    Small note since Thieves' Guild Enforcer is a part of Yuriko, any time a Rogue enters, each opp mills 2, so stuff like Looter il-Kor would have triggered the TGE, and I assume there are other Rogues in the deck, so this would be something to keep in mind!

    Great game! I think one important thing about budget is that it fits the deck. Higher color decks are restrained a lot more by budget due to their expensive mana bases but lower colored decks aren’t hurt as much.

    • @AstridCeleste96
      @AstridCeleste96 3 года назад +5

      In addition to colors I'd say if your win condition doesn't have to be tutored to be consistent. A Commander that presents its own win condition is better than a Thoracle deck may be without Vampiric/Demonic/Spellseeker etc all searching for it.

      My Yuriko deck is not my most powerful EDH deck, but it is incredibly fun. You can run so many interactions it never plays the same way twice but always plays at the same level. technically not, even with the not being able to kill both players the urza deck had a lot more potential to win than the yuriko deck (since he didnt even have his commander). There was a max 5 damage he could have taken from combat (which najeela is better at protecting from) meanwhile the urza deck can win via three different methods and had the mana to hard cast tidespout which meant the urza deck was in a much better position to win and was built more competitively. Always take out the bigger threat, not the proper threat.

    • @larskoppmeyer8329
      @larskoppmeyer8329 3 года назад +1

      @@GodammitNappa The commentary said that the choice was between killing yuriko and going for the immediate win, so I think he didnt have enough damage to kill the urza. I am pretty sure if he could have done that he would(I didnt count the damage). In this case his decision was right imo, because the chance to win by flipping a 4cmc card was like 4% and the chance that urza would not be able to win on the spot I would estimate a little bit higher.

I'm assuming despite all Ryan's cards getting exiled, the triggers from his cards would still resolve as long as they're controlled by another player, or is there some rule where the triggers from a players cards would exile when the player dies despite who controls them?

    The best move was actually probably hitting Ryan first above everything else. If Zack could have used anything (and I do mean anything) to get Yuriko back, he would have already because Yuriko is a commander-dependent deck strategy. The safest bet was swinging out as utterly as possible on Ryan because Urza was still present.
    Still, with both being blue players it could have been a coin flip either way with Folger being so low on health.

    With Zack dying, would Yuriko’s ability go off that last time? Wouldn’t all abilities on the stack get removed from the game?

    Hey Conch Horn isn’t that bad! The recurability in an artifact deck is like free card draw. If it was Modern legal it would go into my mono black artifact mill
