Awesome work and engineering. Love it. I've started carrying a Milwaukee button lock crapper razor instead of any folder due to lazy sharpening habits. This is way up my alley but probably not in the neighborhood of my wallet unfortunately.
This is great. I'm a huge believer in the idea of having a disposable bla utility knife for tasks where you don't want to risk ruining your expensive knife. This knife is essentially the best of both worlds. I'd love to see a value-engineered version for us mortals.
Wow this is incredible. I would absolutely buy one of these. Also super interested in a regular blade with that lock system. You've really got something different here. Great work.
I absolutely love the locking mechanism! Looks like a super satisfying knife to fidget with. Only thing now is to make a left hand version and you’d have one of the absolute best disposable blade knives on the market
I love the fact this one utilizes almost all of the razor blades edge. Other brands it's only around maybe half or less. I would love to see an affordable model in addition to this one.
Damn, I want one. Told myself I was done buying expensive knives and yet here I am, willing and ready to buy one. Love every bit of this knife. From the beautiful titanium build, the unique and strong lockup mechanism, thoughtfully designed pocket clip. Really hope I can get in on the next drop
I have never liked the replaceable blade knives that any one has ever put out!! But this... this has me! I love everything about it. The design the aesthetics the functionality the materials. Its one the wish list for sure. Great work.

I'm new to the channel but not knives. You definitely exceeded the expectations i had when clicking on this. I also subscribed , great workmanship if i may say.
@Gavin Hawk The 'Shortcut' is indeed a gorgeous quite unique design, but when comparing it to other recent 'titanium bodied' pocket utility knives, paying just shy $500 is excessive (in my opinion) for it's small physical size and it's all but 'single use' primary function, as a glorified box-cutter. Stanley blades are notorious for only being good for their intended purpose, like cutting paper and cardboard, scribing and scraping, as they're way too brittle to physically abuse any other way, unlike more traditional solid bladed utility knives. I found I was spending more time and money swapping out chipped Stanley blades, whenever their points kept snapping off. The fact that there is such a wide range of Stanley blade shapes available, makes this and other such EDC's utility knives still a very useful tool to own. The 'Shortcut' is only a light duty knife in any real world usage scenarios. With all that being said, The Deadlock is a stunningly beautiful knife too, but again I'd be reluctant to purchase one at an astonishing $1100 and not single encrusted diamond in sight. 🤣 Keep up the great videos and knife builds. 👍🏻
I agree, I am not cheap when it comes to buying tools, they enable me to make a living and I buy the best quality I can, that being said, there is no way I would pay that price tag for a box cutter, it looks like a nice box cutter but not $475 nice. I am not saying there is not a market for it, there are plenty of people that have more money than I do that will not mind the price, you can see that in the comments, its just way to expensive for me.
Hey, just a perspective to consider, it’s an ultra custom knife from literally the BEST mechanical knife designer on the PLANET. You don’t tell Ferrari their cars are too expensive for their “single purpose”, you pay more for the absolute best design from the best maker. He can only make a few hundred of these things a year he can’t sell them for $19.99 at Home Depot next to the Stanley. Or even $200. He’s got a whole manufacturing facility and a dozen employees to support and 300 knives at $200 would only be $60k. Just perspective to consider man. His prices are so reasonable for the quality of what he produces and the huge operation it takes to make a thousand or two thousand of the best knives on the planet per year
@@Zodliness Like a used Picasso painting, yeah. New $10, now only $150,000. When supply is close to zero and everyone wants one, and it’s the best on the planet, usually cost goes down. Wish my Gearhead from you guys had that grip clip. Used it as an EDC until the 2 T6 screws on the clip kept coming loose then I finally lost one of them. Gotta have the clip as I don't like it swimming in my pocket. In Hindsight I probably should have used some locktite. Gear mech still works great. I also have a deadlock I absolutely love but that will never be EDC, it's just too nice for that. That being said I'm definitely going to consider this holy grail utility knife.
Good job on the locking mechanism! Maybe for a idea thats related to swapping out the blade is using a slim thumb? like used on computers. Its a great looking knife and i would buy one.
very very cooi. You should design a t8 with just a stubby little thumb tab that fits into the handle and is held in place by a spring detent or magnets.
Beautiful design!!! But I have a few issues and questions. The pocket clip is a no go for me, needs to be easily removeable or something easily replaceable. I understand its titanium and I'm not questioning the quality, but I would build a holster, leather or kydex, and the clip would just be in the way. The real question is how does it hold up to slashes and stabs with that locking mechanism, it seems like an easy way to cut your finger off unless you are only using it for cutting tape.
I've been making this type of clip for about 12 years. It's not for everyone that's for sure. But usually after someone starts to use it they really like it. I personally love it. I tried to put a regular clip on a design several years ago and my customers got upset...lol. Which is great for me because I hate regular clips.
@@blademaker25 tbh, thats a design I'd look at farming out, maybe crkt or someone that has a bigger output capacity. As much as i like it, I'll never pay that for it.
