It really sounds like “Fran Lab 3.0” is going to be more “Fran Friendly” than the 2.0 model. Glad to see that you are excited about it now. Nice to see a smile..
The layout looks pretty cool. That vertical space would feel nice. What's the total sqm/sqft? Walking distance to the wood shop is important. And yes the office is important, set up a good green screen for talking head screen overlay capture, multiple screens etc.
@@ian_b I was thinking just for that one room. Of course this may require Fran to be more gymnastic than she is accustomed to, especially when carrying liquids.
Here's to FranLab 3.0 👍 At least it was painted out and the triangle shapes on the carpet is from dry extraction carpet cleaning, at least the landlords seem to care
Oh boy tall racks! I've always wanted to get one of those ladders that rolls around to all your books and projects in their high up places. Yes, the sort that rolls around on rails like kinetic furniture :-)
Fran I hadn't see you much lately. Then today I saw a video and thought you were quiting all together. Now I see you at your new place. I hope your going to be around a long time. God bless
0:38 YES!!!! I always say “hi-fi” when talking about a record player and stereo system… or speaker… or iPod… let’s face it, hi-fi is just fun to say. Hi-fi. See.
Living in the lab; that's how you know you're an engineer to the bones. Anyhow, groovy space, Fran! The vertical height in the main room will be a big mental booster I think, and so will the music setup. Looking forward to good stuff ahead (including the build projects!).
I remember the video where you told us you were getting kicked out and had to find a new place to be. You seem to be doing so much better now. I love it.
That sunken room is screaming out for a 'shallow' mezzanine level. If anything, just for storage where you could slide boxes in. Lots of natural light which is great. And it sounds acoustically solid? - concrete walls and floors? 👍🏻🇬🇧
Looking good Fran, glad to see the new space ! I know you will make the best use of it you can !!! Looking forward to see FranLab 3.0 up and running in the near future !!!!
So much natural light! Love the need for a full endoscopy to ascertain the load bearing ability. That WOULD be a great video. Who knows what you'll find? Congratulations on the beautiful new digs!
Lots of high racking (just like an old library) may help out with the lack of floor space Fran. I hope you settle in OK and wish you well with the fit out.
Or get some industrial racking, and put up a mezzanine floor there, with some stairs up to it. Would be an issue with floor loading though, putting in too much stuff. However a mezzanine would easily be used for something like work or sleep area, along with having a workbench for assembly and video, all of which are low mass. That way the rooms can be used for storage and have some racks with a rolling ladder to get to the upper areas with lighter boxes.
It's great to see things moving in the right direction, Fran. Good luck getting it all set up, can't wait to see the first video from the all-new Fran Lab!! :)
Wow, the natural reverb in the first room is awesome! Quick! Grab an acoustic guitar and set the mic up high and about 8ft away. Nice hat too! Congratulations! Happy for you. : )
I looks very nice I like the light in the new space.👍👍 I hope you can settle in there for as long as you want to be there and if you move again it will be your choice.
Yes Fran!, new space looks awesome, those high ceilings with so much natural light will be so nice to work in! cant wait to see it all come together for you here ❤❤❤
Hey Fran, looks like you scored. Its not like there's an abundance of appropriate places on every block. Re your bed you could get a hide a bed sofa under the window. Looking forward to seeing it all unfold
I can always tell when you are stressed. Your face takes on a slight frown that never leaves. It's like you have have two personalities. Like Bert and Ernie. You're in Bert mode now. Once things get settled, Ernie will be back and we'll see Fran smile and be silly once again. Love following your journey, Fran. You're the best!
100% sympathize, been dreaming of a workshop or garage for all my projects. Grew up in the rural Midwest where everyone had a free standing workshop with tools, storage and big sliding doors. Took it for granted. Now live in Oakland and a falling down metal shed is $3M. Haven't finished the video yet, but are you going to live in that space too? Congrats on the space for 3.0!
Hey Fran! I just got a really rusty(and affordable) BMP. Turns out it is a v9 NYC BMP, early 2000 due to the pointy-knobs and the lack of true-bypass. I am happy to have a piece of your work with me now!
Fran, you appear very calm and collected. Great to see that, especially because of what you have been through in the last few months. I'm very interested to know how you go about multi-track recording. I'm a musician myself and have gone through the various methods throughout the years since the late 70's. Great looking new space!
The joys of city life. Allways on the move.. I know Fran doesn’t want to move to the country but you can’t beat owning cheep property where you can do and store what you want without the landlords bitching about it
Fran, did you consider sliding shelves? Like those in the archives of museums that leave only one aisle between two shelves. Those could double your storage space.
Yeah, and use the height of that big room for ... something haha! Not just empty space, is what I'm trying to say. And also do all that before all the stuff is starting to pile up ...
I am a little jealous. I currently have a 3x3 spot in my living room and an 8x8 shed for a space to do anything technical. Being winter here sucks as I would set upannoutside work bench at times. I am considering a storage unit but it will have no power and no heat. (Below freezing here 4+ months a year)
Cool new space look forward to seeing the new content that comes out. Do remember to do stuff that you like to don't get stuck in the well that's what they requested mentality. got to keep it mixed up a little bit.
It may not be quite what you wanted but it looks like a pretty nice space and the stairs down to the lab are quite a nice feature I think. I hope you get to stay there until a time of your choosing this time! Good luck.
So many possibilities!!! is there enough height put in a mezzanine? Cool load dispersal idea, I get it, like it, should help with sound also I guess. I should have probably done something like this years ago... I suppose I could get myself an isolation booth built up... better hurry before arthritis are old age crushes me completely. Well in any case, I am extremely happy for you, it all makes me grin your ear, you're a survivor for sure. well done Fran! ✌️❤️
It’s definitely nice to have easy access to a recording setup! I’m currently reorganizing my flat to be more recording/streaming focused on the living area, and having my office setup for 3D printing and build/repair! Can’t wait to see how FL3.0 turns out!
Looks nice, as tha lab room is so high i am thinking of a storage system with false ceiling in some areas. Lots of extra storage space and still enough free space on the floor
It really sounds like “Fran Lab 3.0” is going to be more “Fran Friendly” than the 2.0 model. Glad to see that you are excited about it now. Nice to see a smile..

Walking distance to the wood shop is important. And yes the office is important, set up a good green screen for talking head screen overlay capture, multiple screens etc.
Carrying distance to the wood shop is more important ;-)
It looks like you'd have more floor space if you put the room on it's side. Have you tried shifting the phase of your gravity by 90º?
@@ian_b Also, definitely do it before bringing the furniture.
@@ian_b I was thinking just for that one room. Of course this may require Fran to be more gymnastic than she is accustomed to, especially when carrying liquids.
I just saw the movie "arrival". Is that where you got the idea?
Here's to FranLab 3.0 👍
At least it was painted out and the triangle shapes on the carpet is from dry extraction carpet cleaning, at least the landlords seem to care
Fran, you're my hero. I'm currently transforming my home to allow space for tech and music hobbies. Your plan is inspiring!
Windows look amazing! The view from the top of those stairs would make for an interesting timelapse video during move in and long projects :D
Beautiful sunlight , lovely place
Oh boy tall racks! I've always wanted to get one of those ladders that rolls around to all your books and projects in their high up places.
Yes, the sort that rolls around on rails like kinetic furniture :-)
I’m sure you going to make it work out fine!
Shake off the stress and take a deep breath Fran!
I like the builds and projects! I like the documentaries, too. And the music. You're like a cool teacher.
Yay! FranLab 3.0 !! Hopefully permanent for now... Good luck in your new place, Fran! Looking forward to your new content from here. 👍

You inspire me every time I watch your videos👍🙂 good luck with the move. Look forward to seeing the new lab full👍
New year, new space, and a LOT of new possibilities! I am happy for you!
Can't beat natural light, enjoy filling all that space up with your wonderful STUFF!!!
I'm excited for you girl!
Make it happen.
hi Fran! that space is huge!! good to see you again!
Your resilience is admirable. I'm excited for you! I hope this works out long term 😎👍

"Living in the lab"......my wife threatens me with that every day here....Lol!
I'm so happy for you. I like it. One door closes partly and a new door starts to appear.
I remember the video where you told us you were getting kicked out and had to find a new place to be. You seem to be doing so much better now. I love it.
I like the sound of your proposed layout, very organised!
I can't wait for all the neat stuff that's gonna come out of the new space, Fran! Yay!
You are so smart and adorable. Thank you Fran for your great videos you put out. I love em all. Thank you.
Glad you have a new space. I look forward to your new videos.
Glad to see it coming together.

Nice! Here's to you in 2022 and better success for FranLab! 🍻
Many blessings for your move forward. You are an inspiration and much appreciated!
It can be fun starting in a new space. Congrats!
I feel happy for you Fran.. Cheers from Tassie Australia..
So glad you found a place. 👍
Good luck on your move. Love your new space

I’m so glad for you! I enjoy your videos on you tube! Glad you will be getting back with a bigger and better Franlab 3.0.!!!
I'm glad to see you're excited about the move. Your video on being kicked out of the old place was so sad.
I looks very nice I like the light in the new space.👍👍 I hope you can settle in there for as long as you want to be there and if you move again it will be your choice.
Good luck to 3.0!
I love the idea of more music. Can't wait to hear some of your new recordings. Keep rockin'!
Yes Fran!, new space looks awesome, those high ceilings with so much natural light will be so nice to work in! cant wait to see it all come together for you here ❤❤❤

What's the deal with the railing against the window?
I imagine so that toddlers can't just walk out the window, but it is weird.

Glad to see you came out on top of all this lab mess. I remember you were freak'n about it...
Good luck with your move Fran .
Even though it's a pain to have to switch spaces, the new digs look great!
Congratulations Fran!
Great job Fran, this will be the perfect move and setting up for you. I'm looking forward to your future videos!
Congrats Fran, so happy for you!
I just wish Franlab had the permanent home it deserves.

Lots of little squishy rooms! It's a nice space, but you're right, it's quite small... Glad you are making the best of it! Cheers!
Can you build a loft? Or at least shelves?

Sounds like you have some good aspirations, I can't wait for it to be realized! Glad your keeping with it Fran, all the best!
Hi Fran. The spaces - lab, storage\office, sorage\music\etc. - look good. I trust there is adequate "Fran" space as well. Here's to a smooth move!
Fran, did you consider sliding shelves? Like those in the archives of museums that leave only one aisle between two shelves. Those could double your storage space.
Yeah, and use the height of that big room for ... something haha! Not just empty space, is what I'm trying to say.

Then we really will have a Go Fund Me on our hands!
Fran, I find that moving is a great way to clean and re-organize 😂 Glad to see you will have a nice place to be YOU!
I'd try to make use of the vertical space of the main room.
All Lab, bed in bath tube! Lol! Best of luck Fran!
Looks great! I can't wait to see how it all comes together.
Nice to see your progress.
I'm excited to see what you do with this. Looks like a great space to me!
Fran it looks amazing! Good luck with the move and I love the hard wood floors!
Yay! Good stuff Fran, get it to your satisfaction, looking forward to the new stuff that will come out of there.

Nice layout for the size
you could build a metal scaffolding and a walkway that comes off the top step and you could put a bed and such up there. maybe a murphy bed.
Love the light of the new lab. Fair play to you.
Personally, practicalities aside, it looks like a lovely light, airy place. A really healthy workspace. Love it
Happy New year's may your territory be expanded multifold

Good Luck in the new place :)
Really happy for you 🙏
Yeah, I'd be trying to make use of the vertical space for some kinda of storage.
But i'm actually amazed how much energy you still put again and again and into that... 3.0 thing! that's insane!!!!!
It may not be quite what you wanted but it looks like a pretty nice space and the stairs down to the lab are quite a nice feature I think. I hope you get to stay there until a time of your choosing this time! Good luck.
Your Heathkit build series is how I found your channel. I love watching kit builds.

With the high ceiling you could hang a chandelier, maybe a nice piece of ceiling mobile art, or a disco ball and pin spots?
This space has steam heat?
this place looks great! the hifi acoustics should be fun with all that vertical space
Looks nice, as tha lab room is so high i am thinking of a storage system with false ceiling in some areas. Lots of extra storage space and still enough free space on the floor
so excited for you and the future of the channel!!! looking gorgeous as always ❤️ much love from argentina
Great space! Wish I could come help you set up!!
My favorite scientist; fraaaan :) Good luck with the new space; happy Sunday.
There isn't much more exciting than having a new space to put things in and unleash a piece of mind unto it!
