  • In Episode 11 Bugsy takes us down to a ledge in Sydney Australia for some land based lure fishing targeting Australian Salmon. Bugsy will be spinning metal slugs, simple but effective lures. Bugsy uses his Mavic 3 drone to find the fish and includes some drone footage of salmon schools. Sydney has a number of premier rock fishing locations. Fishing off the rocks is a dangerous activity and safety should always come first. Check the swell conditions, wear a lifejacket, wear rock cleats or spikes, wear light clothing that you could confidently swim in, and fish with a friend to keep an eye out for each other. Remember to do your part to look after our fish stocks too. If you are going to keep fish, look after them and only take what you will eat. Take your rubbish home with you or throw it in the bin. Respect and preserve our natural wonders. Thank you

    Cool editing simbop! Those salmon swirls are awesome. Nice technical landed too. One suggestion to try is a quality single 3/0. Keep them coming ledge

      Cheers ledge! Was thinking the same thing afterwards, single hooks may help prevent dropping them. I'll give it a try

    Sick video mate. Good to see they are starting to turn up! Been out east a few times this October and not hooking up! Only getting pan sized snapper in the harbour. Keen to throw some metals again now!

    Mate all year round there you get salmon, big ones in the cooler months 68 was my biggest there also get tons of tailor in winter.. i fish way closer to the sand, in the Chanel that runs along that whole north side.. from low to high.. it’s a waste of time the other way around coz that rip in the corner pulls 8 ounce sinkers 😂 good to see the locals love you mate ! You’re a Legend mate cheers for the great content🤟🏼🤟🏼

    Great video mate! Ever try using your drone to drop lures on top of the school? I was thinking of getting a drone just to do this for those times the schools are out of casting distance

    How long does a off the rocks rod need to be? 8ft 5?

    • @bugsyfishing
      @bugsyfishing  2 года назад

      Hi Josh, depends on the ledge but I like 8 foot plus. Around the 10ft mark is better for shore jigging

    Try changing your treble hooks for a good single hook. Get much better hook ups. When you open up one of those fish, what color is the flesh.????

    • @bugsyfishing
      @bugsyfishing  8 месяцев назад

      Hi Maurice, yeah, I actually did change it to a single after this experience. Much better hook ups since. I'm red green colour deficient so not the best person to answer that question. Cooked up well in an Italian style tomato dish

      Hi Josh, this set up is a Stradic FL 5000 reel with 20lb braid and 20lb fluorocarbon leader. The rod is a Oceans Legacy 9'8" PE 2-4. I use that rod with my Stradic SW 6000 too. Versatile
