I have underestimated Board James for so long, and now it's as big as AVGN for me.
You truly are the man, James.
I think he's planning something for board games soon and the bullshit man will make a return as well I believe
It's All Coming Together Now
The Mr Bucket segment should win an emmy or a tony or whatever award they give for buckets.
it's a slimmy
It's in my bucket list.
bad no puns
It is on many bucket lists 🙋♂️
Flex tape seal of approval
I can relate to the pain of James trying to get other people to play his complicated board games.
I more relate to season 2 board james
So true! These board games, I feel. Are very instrumental in instilling creativity and imagination. In a way that video games, for the most part. Do not provide the same experience.
@@ScarletintoFire what about Video Game Board Games?
"I turned you off!"
"Oh, but you turned me ooonnnnn"
is still one of the greatest lines in media history.
Witness the slow descent into madness.
But he's not crazy. These games are dangerous!
Oh sure. A man has nightmarish traumatic experiences and ends up drowning an anthropomorphic bucket in his basement sink, and suddenly he's "descending into madness"!
So, James Rolfe is Dr. Jekyll, The Nerd is Mr. Hyde, but who tf is Board James? This ruins my headcanon.
Man, they were genuinely having fun at the super unfair board game James made himself. That was a wonderful moment to capture on film lol
As a D&D addict Im always impressed by how dope those Dragon Strike minis are
i appreciate how james turned an innocent board game review series into a psycological horror series within 8 episodes

Best part
White DeVile g
Then he got his ass kicked.
I dont understand how and why James/AVGNs subscribers dropped and hasnt peaked since then. This man, busted his Rump and pioneered RUclips, amongst a dozen otheres. He set the bar for content and what it takes as a Creator. 90% of the videos nowadays are "Reaction" videos, heck even reaction of reaction videos. Then otheres who sit in front of the Camera, not talking to the viewers/subscribers, as if they just carry-on in there Average life and pressing record. James went way way beyond that, all of his research, schooling, editing, producing, amongst so many other things.
Not to mention the 40 some odd thousand people who tried copying his work, that wasnt even quality, just quanity. He took it upon himself amongst all the hours/days/weeks of work. For just some other idiots crapping out a video an hour kind of thing. Its highly agitating whether you were a fan of James or AVGN or not. He deserves much more credit for the hardships he's endured.
@James,
I hope for the best to you. As I wish you can get the budget/funding for the work that you really want to do. Like movies or even something through RUclips Red.
I'll tell you all this much. 2017 RUclips -- the viewers and the greedy mongrels of you to corporates a.k.a. Google this is the Tipping point of RUclips in general.
Thank you James, for the many many years of great Content
@Bruce Wayne It's been some years. Some of them died of old age.
And their kids deleted their youtube account. True story.
I think it's to do with yotube algorythms.
nobody likes mike... thats the reason. ;)
Jamey R. I like him
Did you just shit talk the viewers whilst being a viewer?
God, I can't believe it's been 10 years since the start of Board James.
I discover it today and avng one week ago , i love his video he bring me to the 90
This is one of my favorite series!
+SupaNintendoGirl
Yea, he took this series to another level this year. One of my favorites too.
+SupaNintendoGirl I would love to play fireball island with you and james and mike and this other random guy who commented
+Krowman84
lol.
Krowman84 LOL im down!
Adrian Fahrenheit Yea..I'm hoping he won't do any of those horrible things to us
Everyone knows it, and I'm not afraid to say it, Board James has topped AVGN. Now, don't get me wrong I could watch AVGN videos all day long(and have) but Board James really took it to another level.
totally agree
+Tim Gunnar I like both but in the fireball game i think its more fun that if the guy stand up he scape the fireball and if he falls hes dead not if the ball touch him he loses :D
+Tim Gunnar To be fair, though, he could easily make AVGN better.
All he needs to do is start adding a story arc to it, while keeping the comedy. (That's what Board James is doing, and I'm sure he could do it with AVGN. James Rolfe is pretty amazing.)
+Tim Gunnar Eh... I rather liked the actual review of games that he did more so than the dark and twisted direction it took as a psychopath who killed his friends.
Tim Gunnar It's James, tho. He can make us enjoy him playing any game he wants to.
"I think it was going for my balls" that line cracks me up every time, I can imagine it took many takes to say that with out laughing.
I forgot how well shot and genuinely creepy the Mr. Bucket video was. For something that sounds just so dumb and silly in concept to end up being so good is just amazing. Kudos James.
Everything started with an inoccent board game reviewer. Then it all scalated to Christopher Nolan levels of WTF.
+I am Hit-Girl That Mr. Bucket jumpscare really got me.
Redstorm 80 are you sure about that?
The psychological horror is always fun
You murdered a poor innocent e in "escalated". You monster >
Relax... It's all fun and games.
The Mr. Bucket one is awesome. He gets the absolute perfect balance of taking it seriously and making fun of it. Brilliant.
Bring back Board James!
I like how you can tell when it's just James and Mike playing they're genuinely having fun

LMAO
I must have watched this like 10 times, and I just heard that line this time. LMFAO
@@foxhero1337 I somehow missed that after so many rewatches too
I'd love to give a huge thank you to James for this wonderful series. Thanks to him I've descended into madness of board games too. I guess you can say I've become a Board James myself.
I would love it if, when Board James eventually ends, it turns out the whole series was a homebrew DnD game.
nestijo2 ...the ending is even more interesting than that
Board James of this year has been some of your best work.
If you ever decide to end it, do something similar to it.
+Intimidation I luv it more than avgn.
+Charles Ray I wouldn't go that far lol
+Intimidation I wonder what would be a similar series to this? Maybe more computer games?
+Charles Ray I think the fact that he can mess around with Board James characters and such helps. The nerd can't change much with out pissing people off. This season of Board James has been pretty awesome and hilarious!!
+Intimidation Agreed. I added this to my favorites/art playlist.
Mike is a great actor. Makes me laugh everytime!
6:57 I like how the lady only laughed for a pretense and was actually embarrassed to be there.
This is what you called Entertainment Gold!, it never gets old man.
10:10 "AND YOU BE THE WIZARD!!"
my favorite Board James line of all time
the cat is cute in the Weapons and Warriors :-)
its too bad the kitty recently passed away ;-;
@@theragingslushy noooo
Boo!!!!
I used to play dungeon and dragon with out knowing what DND was. Me and my neighbors used yu gi oh cards and made our own card game turn based DND style game using the kitchen tile pattern as the board with random land cards as transitions areas. I wish one of us actually knew what dnd was at the time I’m sure we’d loved it.
I miss the Board James segments. I wish that there was a comeback series. I don't that that'll ever happen, but a man can dream.
Deadly Danger Dungeon is like the board game version of Dark Souls.
Actually quite the opposite. Dark Souls is essentially entirely skill based and really easy when you intimately understand the mechanics, DDD is just sadistically unfair and luck based.
7:16 haha "Look at this madness... who's this guy??" James is such a naturally funny, sarcastic dude, the funniest shit he says is the normal, non-shtick type of lines
it's like some lines from family guy where they're not even said in a funny way, they're just spoken and it makes it ten times funnier
"Whaddaya want me to do, cast a death spell on 'em?" " Of course! "
Years later this is still excellent and something I come back to often when I need entertainment. Thanks guys for having these on YT now.
Cross Fiiiaaaa!!
Deadly Danger Dungeon: the Dark Souls of board games
Even the Dark Souls board game isn't this punishing!
The Jam Man there’s a dark souls board game?
Yeah man! Look it up.
That's simply wrong. Dark Souls relies on skills.
Deadly Danger Dungeon is the Slot Machine of board games. Because it's the only "game" that depends 100% on luck and has an almost non-existent success rate, just like the board game. Not even that heftily overhyped FTL is that random.
Did somebody ordered the dark souls game?
Mike is really awesome, I watch his Twitch and we talk to eachother. Real funny and cool dude

I like to play Fireball Island when my friends are over...except it's just Fireball.
@@CaveyMoth ther person that gets Fireballed should have to do a shot of Fireball every time their piece is "Fireballed"
12:46 "Hey stop touching my balls!"
Somehow I don't think that's the first (or last) time James has said that to Mike.
Such foreshadowing, with all the balls. This show is deeper than I thought.
Ahh, that phone call with Mike. Such a retro shot. It's like a 90's sitcom, I love it.
I'm so happy I have been a fan since I was 8 years old, now I'm 17 still re-watching his work. My favorite is Board James. While his other work I love just as deeply. The legend of his career (Angry Video Game Nerd) and the bullshit man are my Childhood characters I love deeply. I've never had a RUclipsr have this kind of Childhood effect on me. I think it's because of James Rolfe's Personality that makes me happy. He's so kind in real life, while his Characters are so different from himself (just like a character should be.) If he ever sees this comment I would be real happy, since I have all the DVD seasons of Board James and The Angry Video Game Nerd (including the movie.) He's basically my Childhood actor I adore watching. He's on the same level as Jim Carrey, since he's my Childhood actor as well. I'm really happy that I've watched him over the years!
I don't think it's appropriate you were watching this at the age of 8 with all the foul language. Just saying buddy
Michael Aguilera You act like kids dont already find out about those words at home or from kids at school
Michael Aguilera ive been watching since i was about 7 or 8 lmao
my favorite fucking quote from this video is "i could've made my own pieces out of clay or something but that was before I gave a fuck about anything"
that moment when you realized that Mike was the hippy from the avgn Texas chainsaw review lol
@mermaid his joker is pretty great too
In the Crossfire segment, it's like he's phasing between Bugs Bunny and Texas Chainsaw Massacre Hippy.
I think he was Spiderman too
@@trcsonic Nah Kyle was spiderman
Mike did a really good impression of Chop Top
WoaH! Board James started in 2009? It seems like just yesterday!
My thoughts exactly.
"Have you ever seen a wizard going around wearing a dead animal on his head?"
Literally everywhere in Native American and Pagan culture.
except that they are not "wizards".
They're priests and thank gods for em!🙌💪👻
Except their not refered to as "wizards".
Was anyone ever titled Wizard?
Wizard: one skilled in magic
Jesus you guys are dumb
"DANK CASTLES" He did it before it was cool
It was never cool.
Pretty dank tho °¬°
The word _dank_ has a real definition with relevance to such things. It doesn't mean "neat-o" or "a random sound effect people make to cause instant hilarity."
Board James deserved a movie more than AVGN.
it would be a great horror/comedy movie
BLASPHEMY
it would make a good movie tho
Well, AVGN is more popular than Board James.
12:05, The Man himself makes his appearance, with a somersault no-less!
That would be a forward tumble, actually, but I concur with your sentiment.
What
Mike's Board James debut is some of the best stuff that ever existed :DDDDDDDD
You know, after watching these I realize that MFM wasn't even close to a terrible friend, but a true one.
WELL that's ironic.
"Just crank that shit!"
That Crossfire episode ending is so awesome, I can't even find words for it!
13:50
That face, the face... I can't stop staring at it. James has the best facial expressions!
After Crossfire and Weapons and Warriors, I kind of understand why he killed Mike.
He didn't it was the phone
@@1t2gamer Who was just an hallucination.
Cheaters Get Murdered By James's Dream Phone.
When you're dealing with weapons and warrior, people are bound to be caught in the crossfire.
I like old James movies. They have something "feels like home" about them =) Was greate watching these (I only started following Board James this year).
Mike looks so young,James just doesn’t age
He aged a little bit
Weapons and Warriors actually seems like a dope game if you just buy two sets and give both players one of everything.
The dragon strike clip was hilarious and its definitely got that D&D vibe to it
You really should release a PDF of the Deadly Danger Dungeon board so we can all play it!
I recreated it usin' snippets from da video, a white piece of paper, an' muh two handz
Shit...it IS damn friggin' hard!!!! It took exactly 76 tries for me t'finish!!!

@@Crazy_2100 they sound awful
What started as an innocent series on retro board games, has become very dark indeed.
Oh my freaking gosh. That Mr bucket was a flashback. I had that toy and i LOVED IT
Just watched the whole season and it's just too awesome! Congratulations and thanks for being so creative James, Mike and everyone involved!
I always crack up at Mike in the Crossfire Board James
"Who wants to play the game!? JUST CRANK THAT SHIT!!"
Still one of my favorite quotes!
Still one of the best series, started the board game reviews on RUclips. Love the sheer reviews themselves, couldn't afford to buy a lot of board games when I was young, but I love them and hearing about all these classics.
I’ve been watching this vid for five years every time I’m “board” and it never gets old
At 21:58 when Mike said "Roll The Dice" then rock music played....shit got real

Board James was the best out of everything they had done.
Just realized Mike did the voice for that head scratching hippie in the Texas Chainsaw AVGN. This coming from the Crossfire episode. Nice.
Board James! When Board James is bored, he plays some board games!
james does horror so well i got chills
I like how Mike's onscreen persona is never too far away from his Buggs Bunny, even when he's not in a costume
As much as I love the AVGN stuff, Board James has always been my favorite series of your videos!

Heroquest, Dragonstrike, and Weapons and Warriors were my favorite games as a kid. We played them so much. Seeing the Heroquest pieces all mixed together triggered me. I always bag my components neatly so they don't get damaged.
The ABSOLUTE APEX of RUclips content.
I played Deadly Danger Dungeons on Tabletop Simulator, I managed to get the talisman before dying . That's as far as I went
I liked Board James more when it was innocent.
Me too, kind of. I mean, I like the direction they took to make sure it doesn't get stale, but I'm on board with you; it was more fun without all the dark subplots.
What do you mean?
+HalfLife(Ger) watch it from the dreamphone episode and keep seeing the next ones. it will become clear to you
+GoodMachines I liked the pun "on board with you".
+SteveDoidoUltimate The dark subplots made it even more interesting imo, but to each their own.
@31:56 "AAAHHH, this is HELL; this is HELL!"
I lose it every time!
When I saw the "Fireball Island" review, I noticed the firejewel piece. The game company actually recycled that game piece from another board game called "Lazer Attack" from Milton Bradley. I had that game as a kid back in the 1970's. The game had a "Death Star" with a spinning light in the center and the players had clear, plastic, spacecraft that had to move around the board mining those gems. They then had to fly in close to the space station and jam the gems into the laser ports of the space station and if the light came out of one of the gems when you spun it, you won. You would play the game in the dark and the effect was pretty cool because when you would spin the light, it would illuminate your ship and make it glow if it hit it and cause you to lose all your gems. I still have one of the gems and I think one of the space ships from that game that I now use as model scenery for miniature wargaming. Anyway. I thought that I would share that.
Dying of laughter after that Mr. Bucket episode oh man you guys must have been laughing your ass off when you made that 1.
Mr Bucket officially creeps me out now
Who knew "hyper reality" meant 90's fmv
I dig your "GORF" t-shirt! I love that old arcade classic!!!
There was a game I had in the 90s called Hero's Quest, I loved the game! It was another game that eased people into Dungeons & Dragons.

I still laugh my butt off at the Mr. Bucket episode, and the possessed Mr. Bucket with his creepy gear grinding and dinging bell, and Jame's reaction to all of it. I'm sitting over here having a giggle fit.
After watching the Dragon Strike portion, I realized I once owned this game. I had the feeling of nostalgia trying to work its way through but I can quite pinpoint when I owned it... pretty sure I just played with the pieces and watched the movie several times as I didn't have anyone to play it with.
my mom got me this game (Dragon Strike) as a kid...I didn't have any friends to play it with..so all my experience with the game is just the VHS tape and looking forlornly over all the cards, placeholders and miniatures I never got to use in an actual game of Dragon Strike..
