Frankly, I would respect her more if she would just openly say “yeah the system is fucked up and I took advantage of it; it doesn’t feel right, but I don’t regret it” but that’s not what she’s saying. • @St.JohnWort
      @St.JohnWort Год назад

      Trust me, Hasan, just like his connections through The Young Turks, literally named after a genocide that the group has only just began to acknowledge, aren't Socialists or Communists, they are what one would call a champagne Socialist. He is a grifter Capitalist that takes advantage of his young audience's naivety for profit. He complains about wealth disparity while owning a mansion and dozens of luxury cars that he continuously brags about on his streams and social media. He argues against company exploitation and human rights violations committed by these companies yet shills and directly collaborates with Amazon, one of the worst violators in both categories. He argues about the social class struggle while he is probably one of the most privileged groups on the planet (from a socio-economic and political stance), though he will spout how discriminated he is. There are many more discrepancies between what he claims to fight for and support and what he actually is but it would take an entire doctorate's research paper to go over. For instance, we could discuss how he is part of the political homogeneity which represents the establishment corporations and supported almost ubiquitously by the wealthy elites and global power moguls yet claims that he represents the peasantry.
      He uses the luxuries of Capitalism to espouse the greatness of Socialism, all of the countries which throughout history decayed into an authoritarian dictatorship, with a crumbling economy constantly bouncing between hyper-inflation and recessions, and some of the worst offenses of human rights violations and wealth gaps between economic classes, far worse than what Capitalism ever had, to turn a profit on dreamers; he literally runs ads and shills for corporations more than any other Twitch streamer in existence.

    As someone who worked at an amazon warehouse and experienced firsthand how terrible they are to workers, at this point id rather support a gambling site than amazon even though they’re both bad.
    I have permanent health issues from working at amazon, and they overworked us so badly that I actually had TWO MINISTROKES in my time working there due to overheating, overworking, and not having enough time to drink water or use the bathroom without being penalized. Two ministrokes at the age of 20, that’s how much of a sweatshop amazon is. I was hallucinating and slurring my words, my face was sunken and twitching and the on-site safety worker had to personally drive me to the emergency room.
    They paid 17.25 an hour which is really good, but little did I know that all of the money I made at amazon would end up going towards my medical bills for the next year.
    Not only did I go into debt and become homeless because of amazon, I still deal with chronic life altering illnesses due to working there. Which pretty much makes it a gambling-tier issue.
    People are just picking sides because they like to feel like they’re “right” and “moral” over other people. Either that, or they’re just completely ignorant to how bad amazon is.
    People have died at amazon and nobody even knows that because they try so hard to cover up anything that could make them look bad. They lure you in with good pay even without qualifications (preying on the most financially vulnerable, they don’t even interview you, they just do a mouth swab drug test and you’re hired), diversity, free shoes, fancy breakrooms stocked with food. They don’t tell you that your entire paycheck will end up going to their amazon care doctors because they won’t let you get worker’s compensation unless you meet a very specific nearly impossible list of requirements to prove that amazon was responsible for your injury or illness.
    At least kick is straight up about what they do, and give people the option to support their favorite streamers without participating in that part of their business.

    • @inteldogg
      @inteldogg Год назад +1

      @@morganicsmoothie964 You’re absolutely right! And if this is how it is here in the US, imagine how bad it must be in countries that are more unregulated when it comes to labor laws and safety. It’s horrific to think that my experiences at amazon are only the tip of the iceberg.
      It’s easy to ignore corruption until you see and feel it firsthand. Only thing this debate has revealed is how ignorant ppl are when it comes to things that don’t directly affect them.
      Lot of workers wont even say anything because they’re so used to being manipulated and mistreated and they tell themselves “it’s just how it is, nobody cares and there’s nothing i can do, I need to work harder. my coworkers seem to be handling this, so why cant i? I need to put my head down, fix my mindset, the harder i work the stronger i am right?”
      I hate throwing around psych terms like this, but workers really do get gaslit into thinking its okay to be physically and mentally abused because of all these “perks” and “opportunities” that amazon waves in front of your face like a carrot on a stick. There’s propaganda-like posters everywhere, they have these almost comedic corporate meetings to make you focus on “positivity” and “teamwork” etc. The juxtaposition of the experience vs the brainwashing would be almost laughable if it wasn’t so effective.
      To this day my rational mind tells me that I nearly died in that warehouse, but my emotional mind tells me that I miss working there sometimes, or that I might’ve been overreacting despite ending up in hospital on multiple occasions. If that’s not a result of corporate brainwashing then idk what is.
      Ofc people will minimize the corruption if even the workers are trained DAILY to minimize their own experience. This shit runs deep and I hope more people start speaking on it

      Yeah hasan's editor didn't really explain his point well. What he's trying to say is that Adin Ross was literally paid off by Stake to advertise gambling to minors, and he's been very open to admitting this in the past and present. At the same time, Charlie makes a good point about both companies being at equal evil. Both sites do shitty things, although in my opinion, the dealbreaker was Kick completely allowing Adin Ross to roam free and spew hate speech on the platform. He's broken TOS so many times on basis of hate speech and Kick just turns their heads the other way while he incites violence against trans people.

    • @Tayl0r_

      @@Frickno-fl9ulI thought Twitch has had a very similar issue with TOS violations, people like Adin Ross inciting violence against trans + queer + etc folks many times over in the recent past.
      Back when CSGO Gambling sites and kickbacks from those gambling sites were a big thing, streamers funneled a ton of minors into 3rd party gambling sites, gacha games, etc.
      and also IP2 streamers like IcePoseidon, Bladee, (or others associated with the ip2 RV gang) I believe came back multiple times from being banned for their irl stunts involving text to speech and b*mb threats. Twitch is no different. Same monster, different color.
      They just have more $ to moderate and censor nowadays.

    • @Frickno-fl9ul
      @Frickno-fl9ul Год назад

      @@Tayl0r_ While it is true that Twitch has had these people in their past, a good lot of them are now permanently banned from the platform. Twitch is usually nowadays good at actually enforcing their guidelines on things like hate speech. I do know this happened in the past, however it doesn't match what is happening in the modern day. However, Adin Ross is still inciting violence against various minorities on Kick, and has been "threatened". he was signed on the platform a month before so obviously nothing will come from it. In my opinion a company that used to do these things is better than a company that endorses, signs on creators, encourages and is too spineless to even think about banning creators who promote hate speech. In other words, Twitch just has better moderation and morals coming to minority hate speech.

      However Twitch is no different, do not disillusion yourself.
      The difference between the two platforms is only money/income, and time. The only reason Twitch has better moderation is due to the pressure they’re under since they have a monopoly on the market, therefore more advertizers and stockholders to please.
      If Kick had the same resources (and scrutiny), it would be no different. All these streaming services are a cancer and you should not be as comfortable as you are rn.
