Nah they actually have at least good reason for this, the anime was trailing not far behind the manga which was still not finished. Demon slayer already ended, their only excuse is that they are releasing like a 3 part movie and they needed to give something out.

I won't say Vinland saga is bad, but it's definitely not something that I'd enjoy as it doesn't have enough action for me which makes sense since the author doesn't like violence or something like that.

I wouldnt call it a 3/10 but the pacing compared to other seasons was really bad, they turned 9 chapters into 8 episodes, 2 of whoch were double length, whereas season 2 and 3 turned about 30 chapters into 10 episodes

When I first read/watched the part that's been adapted I think I'd give it an 8, which is still pretty good, but CSM started to enter my top 3 manga only after the anime stopped lol. I feel like the season ended in a way that made sense, but it was really stupid to have only 12 when mappa knew how much hype was around it
The muzan walk was never stretched out because they needed to fill in the episode. The episode itself was made longer than usual and i'm pretty sure it was for the walk. It was also an after credit scene. They could have done a normal length episode if they wanted.
Exactly Charlie also said this season was 5 chapters stretched out but the pacing was still good because they didn’t just go off 5 chapters but also added 50% anime original content

I liked the arc tbh. It developed the Hashiras more and other relations. I do admit the Muzan walk was odd af. Like an indian drama tv show with the length and effects. My theory is that they purposefully made this season longer and put most of their action animators to work on the movies whilst another team animated the non action episodes.
i think it’s just cause there wasn’t really a training arc in the manga it literally gets interrupted i had a feeling it being animated was gonna be bad tbh but to have tanjiro barely being able to beat a lower demon with the help of 4 people to being able to beat muzan in the after the infinity castle WITHOUT a single training moment feels rushed
they didn't develop Hashiras. They did have more screen time ofc but they did nothing of note accept tell Gyomeis backstory and even that did very little because it's a 5 minute part and that's all we know about him. This season did nothing good
It really didn't, though. It introduced nothing we didn't already know about the hashiras, and some of the characters they spent time on will literally never show up in the story again.
I don't think it's fair to say. It's the same situation with Steins Gate. You can't have an amazing moments that happens in 2nd parts of both shows, without great build up.
As someone who enjoyed season 4, I totally understand why people don't like it. "Meandering" is definitely a good word to describe it, but I generally enjoyed some of the character moments we got, even if they are pretty silly like the paper airplane tournament. But stuff like Himejima's backstory and the lead-up to the Infinity Castle, which were the best parts of the arc in the manga, were done really well here, much like the rest of the adaptation so far. Also Muzan's 5 minute walk across Ubuyashiki's yard was hilarious, and they played it twice. Craziest take was Ninja Kamui being a 7, that show is so nothing and I say that as a fan of ninjas and mechs. This is the first I've heard of AI art being used in the show, though I wouldn't be surprised, since the writing feels like ChatGPT generated most of it.
I'm kinda glad they gave the director of S1 only 12 episodes. The vibe of the worlds in the manga and anime is really different, and it didn't hit for me at all.

I’ve tried to watch demon slayer twice and I just can’t do it. The dialogue and story is absolutely impossible for me to sit through, but the animation is beautiful so I just watch the fights.
Imagine how much happier Demon Slayer fans or any fans of any media would be if they just ignored reviews and enjoyed it. At the end of the day, what one reviewer says about a piece of media doesn't mean it should be taken as fact lol. It's just an opinion
I think what irks anime fans is not the subjective part of the criticism, but the objective analysis of the series. For example, "I hate this 20 fps animation" would be an opinion derived from objectively false analysis if the animation was 30 fps or "this character is boring because he never won a fight" when in fact the character did win multiple fights. Criticisms like this irritate me.
This season is just a buildup for infinity castle. People will appreciate it more when everything is all said and done. You don’t get too much of the other hashira throughout demon slayer and this arc allows the watcher to get more attached to them and more of an understanding of who they are. And without this arc, the emotion in these next three movies wouldn’t be nearly as big.i believe This arc was necessary to make the ending that much impactful
This is the reason I don’t blame many anime only fans who complained about this season. You can’t really appreciate what Ufotable was trying to accomplish with the extra scenes and extending the whole arc unless you have the context of the next arcs. Personally as someone who’s read the manga, I thoroughly enjoyed this season and appreciated the fact that they gave more depth and detail compared to how obviously rushed it was in the manga. I’m sure they’ll do the same for the movie trilogy coming out. Regardless, I still do think this season was way too overhated.
Its fine to say JJK has a mid story but as we see here the same guy that said that also gave MHA a 9, nothing against MHA but it doesn't exactly have the most innovative narrative.
If the point of jjk is just action, then there shouldnt be any story at all. The fact that there is a story means that itll be judged based on the story along with its action.
Definitely not a 3/10, as people are saying this was the calm before the storm and it was needed for the story. Drawn out? maybe, but if there was a quick montage of their training then it would of been a very jarring experience how some of the characters went from just only being able to kill a lower moon or a low rank upper moon to taking on Muzan. within 1 episode.

Giving a show a 6/10 for the animation and action ALONE is already good. I gave Shibuya a 7/10, so it's about the same. And I gave Chainsawman a 9/10 because it actually has interesting and memorable characters. So yeah, it's not a stretch at all to see CSM being rated above JJK.
Something about popular Shonen feels fake or defective. I don’t know why but I can’t shake the feeling that they’re designed for popularity and money, not to be good.

MHA has gotten really damn good in the last couple seasons again. I don't think it ever "fell off" per say, but Seasons 4 and 5 definitely had some unevenness that slowed the story's momentum down. Thankfully, ever since around late Season 5 (the My Villain Academia arc) it's been consistently interesting and exciting since. And I can see why someone would prefer its story over JJK honestly. MHA has some really gripping and developed characters/subplots, meanwhile the story in JJK feels like it's only there to be a skeleton for the insane action.

Unlike other shounen series, it almost takes a slice of life/episodic approach to some of its arcs. And if you're not into that and want constant smoke, this show won't be for you That being said, Deku's desire to save people definitely isn't as generic as Charlie makes it out to be, agreed there. When they announced that they would be doing the Hashira Training Arc movie that came out a few months ago, I thought it was gonna be the whole arc in the movie because the manga chapters werent that long. I think they should have done the movie covering the whole arc then this season should have been Infinity Castle part 1.

I disagree that is was bad. I personally don't care that swords didn't go burr as much in the season. In this season we got to explore the characters of the Hashira way deeper than in the manga. Like the wind hashira, pretty sure in the manga the thing with his brother was all you ever really saw of him. But in the anime we got him fighting with snake boi and the water hashira and got to see more how he interacts with the other hashira. Or how we see how he effectively gives tonjiro a pass for breaking his ban on coming close to him, showing a level of forgiveness despite him being a super harsh character.
We all have a right to enjoy what we enjoy.... But imo the only redeeming factor of demon slayer was the animation/art style, the actual dialogue and narrative was a bit of a chore to get through with a lot of the character development moments feeling awkward

As much as I love DS, i kinda have to agree. I was kinda relieved knowing episode 8 was the final episode of the season. It doesnt matter if its setting up for the next arc or not, it doesnt matter if it was in the manga or not...fact is, the overall season was well...boring...this season could have appeared as OVA's or something instead. Other Anime has done a better job of creating filler or build up that was more exciting and engaging.
Really don’t know why people score shibuya so low when it’s a perfectly setup arc. The character development was good, the fights were amazing, the ost was great and the visuals were stunning. It could have had a little more narratively but it is pretty much a war arc so your mostly going to get fights.
it was extremely weak on character development imo. It also completely wasted Nobara which was a lot of people’s favorite. Yuji’s story also reused the same plot twist. I really think they needed more side characters in this section since Yuji is such a wet paper towel of an MC.
What character development? Having Yuji get mad for a few minutes every episode after someone dies is not character development. Don't get me wrong, Shibuya is a really fun arc to watch, but that is all it is. It has no depth and no development to it. Yuji is the worst MC out of any shounen I have ever seen, he doesnt even feel like an MC, Sukuna is way more of an MC than him. The hidden inventory arc now is a whole different beast, way better writing and character development and is actually the best part of JJK.
JJK is so overrated becuase the only thing people talk about is gojo,sukuna and the power fantasy of the show.Infact i would say yuta from the movie feels like a main character more than yuji

Wow, i completely disagree with his MHA take especially with season 6 as it's an 8.5/10 in my opinion and honestly my second favorite season. To just boil it down to "oh i gotta help all my friends" is so disingenuous and feels like a season 2 or 3 take especially the whole license arc thing when that takes place in season 3 and 4... it's been years since we've had anything to do with the academia part of the show which he doesn't like so i don't know why he focused in on that when season 6 had none of that, like c'mon if you're going to complain about it at least mention stuff that happened in the season and not stuff from s4 and 3

Without spoiling anything, I’d say that season 4 was the best decision Demon Slayer could’ve made. The whole point of season 4 is to make the last arc better than it already is. Good decision in my opinion.
I still don't get where the overwhelming hate for Muzan's 5 minute walk came from, the second time I watched it I laughed at how ridiculous the effects were but the first time I was on the edge of my seat. The strongest demon just casually strolling into the heart of our base with the Wisteria mist rolling off him, they gave him insane aura in that.

I think the hashira training arc served more of a purpose than anything else. As a manga reader i interpret it as the calm before the storm, the part on a rollercoaster where the ride is slowly going up hill. Had they done just a short montage of the hashira training arc then the infinity castle arc wouldn't have as much of a punch. But that's just my opinion, the entire training arc i was waiting scratching at my neck for Zenitsu moments Its only up hill from here on out boys
I will never understand Chalie's and other peoples obsession with JJK Season 2. I didn't even like Season 1 that much, but Season 2 was just a slog to sit through. Its literally just turn your brain off material. Are the fights amazingly animated? Sure. Im not gonna lie and say they weren't. But I could not give a shit about the story or characters. At that point, I could just watch clips of the fights on RUclips. And Charlie just saying Chainsaw Man is better to gooners is just him having shitty media literacy like a lot of other Chainsaw Man haters.

This arc was always supposed to be a calm before the storm type of vibe. This season was def not awful, pacing could have been better overall. But I thought it was a nice chill season before we got into the crazy shit. The last 3 movies are the end of Demon Slayer, so this season made a lot of sense before whats coming.
Everyone knows what type of season it was supposed to be it was just bad at doing that and the story overall would have been better if they choose to develop the hashira before hand probably by not killing off the lower moons

Rare IGN review W. Demon Slayers character writing is NOT good, so this past season that has focused mainly on character development has felt filler-y. It also feels cheap, like they’re trying so hard to make us feel for these characters who are going to die very soon. I’d maybe give it a 4 or 5, but yeah. Even the OP feels lazy with a shitload of still shots.
JJK S2 only gets a 7 from me for the main fact that it just wasn't finished when it was released. If you went to a restaurant and the server brought out your meal but the chef hadn't actually finished making it no amount of "Oh well he tried really hard but there wasn't enough time and he's been sleeping under the grill" will make up for the fact the meat is still half raw.
I agree with the vast majority of what Charlie said here. But IDK man, I REALLY enjoyed MHA Season 6. Animation wise it doesn't hold a candle to JJK obviously. (Apart from some certain scenes) But Mirko vs The Nomus, Shigaraki's rampage, Dabi Reveal, Vigilante Deku, Deku vs Class 1A, and Uraraka's speech were all genuinely fantastic. A 9 is too much I will agree. But I'd honestly say it was an 8/10.
It is actually a 9. This reviewer seems to value story and characters more than animation and cool fights and MHA does both better than JJk, especially in s6. And apart from a few moments in Deku vs Shigaraki, the animation is good. Not JJK or Demon Slayer level, but good. And I will always take story and character writing over animation.

But a 9/10 to me is a ranking reserved for the outstanding. 10/10 should be used to describe a movie/show that genuinely astounded you. Stuff like Dune 2, Spider-Verse, or Attack on Titan. 9/10 isn't far behind from that status. MHA Season 6 was amazing. I adored it. But despite some 9/10 and even 10/10 moments, overall it's only an 8/10 for me.

I think your enjoyment to JJK season 2 lies heavily on your preferences to this kinda shounen. Duh obviously everything is preference based but I more mean if this isn’t a world, has characters, power system, or story you previously cared about then this isn’t gonna change your mind. To me JJK is incredible but it’s also my kinda series. For context my favorite mangaka is Yoshihiro Togashi, favorite anime is Yu Yu Hakusho, and Hunter x Hunter I also believe is a masterpiece. Basically I’m saying YYH and HxH are some of my favorite series ever. JJK is the closest manga I’ve ever read that’s similar to Togashi’s style of storytelling. The plot, the writing, the characters, the power system, the structure, Gege Akutami really nails what made Togashi’s works so special and made them their own. Shibuya I feel is the ultimate culmination of everything that came before and everything that came after in such a dense perfectly exciting yet gut wrenching tragedy. Plus unlike Demon Slayer I’d say JJK isn’t carried by the animation either. Gege isn’t the best artist ever but the Hidden Inventory/Shibuya Incident era has without question the best art in the series. It’s not clean but it’s kinda of like a fluid messy that makes the action easy to read and exciting, plus the character designs are at their best since they’re expressive and soft with a little grit. It still may not be everybody’s cup of tea but this is one of the few times I think a series completely deserves all the hype and recognition it’s receiving.
The problem is IGN gave Jujutsu kaisen 0 a 9/10 and hidden inventory an 8/10 but somehow shibuya which a lot of people consider to be JJK'S peak is a 6/10. The rating is purely to get interactions.
JJK is more similar to Kubo than Togashi's works, even Gege has said he is heavily inspired by bleach (which has inspiration from YYH even though Kubo has never stated it) where even domain expansion is taken inspiration from Tosen's bankai and how Mai/Maki story part in season 1 is almost one to one direct copy of Yoruichi/Soifon backstory + relation.

There’s an interview somewhere out there where Gege states domains were actually inspired by territories from YYH. Yes there are plenty of elements of JJK that were inspired by Kubo, Togashi’s influence I feel is much strongly present in Gege’s writing. Cursed energy is a system most similar to Nen, Geto’s backstory being directly inspired by Sensui from YYH, Nobara mentions by the the first Spirit Detective from YYH the chapter/episode she meets that girl who has a crush on Yuji. There’s even in anime subtle references where in Yuji’s battle against Mahito he strikes a stance similar to Gon’s Jajaken while focusing for a Black Flash, and the MAPPA hiring Killua’s VA in both the sub/dub for kid Gojo.
CULLING GAME’S > SHIBUYA The Maki Vs. Zenin clan fight , and Yuta with the 3 - WAY domain - expansion , along with seeing the GOAT Higaruma animated will break the internet.
I am happy with the season. I don't care about the slow pacing, or that there are 5 chapters in the manga (I didn't read the manga, so I wouldn't have known that anyway), I enjoy when important characters get further characterization, and I don't get why the show needs nonstop action to be "good". IGN complained about JJK season 2 having too much action, so I don't get what they want at this point.
I mean he’s allowed to think the characterization wasn’t well-executed. Many feel the characters, humor, and writing in Demon Slayer aren’t that strong compared to the action, even if it’s important for setting up future events. Vinland Saga s2 was like all characterization and no action, and I and many others still enjoyed it cause the characters are complex and well-written.
@@tealdrum5687 I also did enjoy VS s2 and found it to be more enjoyable than the first season, but comparing it to Demon Slayer does a deservice to both because one is a shonen, and one is a seinen, so one of them will always be simpler, less complex. This is not always the case with shonen, but I feel like any bonus characterization of the cast is welcome because it slowly adds emotional attachment to these characters. I get if he doesn't think it was well executed, but critiques like "nothing happens" and "they are stretching the plot" I find very reductive to what the season actually had in store.

While this season is overhated, y’all will appreciate it more when infinity castle is done. It gave the Hashira a lot of character development and it serves as a justification of powerlevels of tanjiro, inosuke, zenitsu, etc.

my way of approaching the 4th season was kind of like the last NORMAL moments of everyone on screen before shit hits the fan so i appreciated the season. definitely not the most action or hype moments but it was nice seeing all the hashira and everyone else that has been in the show in one little final gathering

I liked season 4 because you get to learn more about each hashira and see them be human. You get to see all their unique personalities as well as our three or four protagonists if you count nezuko and how they bounce off of Tanjiro. I really enjoyed the relationship building between the characters. If you didnt like it thats fine but it definitely wasnt bad. I feel like you only think its bad if you dont care about the characters and only want fighting. The characters are what sell the show

It's crazy how ufotable reinvented filler. It used to be that anime would start making filler once it caught up with the source material. Demon Slayer shouldn't have that problem since the manga already ended years ago. Any normal anime would've just reached the ending normally with minimal amount of fillers. They also recently announced like 3 different movies. It's obvious that they make a lot of money with Demon Slayer since it's one of the more popular anime out there.

Dude, Vinland Saga became one of my favourite animes of all time. Both seasons smashed my expectations. And also, this show is what Berserk wishes it could be. Not so much in story, but how it looks and how it's animated. I've been trying to get into Jujutsu Kaisen but something about the show is just not hitting right for me. Maybe it's the dialogue and the story. And I don't think switching to Japanese sub will help the dialogue. If I here someone talk about "cursed spirits" and "curses" and "jujutsu" one more time in that show, I will crack the shits. Elsewhere, I have been watching Hell's Paradise and I have been enjoying myself. Spy x Family was another show I ended liking a lot even though I wish the show would cool it with the recaps. Zom 100 was a great show that I kinda wish wasn't marred with production problems. I also started the OG Yu Yu Hakusho but I haven't gotten far yet. Still at the first tournament arc. Great Teacher Onizuka was another show I didn't expect to see ever, but man, that is ever a ride.

I wouldnt call it a 3/10 but the pacing compared to other seasons was really bad, they turned 9 chapters into 8 episodes, 2 of whoch were double length, whereas season 2 and 3 turned about 30 chapters into 10 episodes

The muzan walk was never stretched out because they needed to fill in the episode. The episode itself was made longer than usual and i'm pretty sure it was for the walk. It was also an after credit scene.
They could have done a normal length episode if they wanted.

My theory is that they purposefully made this season longer and put most of their action animators to work on the movies whilst another team animated the non action episodes.

they didn't develop Hashiras. They did have more screen time ofc but they did nothing of note accept tell Gyomeis backstory and even that did very little because it's a 5 minute part and that's all we know about him. This season did nothing good
It really didn't, though. It introduced nothing we didn't already know about the hashiras, and some of the characters they spent time on will literally never show up in the story again.

As someone who enjoyed season 4, I totally understand why people don't like it. "Meandering" is definitely a good word to describe it, but I generally enjoyed some of the character moments we got, even if they are pretty silly like the paper airplane tournament. But stuff like Himejima's backstory and the lead-up to the Infinity Castle, which were the best parts of the arc in the manga, were done really well here, much like the rest of the adaptation so far. Also Muzan's 5 minute walk across Ubuyashiki's yard was hilarious, and they played it twice.
Craziest take was Ninja Kamui being a 7, that show is so nothing and I say that as a fan of ninjas and mechs. This is the first I've heard of AI art being used in the show, though I wouldn't be surprised, since the writing feels like ChatGPT generated most of it.
The fact they only got 12 episodes in with csm was a shame, the movie and upcoming season is the part that we all love about it

I think what irks anime fans is not the subjective part of the criticism, but the objective analysis of the series. For example, "I hate this 20 fps animation" would be an opinion derived from objectively false analysis if the animation was 30 fps or "this character is boring because he never won a fight" when in fact the character did win multiple fights. This season is just a buildup for infinity castle. People will appreciate it more when everything is all said and done. You don’t get too much of the other hashira throughout demon slayer and this arc allows the watcher to get more attached to them and more of an understanding of who they are. And without this arc, the emotion in these next three movies wouldn’t be nearly as big.i believe This arc was necessary to make the ending that much impactful
This is the reason I don’t blame many anime only fans who complained about this season. You can’t really appreciate what Ufotable was trying to accomplish with the extra scenes and extending the whole arc unless you have the context of the next arcs. Personally as someone who’s read the manga, I thoroughly enjoyed this season and appreciated the fact that they gave more depth and detail compared to how obviously rushed it was in the manga. I’m sure they’ll do the same for the movie trilogy coming out. Regardless, I still do think this season was way too overhated.

Definitely not a 3/10, as people are saying this was the calm before the storm and it was needed for the story. Drawn out? maybe, but if there was a quick montage of their training then it would of been a very jarring experience how some of the characters went from just only being able to kill a lower moon or a low rank upper moon to taking on Muzan. within 1 episode.

MHA has gotten really damn good in the last couple seasons again. I don't think it ever "fell off" per say, but Seasons 4 and 5 definitely had some unevenness that slowed the story's momentum down. Thankfully, ever since around late Season 5 (the My Villain Academia arc) it's been consistently interesting and exciting since. And I can see why someone would prefer its story over JJK honestly. MHA has some really gripping and developed characters/subplots, meanwhile the story in JJK feels like it's only there to be a skeleton for the insane action.
Early season 7 was dogshit they just kept yapping but the actual action episodes have been really good ngl

Unlike other shounen series, it almost takes a slice of life/episodic approach to some of its arcs. And if you're not into that and want constant smoke, this show won't be for you
That being said, Deku's desire to save people definitely isn't as generic as Charlie makes it out to be, agreed there. And I am curious if he actually finished S6 because calling a 9 extremely generous is unfair to that season. It's at least an 8

I disagree that is was bad. I personally don't care that swords didn't go burr as much in the season. In this season we got to explore the characters of the Hashira way deeper than in the manga. Like the wind hashira, pretty sure in the manga the thing with his brother was all you ever really saw of him. But in the anime we got him fighting with snake boi and the water hashira and got to see more how he interacts with the other hashira. Or how we see how he effectively gives tonjiro a pass for breaking his ban on coming close to him, showing a level of forgiveness despite him being a super harsh character.
We all have a right to enjoy what we enjoy.... But imo the only redeeming factor of demon slayer was the animation/art style, the actual dialogue and narrative was a bit of a chore to get through with a lot of the character development moments feeling awkward

As much as I love DS, i kinda have to agree. I was kinda relieved knowing episode 8 was the final episode of the season. It doesnt matter if its setting up for the next arc or not, it doesnt matter if it was in the manga or not...fact is, the overall season was well...boring...this season could have appeared as OVA's or something instead. Other Anime has done a better job of creating filler or build up that was more exciting and engaging.

Really don’t know why people score shibuya so low when it’s a perfectly setup arc. The character development was good, the fights were amazing, the ost was great and the visuals were stunning. It could have had a little more narratively but it is pretty much a war arc so your mostly going to get fights.
it was extremely weak on character development imo. It also completely wasted Nobara which was a lot of people’s favorite. Yuji’s story also reused the same plot twist. I really think they needed more side characters in this section since Yuji is such a wet paper towel of an MC.

What character development? Having Yuji get mad for a few minutes every episode after someone dies is not character development. Don't get me wrong, Shibuya is a really fun arc to watch, but that is all it is. It has no depth and no development to it. Yuji is the worst MC out of any shounen I have ever seen, he doesnt even feel like an MC, Sukuna is way more of an MC than him. The hidden inventory arc now is a whole different beast, way better writing and character development and is actually the best part of JJK.

Without spoiling anything, I’d say that season 4 was the best decision Demon Slayer could’ve made. The whole point of season 4 is to make the last arc better than it already is. Good decision in my opinion.

I still don't get where the overwhelming hate for Muzan's 5 minute walk came from, the second time I watched it I laughed at how ridiculous the effects were but the first time I was on the edge of my seat. The strongest demon just casually strolling into the heart of our base with the Wisteria mist rolling off him, they gave him insane aura in that.

I think the hashira training arc served more of a purpose than anything else. As a manga reader i interpret it as the calm before the storm, the part on a rollercoaster where the ride is slowly going up hill.
Had they done just a short montage of the hashira training arc then the infinity castle arc wouldn't have as much of a punch. But that's just my opinion, the entire training arc i was waiting scratching at my neck for Zenitsu moments

I will never understand Chalie's and other peoples obsession with JJK Season 2. I didn't even like Season 1 that much, but Season 2 was just a slog to sit through. This arc was always supposed to be a calm before the storm type of vibe. This season was def not awful, pacing could have been better overall. But I thought it was a nice chill season before we got into the crazy shit. The last 3 movies are the end of Demon Slayer, so this season made a lot of sense before whats coming.

Rare IGN review W. Demon Slayers character writing is NOT good, so this past season that has focused mainly on character development has felt filler-y. It also feels cheap, like they’re trying so hard to make us feel for these characters who are going to die very soon. I’d maybe give it a 4 or 5, but yeah. Even the OP feels lazy with a shitload of still shots.
JJK S2 only gets a 7 from me for the main fact that it just wasn't finished when it was released.
If you went to a restaurant and the server brought out your meal but the chef hadn't actually finished making it no amount of "Oh well he tried really hard but there wasn't enough time and he's been sleeping under the grill" will make up for the fact the meat is still half raw.
I agree with the vast majority of what Charlie said here. But IDK man, I REALLY enjoyed MHA Season 6. Animation wise it doesn't hold a candle to JJK obviously. (Apart from some certain scenes) But Mirko vs The Nomus, Shigaraki's rampage, Dabi Reveal, Vigilante Deku, Deku vs Class 1A, and Uraraka's speech were all genuinely fantastic. A 9 is too much I will agree. But I'd honestly say it was an 8/10.

It is actually a 9. This reviewer seems to value story and characters more than animation and cool fights and MHA does both better than JJk, especially in s6. And apart from a few moments in Deku vs Shigaraki, the animation is good. Not JJK or Demon Slayer level, but good. And I will always take story and character writing over animation.

I think your enjoyment to JJK season 2 lies heavily on your preferences to this kinda shounen. Duh obviously everything is preference based but I more mean if this isn’t a world, has characters, power system, or story you previously cared about then this isn’t gonna change your mind. To me JJK is incredible but it’s also my kinda series. For context my favorite mangaka is Yoshihiro Togashi, favorite anime is Yu Yu Hakusho, and Hunter x Hunter I also believe is a masterpiece. Basically I’m saying YYH and HxH are some of my favorite series ever. JJK is the closest manga I’ve ever read that’s similar to Togashi’s style of storytelling. The plot, the writing, the characters, the power system, the structure, Gege Akutami really nails what made Togashi’s works so special and made them their own. Shibuya I feel is the ultimate culmination of everything that came before and everything that came after in such a dense perfectly exciting yet gut wrenching tragedy. Plus unlike Demon Slayer I’d say JJK isn’t carried by the animation either. Gege isn’t the best artist ever but the Hidden Inventory/Shibuya Incident era has without question the best art in the series. It’s not clean but it’s kinda of like a fluid messy that makes the action easy to read and exciting, plus the character designs are at their best since they’re expressive and soft with a little grit. It still may not be everybody’s cup of tea but this is one of the few times I think a series completely deserves all the hype and recognition it’s receiving.
The problem is IGN gave Jujutsu kaisen 0 a 9/10 and hidden inventory an 8/10 but somehow shibuya which a lot of people consider to be JJK'S peak is a 6/10. The rating is purely to get interactions.

JJK is more similar to Kubo than Togashi's works, even Gege has said he is heavily inspired by bleach (which has inspiration from YYH even though Kubo has never stated it) where even domain expansion is taken inspiration from Tosen's bankai and how Mai/Maki story part in season 1 is almost one to one direct copy of Yoruichi/Soifon backstory + relation.

There’s an interview somewhere out there where Gege states domains were actually inspired by territories from YYH. Yes there are plenty of elements of JJK that were inspired by Kubo, Togashi’s influence I feel is much strongly present in Gege’s writing. Cursed energy is a system most similar to Nen, Geto’s backstory being directly inspired by Sensui from YYH, Nobara mentions by the the first Spirit Detective from YYH the chapter/episode she meets that girl who has a crush on Yuji. There’s even in anime subtle references where in Yuji’s battle against Mahito he strikes a stance similar to Gon’s Jajaken while focusing for a Black Flash, and the MAPPA hiring Killua’s VA in both the sub/dub for kid Gojo.
As a manga reader who knows 70% of the Hashira are killed in the next arc, I really enjoyed Season 4 for letting us spend more time with them.
As an anime only, I actually enjoyed this season. I thought it added a lot of charm.

I am happy with the season. I don't care about the slow pacing, or that there are 5 chapters in the manga (I didn't read the manga, so I wouldn't have known that anyway), I enjoy when important characters get further characterization, and I don't get why the show needs nonstop action to be "good". IGN complained about JJK season 2 having too much action, so I don't get what they want at this point.
I mean he’s allowed to think the characterization wasn’t well-executed. Many feel the characters, humor, and writing in Demon Slayer aren’t that strong compared to the action, even if it’s important for setting up future events. Vinland Saga s2 was like all characterization and no action, and I and many others still enjoyed it cause the characters are complex and well-written.
@@tealdrum5687 I also did enjoy VS s2 and found it to be more enjoyable than the first season, but comparing it to Demon Slayer does a deservice to both because one is a shonen, and one is a seinen, so one of them will always be simpler, less complex. This is not always the case with shonen, but I feel like any bonus characterization of the cast is welcome because it slowly adds emotional attachment to these characters. I get if he doesn't think it was well executed, but critiques like "nothing happens" and "they are stretching the plot" I find very reductive to what the season actually had in store.

my way of approaching the 4th season was kind of like the last NORMAL moments of everyone on screen before shit hits the fan so i appreciated the season. definitely not the most action or hype moments but it was nice seeing all the hashira and everyone else that has been in the show in one little final gathering

Why did they do it? Simple.
Money. Demon Slayer is a completed manga. If they adapted it normally they'd eventually run out of material and lose out on the sweet sweet moolah. It's crazy how ufotable reinvented filler. It used to be that anime would start making filler once it caught up with the source material. Demon Slayer shouldn't have that problem since the manga already ended years ago. Any normal anime would've just reached the ending normally with minimal amount of fillers. They also recently announced like 3 different movies. It's obvious that they make a lot of money with Demon Slayer since it's one of the more popular anime out there.
I mean what else are they supposed to do… hashira training was always gonna be one of the hardest arcs to adapt. You can’t make it one or two episodes, because no normal anime season is that short. They wanted to make a trilogy maybe yes for money but also because it means more budget will go into it. You’re really finding ways to complain despite ufotable making some of the best animated anime ever

Dude, Vinland Saga became one of my favourite animes of all time. Both seasons smashed my expectations. And also, this show is what Berserk wishes it could be. Not so much in story, but how it looks and how it's animated. I've been trying to get into Jujutsu Kaisen but something about the show is just not hitting right for me. Maybe it's the dialogue and the story. And I don't think switching to Japanese sub will help the dialogue. If I here someone talk about "cursed spirits" and "curses" and "jujutsu" one more time in that show, I will crack the shits.
Elsewhere, I have been watching Hell's Paradise and I have been enjoying myself. Spy x Family was another show I ended liking a lot even though I wish the show would cool it with the recaps. Zom 100 was a great show that I kinda wish wasn't marred with production problems. I also started the OG Yu Yu Hakusho but I haven't gotten far yet. Still at the first tournament arc. Great Teacher Onizuka was another show I didn't expect to see ever, but man, that is ever a ride.

What? The best arc for the manga is the last arc lol. It has the best use of tension, the best fights, the best character moments such as kokushibo with the flute when he dies, and easily the best villains with akaza and upper 1. S3 lackd good villains and tension.
