    I‘m so glad you explained the part that it is „safe“ for plastics as I know from hundreds of conversations in forums / groups that people will misunderstand it. The same happened with Sonax polishes in Germany based on a RUclips video by a larger channel which explained it wrong.
    A polish is a polish, and if there are abrasives in it, it WILL have the potential to damage structured plastics. Especially if you just polish over one part of a plastic panel instead of the whole one.
    👍

    I had the chance to try The gold standard polish. I must've been half asleep and thought I ordered 5.5" pads, but received 3". That's ok! They'll work well with My Adam's Mini Swirl killer.
    I went through three spray triggers to get it to work. I had a 1999 Black Mazda Miata that was trashed. I tried a small section on the top of the drivers side fender. It looked really nice! Using an orange lake country pad gave fine results. Scratches were still there, but I wasn't going for perfection. VERY nice work time, a little dust and effortless wipe off. I used eraser after I finished and sealed it up with Graphene coating. The scent was delicate, but present. Nice job, fellas! I can't wait to use it again!
    Thank You!

    Got to use the system today. Used with the 3401 and 15mm cordless. I like the pads, makes for a nice user experience. Combo did well on medium to soft paint, but I would expect much correction on hard paint. Finish was very nice. Polish is definitely oily upon wipe off. Takes a bit of elbow grease, but didn’t stick to the paint. Maybe the thicker oils provide lubrication when buffing off? Definitely need to use a panel wipe after buffing off, IMO. Hello! I am currently using P&S Iron buster. The directions say to let the product dwell for a few minutes.
    Does your iron remover not require dwell time? I ask, because on this video you are suggesting to use the iron remover as a lubricant with the clay towel…ie: spraying it onto the towel and on to the section of paint and then wiping immediately..
    Also, i see that your iron remover is $20 more per gallon than P&S, however I’m assuming that I’m saving money by not having to use a seperate clay towel lubricant. Is this correct?

    • @diydetailofficial

    Applying compound to a pad in dots and then touching the pad down in numerous areas on the panel, ensures distribution of abrasives. Wouldnt your method of spraying the pad, reduce the effectives of those diminishing abrasives by the time you got to the furthest points in your 2ft by 2ft (for example) working area on the panel?

    • @diydetailofficial
      @diydetailofficial  Год назад

      First off, compressed air is a very effective way of shortening the life of your pads. Use a pad washer or Rinseless wash( if your detailing for a living, you need the lake country pad washer) to clean your pads. A damp pad works better, runs cooler and lasts longer.

      @@diydetailofficial wow, interesting. I stand corrected.
      I would personally still be wary of using a polish with abrasives on a ceramic coating, as it will remove some. If I have a pro 3-5 year costing, I would get less and less life the more times I polish it.
      But my main sticking point is that it seems unnecessary to polish over the costing, since a normal spring wash process + topper will also refresh the ceramic coating with less risk.
      If this polish is more of a prep/cleaner polish with no abrasives, then I could feel more comfortable about using it over a coating. But it would still seem like a lot effort compared to a full wash process.

Im going to 2 step my 16 Gmc Black Sierra in the summer and coat it. Theres only light scratches, Im getting in practice before I do my truck. Im waiting for your wool pad to come out and am ordering your polish kit now. Love your guys videos and been collecting your guys products since day 1 so I appreciate you guys! My question is should I use the wool pad on the Da and follow that up with a rotery using the foam gold pad and polish? Also can I use your polish and the wool to get out the light scratches with the da? Thanks in advance..

    I have a small RO polisher that was given to me as a gift...the kind that comes with a couple of bonnets. Can I use this polisher with your Gold Standard waffle pads and The Gold Standard Polish? I have a white 15 yr old daily driver that is in dire need of decontamination and polishing.
