We live Las Cruces. We went camping to Snow Lake last summer, I was researching the area and came across your video traveling from the VLA to Snow Lake and Mogollon. Your video helped us decide to go there with our grand kids. I have to tell you....your videos have been a huge inspiration to our family. Your editing skills are AMAZING!! We sat for almost 6 hours in just one day watching your channel!! You have been a big part of our lives ever since we found that 1st video!! The fact that your story started in New Mexico just puts the cherry on the top!! We have a small RUclips channel and we talked about calling it quits. Because of you we decided to keep filming. That's Zuni canyon your traveling through my family actually has some land up there about 20 miles up the main road it's really nice out there. I live in Grants that small town you probably drove through while getting there. Enjoy the nice views this great state has too offer.

Great video Chad! Dig it. Thanks for sharing! When I worked in the dusty fields harvesting wheat, you check the air filter and blow them out as needed at the beginning of the day. Along with a dozen other things to check before you get on with your day. It's no different then being on the trail. Know your equipment and keep it in good shape.

Awesome video! As for anyone can that's not entirely true. Health and vehicle deficits can be huge stumbling blocks. So, do it while you can work, have your health and the means to buy a vehicle. But, it's true that most could if they really wanted to. The problem with that is can you imagine how that would change vanlife?

Hey, you know more about this stuff than me, but just a suggestion:
With that much dust, it would be advisable to get a snorkel with an additional filter. I would also change the oil and oil filter regardless of milage.
Edit: the compressor is literally the least possible point of failure and wear as long as you dont ram the rod through the paper 😂
Edit 2: beating it is fine, just make sure it lands perfectly vertically to spread out impact and dislodge as much dust as possible .
Those metal grates covering that hole are ventilation shafts for the Mach 2 magnetic trains that the military has made across the country. New Mexico is like a hub for these underground tunnels systems.
Flying the drone through the keyhole in the rock out cropping would have been amazing. I would have been tempted to fly down that mine shaft to see what is there.

I was in Mogollon a couple of years ago. Very unique place. I have property north of Alpine and south of Springerville Arizona. You ever get to Dulce New Mexico? Rumor has it there is an underground extraterrestrial base there. 😉

Can you fly the drone out to a location and have it hover off the side of the road and either keep pointed and drive the rig past and then have it fly back to you ... and/or have it turn and follow the rig as it goes by... I know you mentioned the sound aspect too but maybe you can use music and some audio mix too ... I have thought this for months... You'd still have to use the tripod thing and quails of filming too of course.
Hey Chad, be weary of idling your diesel Sprinter, idling deposits significant amounts of soot into your DPF and can shorten it’s life considerably. Those things are expensive!!!

I was in mogollon in 1979 as a kid we stayed in an old cement mining shack from the 1800s somewhere up in the hills if you've happened to pass it in your travels and have a pic could you post it? Some of my best childhood memories are from there exploring and hanging around silver Creek

I agree with your friend saying 40 to 60 hours a week not even your money you’re making the money for someone else but for someone to say they had to quit a job to live in a Van Owen RV that that’s stupid to quit your job to live in a vehicle. It’s only for you to say full pay for mortgage or pay rent or some people to pay to $3000 in a mortgage and some PP 6 to $$$700-$900 at work so you think about how much you could be saving in a year and she put up a good contact I’d like your videos inspires me to do it👍 ✌️

Chad you have to have money to be able to live full time in your van travel in all the time some people like me and my wife have to work so we can go out for the weekends with our T6❤🇬🇧
Are you still running with a skid plate under your rear differential? I couldn’t tell from the video. I also have the Agile/ARB air locker. I had the skid plate on it when it was installed but Agile said the differential with their cover was stronger than the skid plate and the only thing the skid plate was doing was reducing clearance.
I still run the skid plate. I like the extra protection for what I do.
Just, curious. Why wouldn’t you run a washable cold air intake filter? Takes the worry outta having to buy or carrying a spare.
Nope. Negative. Absolutely not WILL not run a cleanable air filter. They do NOT filter enough to keep this kind of dust out. I’ve ruined motors because of running those filters in dusty conditions
I noticed after the air filter cleaning, you have a check engine light on, which begs the question, do you bring a code reader/software to reset error codes in case any show up inadvertently?
