I started fishing when I was 10 after that I couldn’t look at any deep pool of water or see any spot with fish without trying to convince my dad to stop. Stopped at a hole similar to this on the side of the road just trying to catch trout ended up hooking in a 25lb chinook salmon it was legal and i put him back. I’ll never forget that Okuma Cascade spinning combo.
@@lilyannadenn2709you know we don't tell where a honey whole is. You have to explore and hike and fight the brush to find places. Still a lot of them out there. I found a new place last month. But not telling about it myself. We work to find places like that. But then, he could be fishing in a place he is not supposed to either.
Nice, nice and nice! I grew up on the Olympic peninsula, summer head have always been my favorite, especially in September with the shirts and low water.
My god, one of the most beautiful holes ever. Reminds me of a spot on elk Creek in PA. Shale bottom that would just drop off. I remember getting 6 fish in 6 drifts at one point, must have caught 30 on the day. Best trip of my life
@@jacksclabassi4209 I'm glad you know what I'm saying. But with gas and license cost it's been well over 10-15 years since I crossed the border from Ohio. I will say on average the fish I caught over here tended to be bigger but Elk will always have a special place in my heart. The first time we went there was because of us trying to find fishable water, I'll never forget my dad's friend showing us Trout run. As a 13 or 14 year old kid I was mesmerized. And if we are talking about the same bridge spot I was told they put a damn parking lot there. Smh

Nobody's going to share the location of a spot this good. Gotta do the work/research/scouting and go find your own honey hole. Either that or maybe get a good tip from some friendly locals, but be careful who you ask. Some may lead you on a wild goose chase to keep you away from their holes.

Actually shallow water is worse for fighting a big fish once they get in the shallows they can stand on thier tail and break your line .
Those upstream swimmers are extra strong
