Here’s something to ponder. My reg plates were stolen about a month ago, non compliant private plate. Police didn’t care, DVLA didn’t care. I’ve only had one fine come through the door. The plates have been put on a van. Two things here - either the van was used for something criminal then dumped or the majority of cameras are non operational as I’ve been expecting fines to be flooding in. I wonder if I can have a refund on my fine in light of this case. I was fined years ago. I gave the same reason to Tfl and they refused to cancel the fine. I was not aware I was going to be charged in the ULEZ. They said it was advertised but being a non-local to London how would a driver know local signs.

I was stung by a "no emission" zone near Farringdon during a gap in lockdown. £700 in fines on a small part of road. Paid it then a year later the sign was removed.

No signs no fines however Khan will probably argue that one sign for the entire ULEZ is sufficient.

Surely all the people who have paid the ulez fee should get their money back as well then, why are we paying for something that is not clearly signposted ?

I am paying a big road tax for car compared to petrol cars.
I will also have to pay for ULEZ.
    Is that fair?

i pay tax for my car based on the fumes, as far as im concerned i pay for the previlige of driving my car, i would not pay vauxhall 20 grand, after buying a ford from ford for 20 grand. that is all this is, its a double charge for the same thing, as such is illegal in itself. you cannot be charged twice for one item.
since i pay tax based on vehicle emmissions i should not be forced to pay for the same thing twice. This needs to be stopped immediately

Reform party why not get your supporters to do the same thing all over the country and make this court ruling stand everywhere. Impress the electorate for the next GE and you may get a few more votes. ACTIONS SPEAK LOUDER THAN WORDS.
And saving over £3k a year for most who travel around the extended ULEZ would be a move in the right direction.

ulez and 20mph in wales cannot, in any regard, be thought of as efficient to businesses - it would be very nice if large businesses refused to trade within any of these places because of the extra costs it caused them - all the idiocy would probably be reversed very quickly indeed...................
