Getting back to the Living The Van Life roots with some good ol van life camping up in the mountains. As a single female who car camps solo all over the place in Colorado, I appreciated you being honest about how intimidating it can be out there alone sometimes...I feel so silly getting the heebiejeebies as soon as it's dark out so it's nice to know it happens to experienced dudes too and I'm not just being a wimp! lol
Nothing wimpy about being in the food chain and understanding you're not on top of it.
I am 61 years old and done this my whole life. I am alone most of the time and yes it can be a little hair raising hearing crashing in the woods in the middle of the night but that's just part of it. No shame in it so good on you for getting out there.
I did my first solo camp in a Subaru. Must say I was a bit freaked out myself the first time, and even every now and then. My biggest fear is breaking down or getting stuck like that white SUV.
Not crazy at all, I’m 52 and I get the jitters sometimes too.
Oh, yeah, not my first time having the hair standup on my arms. Good to have your senses on high alert, for sure! Smart to always listen to your gut.

Nah, i don't agree...as we closer to winter....sprinter with insulation wall inside more comfort to him....we all want to see his best content everytime right? So more safety and comfort is priority for him...and it's all in his custom sprinter...

As a gal backpacker for decades I've never had any issue with bears. I keep clean, keep a meticulous campsite and have nothing in my small tent that is food, or has any fragrance (lotion, toothpaste, soap). everything gets packed in a proper sack and hung over a tree branch at night or when I'm away from camp, hiking or swimming. I rarely start a fire (unecessary except in an emergency) and use a small backpacking stove only. I also don't forage the hell out of my surroundings as the mushrooms and berries are food that is rightly THE BEAR'S!Being meticulous is key and the right thing to do!
All this time I’ve been foraging the berries and mushrooms at camp 🤦♂️

Been years since I’ve been to snowmass, use to ski there, stayed at the Snowmass Mountian Chalet slope side next to the village. That was some crazy biking, I felt like I was on the bike, and gasped on a few of those turns and jumps. Great vid Chad!!
