Since then, I learnt to never believe these conmen in cassock, rather to know and have a 1:1 relationship with God. I grew up in church and saw so many horrible things! As a parent, I have never allowed my children stay behind or attend any so-called church activities either at day or night time; we go and return home after brief services. We pray inside our home and my husband leads as the chief priest.
The time Nigeria will wake up from sleep and begin to engaged themselves in production, rendering services 24/7 80 percent of church buildings and their camp land will turn to factories. Nigeria problem to a large extent is not government. We put our leg in oversized shoe.
Well said... well done, sir. I left my pastoral position in 2018 for many reasons I wouldn't want to share on social media, but now sat in the congregation every Sunday. I'm very happy and now ran a bakery, and God has been very gracious to me. Spirituality is not foolishness.
I am 50+ now, I remember growing up in a little town in the eastern part of Nigeria, we had the catholic, Anglican, Presbyterian, Assemblies of God church. In those days morals were high, we were really raised well that we can decode that these new breed churches has brought a lot of immortality and quest for material things. We never paid tithes but we gave secret offerings sometimes from our pocket money. We were thought that a soul that sins shall die. We were all afraid to doing bad things in those days, when I got to college I 12:57 noticed that some of the new breed churches were lenient in most morals, sometimes they claim the Holy Spirit directed them and they always say “don’t judge” even when you see someone who does unacceptable things in front of you
We know the church already. They are always on the news for laying off pastors for lack of performance. Money is the goal and not the winning of souls.
I was part of that ministry until God by his mercies redeemed me. I would have wasted my years building people's empires at the expense of my assignment.
This is pure business. Why can't the richer parishes support the poorer parishes until they can stand. In the Bible, apostle Paul collected money from rich churches to support the poorer churches in Jerusalem. Thank you sir for speaking up. There is nothing as powerful as an internal critic.
Actually this was always my argument when I was with this same ministry. But what shocked me the most was when they opened a school on church premises and made it so expensive that the majority of the members couldn't afford it. I knew this was not a ministry but a business.
Hello, Junior men of God, "FEAR NOT for God is with YOU and do not be gullible because it is a personal race. I personally encountered this difficulty, but I handled it well since I began by asking my Senior MOG about certain behaviors and standards that were not kept according to the word of God. I am a Berean believer and fear God only not man. So my GO called me a stubborn pastor. My fellow pastor did not believe what I saw from the beginning and they argued with me that I was wrong to question the GO because they were ignorant but in the end their eyes opened, all of them regrated that they had wasted their time for more than 10 years some 30 yrs and still struggling while the GO is doing well and they had heavy quarrel with the GO before the left but I left wisely. Finally, we should have a personal relationship with God and can follow men of God who follow Christ.

I have a bright childhood friend that was always coming out on top of the class and was twice the senior prefect boy (at both elementary and high school). He left the college/university in year three citing his call to become a prophet. I stopped communicating with him when I noticed that all prayers and prophetic dispenses end up with billing! May God save our generation from spiritual deceit and religious manipulations!

Truth is i totally agree with the salient points you raied sir. The ministry your talking about which am a full and unapologetic member of, actually needs to revisit somethings, i know most of the disadvantages that some polivies have caused was not part of the original idea, just that things went out of hand andd is not entirely the founders fault, humans are actually terrible, the major issue is the point of over expansion, i have also been thinking some of them like that, the negative effect is bigger than the positive. Example those people hired as pastors in those branches how do we even know this person is qualified to mange souls and many more.

Most people in ministry are simply doing it for money, nothing more. If there are plenty of good jobs available, most of them will not go into ministry. It’s really pathetic when money becomes the god many people serve.

Very few of this group actually serve God in truth. For most the expansion is about the offering it’s run like a business. If it’s for God this is the time all the storage in Gods house will be used to feed the people and God servants the pastor. Catholic that is my church there not perfect but they certainly try.
Many years ago, I was a member of a mega church. A national overseer, who was an engineer, preached that he burnt all his university certificates so that he can focus on God only-no turning back. I thought he was foolish. At the time, I was in the university and the church wanted us to be trained as missionaries after graduation . I didn't feel God was calling me to be a pastor, so I refused. Years later, the daughter of the national overseer got pregnant out of wedlock. He was recalled from his position . The reason given was that the Bible says : Train up a child in the way he should go and when he is old, he will not depart from it. He was completely devastated! After wasting all his life for God, he is being punished for the sins of his daughter. Let's not follow men of God blindly.
I know the ministry already I was a member of this ministry in London years back before I left because I do not see any sincerity when it comes to the way they deal with people, in this same ministry a pastor in Nigeria have complained bitterly online how a regional pastor will withhold their salary for months investing the money in bank to earn interest why the workers that own the money suffer hungers.
