Thanks Darrell! It was a hard review to make because there is so much hype surrounding the Ryzen 5000 laptop CPUs--finding the balance can be difficult.
@@GizmoSlipTech I totally get it. Ryzen is the better product right now and everyone knows it. Intel is still competitive in some cases, just as you outlined. I have the same laptop but with the RTX 2070 Max Q and i7 10875H - mine gets very hot especially on the CPU, even when undervolted and the front plastic bezel is very weak and can get damaged very easily especially the corners, mine got chipped from taking the back cover off and i was being extremely careful and i've got a hinge sound coming from the right side hinge when i open the lid

@@SMGJohn I’m not talking about the difference at the size, I’m just talking about the improvement is mainly had at higher resolution. I’m glad the older 2080 laptops suit your needs, especially for the price point.
Well, the 2080 Super used to cost a LOT more than these machines, but if you can get a good discount on a 2080 Super variant, then it is still a great option. You also want to pay attention to when the CPU is causing bottlenecks in performance--as the GPU becomes irrelevant when the game is entirely CPU bound.
To your question about buying an intel laptop and being happy....you may want to look at the numbers on the GE76, 10th gen Intel CPU and 2080 150w, versus the AMD CPU and 3080 in the Asus line-up, including the Zephyrus Duo. In gaming, which is the main focus of a 'gaming' laptop, the GE76 wins period. ASUS really pissed me off only putting their highest wattage 3080 in the Duo and even then it is not a 150w variant and not having HDMI 2.1. MSi has pissed me off by not offering a 1440p/165Hz screen or HDMI 2.1. I am going to wait before pulling the trigger on any of the new laptops until Intel 11th gen is released. Also awaiting a refresh of the Area 51m from Allienware. Out of the laptops that have been revealed so far, I would have to say even on 10th gen Intel, I would lean towards the GE76. Also waiting on the Legion 7 to actually be released from Lenovo, hopefully with a higher wattage 3080, although it won't have HDMI 2.1 either. Only laptops with HDMI 2.1 so far are the m series (thin and light) from Alienware and the Razer Blades.
Yes, from a pure gaming perspective, the GE76 wins vs Asus, especially because of the MUX switch on the MSI. But the best performance combination from a hardware perspective is still clearly a Ryzen 9 5900HX + high TDP RTX 3080 + a MUX switch.

Ouch, Intel AND 80W 3070M? For more than $1,600? The MSI GS series is not even comparably lightweight anymore. Zephyrus G14 weight for those specs and the price would make a little more sense.
(speking about 3080 models) it may make sense but with aorus because msi males prices way too much! (but they are built soo good but expensive :( lol) For example 3060 and 2060 is the same lrice but msi gs66 with 3060 is 200 dolar more for all those same specs!!! Edit:lol i cant get mad at them because their products are unique and built so nice and feels premium to look at and looks so much better than auorus.
There are exceptions. It just depends on what you are using it for and which laptop you’re matching it up with. For example, if you watched the video you’d see that this GS66 outperformed the Strix g17 in CPU bound games over and over, because of the MUX switch included on the GS66. But it all depends on what you use the CPU for. If needed for regular multi core performance, then the AMD processor is definitely the way to go IMO. But if all you do is play fortnite and do office work, this is still a great laptop-just not priced well enough vs the competition for most people to buy it over the Asus offerings.
If you buy a desktop maybe intel But definitely do not buy it for laptops, runs hot and amd has better performance Although I bought an Asus rog atrix scar g17 and it wil take a month maybe to arrive... so be patient lol

Use it mostly for gaming and plan to use it at least 3 years or more for long term, if you were me, which one do you think is worth to buy?
What do you think of the hp omen 15 gtx 1650ti
Ouch, Intel AND 80W 3070M? For more than $1,600? The MSI GS series is not even comparably lightweight anymore. Zephyrus G14 weight for those specs and the price would make a little more sense.
It is still very thin, but the metal chassis does make it heavier than laptops with similar volume.
@@GizmoSlipTech Yeah. Just pointing out that the GS series that I remember were lighter and a LOT cheaper than thicker, more powerful laptops.
Please include Total War in Benchmark
Imma need that wallpaper sir.
is 92 SRGB is worth for content creation or video editing, sir?
It's a good basic level, as long as the color is calibrated. But if you do it professionally, I'd recommend a higher color gamut display
@@GizmoSlipTech thank you sir..
What do you recommend for setting in general to be on if I’m only using it for streaming on obs and what encoder to use? I appreciate it so much
Can you review the hp omen 17t 2080super edition...or atleast tell me the power limit of it.
Look for quality reviews that talk about it.
-It is way, way better than Asus with too much RGB light. I love this desigh, simple and clean.
-Mux Switch is very nice feature
11:43 $17999
lol
I need rp-15 rtx 3060 review
This or asus m16
Can you make a zephyrus review g15 or g14 but probably g15
$17,999 seems a little steep for the asus @11:42 😘
(speking about 3080 models)
it may make sense but with aorus because msi males prices way too much! (but they are built soo good but expensive :( lol)
For example 3060 and 2060 is the same lrice but msi gs66 with 3060 is 200 dolar more for all those same specs!!!
Edit:lol i cant get mad at them because their products are unique and built so nice and feels premium to look at and looks so much better than auorus.
Intel= Thunderbolt... Do you need it?
asus rog g14 cost 17999$ ,, hmmmm
GE76 3080 150W is better
I almost slept through this
I can't believe Zephyrus G15 is $17999.
haha, typo
That price point is massive, i hope they dont sell well lol.
Simple its all thats left, you cant get Ryzen laptops or CPUS atm
I literally list this as one of the "Pros" LOL
@@GizmoSlipTech not sure that's a pro, regardless intel is sufficient for gaming even if it is too hot and old tech
Wow
Max-Q :(
Not AMD means over priced for less performance no thanks
There are exceptions. It just depends on what you are using it for and which laptop you’re matching it up with. For example, if you watched the video you’d see that this GS66 outperformed the Strix g17 in CPU bound games over and over, because of the MUX switch included on the GS66. But it all depends on what you use the CPU for. If needed for regular multi core performance, then the AMD processor is definitely the way to go IMO. But if all you do is play fortnite and do office work, this is still a great laptop-just not priced well enough vs the competition for most people to buy it over the Asus offerings.
Guess you didn't pay attention at all to the video.
give us a big 17 or 18 inch with best specs :D
If you buy a desktop maybe intel
But definitely do not buy it for laptops, runs hot and amd has better performance
Although I bought an Asus rog atrix scar g17 and it wil take a month maybe to arrive... so be patient lol
Esports for $2400 hahahahaha
That's about $700 overpriced
I wouldn't say $700, but closer to $200ish if they want these to sell solidly. $400 reduced price and these would sell really, really well.
To much money
Intel 10 jajaja no thanks bro next...
Yep, this is not for everyone!
First
Don't buy it simple.
