [mineral] deficiencies (iron, zinc vitamin b)
5. Use hair growth oils (peppermint oil and lavender oil) 3-4 times per week
Vitamin d as well
Finally found the same texture of my hair thanks alot for your apploads
You're so correct about the hair bonnet. I noticed my hairline thinning when I started using it. Thank you for the tips🥰
Ahh...I’m glad it helped and no worries 🥰
Because I you I started growing my hair because I saw your hair growth video when u first started growing your hair . It's very inspiring. Thanks ❤️❤️❤️

Very informative video subscribed straight away! Much love
Thanks for subscribing! Glad you found it useful! 🤗
i understand what you mean about getting your box braids done, at the salon they like to put hot water on the edges as if it will reverse the damage.
i started doing my own box braids because when i do it im not tight, and i invest in yarn braids, 100x better
Thank you! This video is wonderful...very informative!
Ahh...you’re welcome! Good to hear 🤗
Julie, I’m rewatching the videos that changed my hair journey and yes, this one has opened my eyes again. I’m prone to iron deficiency anemia and because of my skin’s very high melanin content, I struggle with vitD levels in this British weather. Perhaps that is the reason for my struggles with thinning hair around the edges and crown section🤷♀️ I’ll get on a good supplement and see how it goes after 100 days x
Yes, definitely try out some supplements and get some advice on the best ones to take. But I’m sure it will help alongside a good diet and plenty of water. Keep me posted on how you get on 💕
Try liquid multivitamins all in one
1. Avoid tight hairstyles
2. Avoid certain hair tools - e.i hats, gel, tight hair bands etc - overtime they cause damage
3. Remember to moistures and seal your edges
4. Check vitamin deficiencies e.i iron
5. Use stimulating hair growth oils such as peppermint, lavender, rosemary, clary and age, cedar wood - mix with carrier oils
It's clary sage oil.
I love you for this
What about castor oil? Does it work

I'm so glad I subscribed to your channel. Last week I cut my waist length locks,to the scalp. Not only were they hotter than usual. But. I was experiencing breakage around the edges. And. I was having more breakage or thinning locs.. I'm not sure why this year. But, I've been told that happens sometimes. So,, thank you for the edge checklist.. Much Respect. Peace always

I just did the big chop after watching your video. I’m ready to make a change...no more perm.

Thank you for these 5 Tips Gorgeous!!😘🥰
You’re so welcome hunny 😘
Thanks 😍😍
1. Tight hairstyles
2.certain hair tools
3.Moisturize and seal
4.Check hair deficiencies
5.hair growth oils
Other ways except
1. Leave your hair edges out when braiding.. so tell whoever braiding is braiding to leave those frontline, back or side edges hair out u can actually go to the salon having lined those hair out
2. Make the braids lose where the edges are. And also all the other once
3. U hair should not be tight that your forehead and eyes are also pulled back.
4.dont manipulate your hair after coming from salon or from whoever did u braids, do not touch or style it,leave it for 2 days to watever days until it feels loose and not painful.
5. Avoid doing hair too tight (e.g.tying a bun)
6. When undoing you hair (removing braids) doing it carefully especially around the hairline/edges-dont pull it out do it gently
Thank you fur the extra tips
Great tips 👌 thanks for sharing 💙

Thank you.....I never focused on sealing my edges. I need to get more disciplined on massages 3-4 times a week, just as I work out 4 times a week. Sealing edges and keeping them moisturized is what I will try.
You’re welcome! Yeah definitely give it and try and as you said, just be consistent with it to see results! 🙌🏾

Another tips, if yall too lazy to do scalp massage/ you can also do handstand like 2 times per day whenever you feel like moving a little bit. It makes blood flow in your head and it helped me alot
It will be fun trying to haul myself up in an handstand
Or just hang off your bed or couch upside down
Really does it help you to grow your edges? please clarify can I do it on my bed hanging my head low?

Wig bands are a Whole game-changing Godsend!!!
What is that
I really appreciate you for showing us realistic and comparable "before" and "after" photos on your thumbnail. Most people show a clear "before" photo but the "after" is not taken the same way so that you can observe the progress. And I think it is because there really is no progress but they don't want you to see that. I can see that there was real progress from your "after" picture. Thanks for being real.
Ahh...you’re welcome! Glad it’s appreciated 🤗
That ascent is amazing
Thank you 😄
For the bonnets with the elastic around the edge, I find wearing it inside out solves the problem. Now I only purchase satin scarves.
Great! That’s a good idea 👍🏾

Going through this now. Damages my edges with wigs and surprisingly faux butterfly locs was the last straw. My hair had enough. I've been moisturizing more and letting my hair grow free. No more tension hair styles for me.
Yeah, letting go of all the tension will definitely make a difference overtime!
❤️❤️Great video
Thank you 🤗💛
I use wild growth hair oil as a carrier oil and I put Rosemary oil in it. I also take Hairfinity hair vitamins.
Sounds like a great mix! 👌🏾
Not to do:
1. TIGHT HEAIRSTYLES
2. CERTAIN HAIR TOOLS
To do:
3. MOISTURIZE AND SEAL
4. CHECK VITAMIN DEFINICIES
5. HAIR GROWTH OILS
You're a darling Scheba thanks💕
Just turned in...However even if u have done all these, what about when you are going through the menopause, vsise that causes change to your hair.
@@eu1ag153 nothing we can do about that or is it?

Me just getting box braids 2 days ago:👁👄👁
How do you protect your hair from breaking and split ends if you don’t wear protective hairstyles?
My hairline is thin possibly due to wearing long braids for many years, but I’ve big chopped twice and my hair is growing, but the split ends won’t stop, no matter how often I cut them. So when I wash or comb my hair the ends shed like crazy. So I wear wigs as my protective style, and that’s it for me, but my hair is growing.
Do the egg yolk and olive oil treatment
Thank love this was very helpful!
Good to hear and you’re welcome!
I was losing hope on my bald edges, but I have been very hopeful
I chopped my hair and restart all over again, my edges are still behind, but I see some hair follicles coming out,I'll keep on working on them
What I do everyday: LCO, extra massage on my edges everyday before I go to bed with blackseed( any other available oil) ,peppermint and rosemary together
Normal wash day: prepoo, deep condition with heat using DIY ( avocado+oils), LCO
Am hopeful🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾
Heyy is there any progress on your edged?

I love this video.😍 A new Sub all the way from South Africa 🇿🇦 ❤️
Ahhh! Thanks for subbing 🤗❤️
THIS IS SO HELPFUL😀😀I'm genuinely so happy to have come across this video because I've been so confused and worried as to why my edges are thinning. Since we're still under lockdown in South Africa. I've just always have had my hair in twists and I've always made sure that they weren't tight. It has crossed my mind that my bonnet could be the reason but since it's made from saturn, I really didn't think it would inflict damage to my edges. But now that someone has confirmed it... I'm definately getting myself a silk scaf...... And I'm definately trying out the rest of your suggestions....
THANK YOU SO MUCH😁😁😁😁

You’re so welcome! I’m glad my video has helped you figure out the possible cause 🙏🏾 But yes, try using a satin/silk headscarf to see if it makes a difference and keep me posted on how you get on! Btw, thanks for liking, sharing and subscribing ☺️❤️

I hadn't oiled my edges or scalp this entire year until a few nights ago when I realised how drastic the hairloss on my forehead edges had got. I'm so depressed and worried it's permanent, but will be keeping my scalp and edges oiled from now on. Can only try. And if not, well then your girl is saving up for that trip to turkey.
How are you edges now?
@@deanncopeland It's interesting, since my comment I found out I have scalp psoriasis and that was what was exasperating the hair loss. I'm now using a low steroid treatment which has really cleared my scalp up and helped a bit with halting the hair loss However, I still want to get a transplant at some point just to restore some of the permanent loss.
Nice video I hope your video will help course i've been struggle with growing my hairline and I even cutted my hair last year to try to grow my hairline.
Thanks! It’s definitely worth trying, but also try to remain consistent and give it plenty of time.

Whey british!😉👍🏾 my edges seem to get thin during winter cos its cold and causes a dry scalp.
(I know im low on Vit D atm cos the stockists dont make my prescribed ones anymore)
I found out I've been massaging my edged the wrong way also
Well at least you know the causes and what to do about it 🙌🏾
Lack of vitamin D3 and iron will make your edges disappear
Thank you for this info. My edges have been thin for a couple of months now and I could not figure out why. I might just be low on vitamin D again.
Edit: I’ve been taking D3 & K2 combined supplements for just a couple of weeks and my edges have already grown in.
bye i had deficiencies in both 💀
true
But if you wear a wig or weaves, then they are the reason. It's not a vitamin deficiency

Do you know if it’s a form of alopecia? Have you damaged your scalp in anyway? I’d definitely recommend seeing a trichologist to get some professional advice. They may be able to provide you with something that could help.
I love your accent 💕

Right, my bonnet was causing my edges to thin especially the back.
Yhh, I just use a durag now
Do a Jamaica one
Great video. What of box braids using the knotless method?
As long as it’s not tight and you’re not always wearing them back to back, then it’s fine.
How often do you moisturize and seal.
Ive lost my edges without even realizing it.Till this day,I still don’t know how it happened,I checked what I was doing before and I’d always wear my natural hair,in twists are things like that they weren’t that tight. However,I know for sure that I had my big and pretty bad phase where I couldn’t take care of anything about me including my hair.I feel so awful and ashamed about it right now :(
same here, I had that phase as well, especially during the lockdown
@@suziewilliams2146 stay strong !
Have you checked your vitamin levels?
Hi, so I used to be on natural hair and I steady put my hair in tight high puffs a lot! That was the only style I did. With time I noticed my edges began to recede and I relaxed my hair, but it got only worse. I’m considering doing the big chop to start all over, or what do you advice? Would it improve if I do a big chop?
I definitely put my locs up way too much and I have it tightly most of the time so now I gotta stop and just try it to find some other style instead of that 😩 I’m literally the worst with doing my hair 🤦🏽♀️
Wow thx
Welcome!
