Question on Visa Dropbox Eligibility.
My last visa status L1B and it was stamped in Germany(year-2020), last year I moved to H1B, As it was change of status from L1 to H1, I didn't stepout from the country. I was in assumption that I am not eligible for the dropbox, but my appointment has been booked as dropbox only. someone told me recently that, uscis initially is giving dropbox to everyone but they call for in-person interview when there is a change of visa status after ~1 week of dropbox appointment. I tried reaching out to ustraveldocs but their reply was not concrete enough to take any decision. Could you please help me here by sharing your experience/knowledge. Thanks in advance.

MY L1B visa got expired on 2019 and this year I have applied for L1B. I scheduled for interview today and I did not see any questions related to interview waiver. I have booked my interview slots. So for L1B this waiver is not applicable.

If you have your recent visa approved you can get dropbox. A bit wrong in the video. Hope this helps.

Hey my case is the same. I got my B1 visa in 2013 and it got expired in 2018. I wasn't denied any visa , nor do I have any criminal records. I'll be eligible for the waiver right
I have B2 Visa expired with in 48 months and had answered all the questions while making the MRV payment. There was a pop-up intimating the eligibility for interview waiver. I further proceeded and chose an appointment date and got an appointment confirmation. Is this same as the Dropbox appointment date? Or have I got get an alternate date for Dropbox appointment? Does the interview waiver make it possible to get an earlier date than normal? The earliest date was in Nov 23 ?!!
B1 B2 is not eligible for Drop box as of now. But if your Visa is expired with oin 48 hours you are exempted from Embassy interview but the VFS OFC appointment for Photograph and Biometric is must. As of now one who are exempted in india for embassy appointment are getting a Visa interview date for late 2023 and who needs both are getting interview dates as late as 2024.
