I'm not the kind of person who thinks an iPad can replace my regular computer. It's an accessory, like my phone. The entry-level iPad ruclips.net/user/postUgkxUGaHtKW8MwCql2fPyIm9-ftTqSMzKFFA is perfect for that and does everything I need it to. One of the things I like to use my ipad for is running aviation apps while flying. There is no need to buy the more expensive iPad for flying unless you want the built-in GPS. In that case the entry-level iPad with cellular module also includes the built-in GPS and you don't have to activate the cell plan in order to use the GPS. I have a $120 bluetooth GPS receiver already that works great with the iPad.I got the yellow one, and it's not really as yellow as it appears in the images online. It's more of a golden brass.

Great video, Jerry. I really do enjoy listening to your take on things. Thank you for not boring us with the usual benchmarks that other reviewers waste their (and our) time on. Instead your format took on an honest and laidback approach, kind of like a friend giving us their opinion. While Apple took the world by surprise from including their famed M1 chip in the iPad Pro, I agree with you in that it will all have been for nothing if iPadOS 15 does not bring anything substantial to the table at WWDC this year.

Thank you! Everyone keeps talking about the 12.9 just because of the mini LED with some saying not to buy it but no one is talking about just buying it for its size. As if people didn't buy the 12.9 pro previously for its size. I'm an artist and I most likely won't be using the full extent of the mini-LED but I also just want it for its larger screen size. It still depends what people prefer to spend the extra money on, but that would be the same case if it didn't have mini-LED. So even if the mini-LED isn't of use to you and you want to buy it for its size go right ahead. And same goes if you don't want to buy it.

@@rob465 Yeah but that's what I mean there is always going to be a downside and an upside to a product. At least as of right now with the current technology we have and the way the market is it will always be there no matter if they add something to it like mini LED. And people will always have to think about what they prefer in any item to spend their money on regardless. Ive just been seeing a whole bunch of videos going on about the mini LED on the 12.9 as if that is the only feature when it's just a NEW feature. The addition of the mini LED in the 12.9 also shouldn't be the only thing that determines whether it is worth buying or not, there are things like it's size, portability, etc. I just don't think that the mini LED is a deal breaker or a be all and end all. It's all about what the buyer prefers, what they prioritize over other things or what they are looking for or need.

This is the main issue or problem. The M1 chip is now easily MAC OS desktop class and therefore Apple will not let the iPad become s full fledged Mac OS system, they want people to buy their Mac OS desktops / MacBooks etc for that purpose only. While agree its a beautiful powerful device and I also own the 2020 12.9 pro model, the fact they will not unlock its true potential has now stopped me from continuing with apple iPhone & iPad upgrades. It’s like purchasing a top of the range Ferrari with the power of an average family car or similar - pointless overkill knowing one will never be able to use the features and power it can truly do. Too much of the jabba hut sized greedy apple machine for me I’m afraid 🙄

Depending on what is shown on Apple’s Tuesday Event, I’m 80% sure I’m getting the 12.9in iPad Pro. I’ve been trying to talk myself out of it but it’s the one I really want to complement my 13in MacBook Pro. I work from home and go to school online so I’m not necessarily worried about portability. I’ve had two iPad Mini’s and an Air in the past and wasn’t entirely happy with them because of the lack of screen real estate. But worse case scenario, I can always return it within 14 days if I don’t like it.

Awesome video. Every year I upgraded my iPad Pro. I’m convinced the iPad Pro is a tablet for best choice. But, with the exception to the 2021 iPad Pro. Unfortunately, Apple dropped the bomb on the 2021 model. At this time I’m involved with a Apple care open case trying to resolved screen dimming. This is my second replacement for the iPad. The issues with the new 2021 iPad including the iPhone 13, screen brightness will dim in and out based on the outdoor temperatures environment. Yes, all settings adjusted, auto brightness turned off, and any another settings are turned off that may reflect or control the display from dimming. Also, OS always updated to the latest versions. An issue that only accord’s during the time the iPad is used outdoors, not indoors. Indoors, video editing or playing intense games on the iPad maintains its brightness, regardless how warm it will get. Outdoors, surfing the web, reading emails, or RUclips, within an hour the brightness will dim in and out. Sometimes, the brightness will dim too low making it bearable to see content on the screen. The dimming issues only happens between 11:00 AM to sun down (if the temperature is around 74 and up).
Yeah, definitely a flaw in the 2021 model with the sensor that will determine the display brightness when set to auto or off. When auto brightness is turned off, the sensor will still kick in based on the outdoors temperature, ranging from 74 to 95 degrees. Whereby, within a short period of time using the iPad Pro 2021 outdoors, display will dim in and out making it useless to be used outdoors. This flaw seems to be more of a hardware issue vs the OS. Older iPad Pro version did not have a dimming problem when it is used outdoors. Same for the iPhone.
No RUclips Content Creators are addressing this issue with new iPad Pro 2021. Reason, their reviews are presented indoors. I’m 100% sure the iPad Pro dimming isn’t a isolated issue. It’s been over three months for Apple care not resolving the dimming problem. And for now, I’m stuck with a $1,500 metal glass plate which is worthless for outdoor use. After the holidays, my answer is to go back to the iPad Pro 2020 model unless Apple has a fixed beforehand.

Apple don’t seem to have the money or the expertise to fully develop their iPad OS in order to provide you with things like proper file structure and external display support. Believe me, if they could overcome these massive obstacles, they would, because they love their customers and will do anything to make them completely happy and satisfied. So you just hang around for a few more model upgrades and as soon as they have the resources, they will be right onto it.
If you have detected a note of cynicism in the above text, then you are right on the button. Apple could not care less about you (meaning Apple buyers in general) or indeed your incessant tablet demands. iPad Pro owners, of which I am one, seem to feel they are somehow a special breed in Apple’s vision and supreme plan, and are happy to keep updating their hardware year on year based on minor model changes. They loyally and patiently wait for features that I am convinced will never come - features that, if incorporated in the iPad Pro OS, would probably see massive reductions, if not the complete demise, of their laptop sales.
    Dream on, ye faithful.

I don't know if I'm a minority or what but I still wouldn't buy an iPad* even if they added some desktop-class features. Granted, I've never never owned an iPad but I do own a MacBook Pro. An iPad with some desktop-class features is still an iPad in my mind and a laptop is still a laptop. A laptop is still the device to pick if you need to crunch those numbers if you need to.
I'm a developer and I do a lot of compiling, virtualization and containerization. I would never see myself doing that stuff on an iPad.
      * when I say "I would never buy an iPad" I mean as a computer replacement. Basically, an iPad will always be a secondary device for me.
