The technology on planters and sprayers is wonderful when everything is working properly. But it can drive you crazy when it starts giving trouble. I keep thinking back to our old John Deere flex 71 planting units. They were simple, easy to work on, and we got a good stand year after year.
I always enjoy your videos. Im glad everything is going well. Seeing the loading chute at the catch pen brought back memories. I used to have straight trucks and hauled lots of cattle.
Good afternoon Granny, hope you had a great Easter weekend. We have cooled off for a few days but better weather next week. Take care and enjoy the spring weather !!!!
Just 10F difference in soil temperature can double the time for corn to germinate and emerge ! At 65F soil temp corn can emerge in 8-10 days but if the soil is at around 55F it can take corn around 21 days.
How to move trees with the excavator- pull up beside the tree on the stump end, turn the bucket to the side by the stump, pick up the tree on the stump end and just drive away, use the bucket and thump like a elbow to hold the tree beside the excavator- much faster than pushing the tree with the cat, and it wont move so much dirt.
These cooler temperatures at night will definitely hamper the corn emergence for sure and the lower humidity levels during the days, it'll heat up and dry out before too much longer!
Daniel! If you want corn out of the ground in 4 days you need to be getting 25+ gdus a day, you almost need 90 degree days and 60 degree nights. High temp+low temp divided by 2 than subtract 50
Yall had the right idea using an impact on that drain plug just better use air or a milwaukee next time lol those buggers torque to like 50lbft and they just get tighter and tighter the longer theyre in there lol on a cat i dont even bother using a ratchet to try and break those plugs loose, just straight to the half inch impact lol great video Daniel
Thanks for the video Daniel keep up the great work guys ❤❤. Take care of yourself and family and friends and be Blessed ❤️. Hi Granny have a Blessed day ❤️❤️.
The color of the zip ties actually mean something. White is rated for indoor use. Their rating is NEMA one. You should be using black zip ties for outdoor use. Their rating is NEMA three R. You’re welcome
I have a question maybe someone can answer. On another channel, the operator of a JD combine turns the key on to start the machine but then delays a bit before engaging the starter. He also does this on his larger JD tractors. Is this really necessary or what is the purpose?
Lots of reasons for this depending on the machine. Could be allowing computers to boot up/ do a system check, allowing glow plugs to warm up, allowing an electronic fuel pump to pressurize the system. Then you could have a great older machine that is all mechanical and you check the fluids manually then fire it right up.
Man all that stuff y’all have on y’all planters is just to much electrical that give you to much trouble!! I know you want a good stand of corn but they have simple systems out there that is way more simple than what y’all have!! Just saying . Look like y’all have a lot of trouble with all the stuff y’all have on y’all planters. Hope y’all have a great corn crop buddy!!!😊

Nice videos love your Channel. I'll be leaving South Africa within 2 weeks to farm in Alabama. Great insight on how things are going down there.

Prolly just letting the computers boot up
Let's glow plugs warm up
Electronic self test on the machine.

When you talk about the cattle in another video be sure to explain it’s only manure if it’s on the ground. It it gets on you it’s DooDoo.🤢
What kind of camrea do you use to film?
Are you going back to 2 videos a week?
Do you ever see yourself getting back in cattle?
