This makes it look so easy.... I've owned 2 DRZs so far and on both of them it was absolutely impossible to losen the nuts on the rear tire sprocket with anything other than a heavy wrench and absolute brute force. Hate that shit.
I doubt you’ll see this but realistically how long should changing the chain and sprockets take on the drz? I’m asking because I’m currently waiting at a garage and its been 2 1/2 hours
Pro-tip: use the brakes for the front sprocket, and on the nuts for the rear sprocket, loosen the nuts, not the bolts. It's a lot easier to strip the allen than the nut itself. Did anyone ever settle the debate on master links for the street?
the brake is typically easier especially if you have an extra hand... but if you think tightening that bolt with the engine in gear is gonna hurt anything youre looney
LizardMane They are VERY hard to find. It was a factory Suzuki accessory back in the day. Part of the supermoto appearance package. Sometimes you can find them online, only seen yellow lately and it was about $450
This place is showing yellow fenders and yellow full appearance kits in stock www.oneidasuzuki.com/store/parts-accessories/super-moto-appearance-kit-drz400sm-2006-09.html
Good video. Please keep'em coming. Plenty of DRZ400SM videos out there but super hard to find people that explain it for newbies. Thanks!

Nice video - thanks Vroomtastic.
Thats a clean SM. Very nice. Great video. Im super jealous about that Carbon chain guard. Im on the hunt for that puppy.
I know it's been 2 years since you've commented but srmoto carries various carbon parts and they should have that guard.
THAT HIGH PITCH SOUND IS EXCRUCIATING! Check your recording equipment!
Nicely done man
Thanks dude. And it looks like you finally activated replies for your comments! haha

At 7:12 what were you hammering at? And also how much faster can the bike go with a 15 tooth sprocket instead of the stock sprocket
Why do you bend up the washer on the small sprocket after putting it on?
Where did you get that chain gaurd
What stand are u using to hold this bike up I’ve can’t find one anywhere 😤
did that chain last?
Your rear sprocket bolts came off so easy mine are getting stripped so easy and wont come off
Don't you have to hammer the master link so it makes a rivet?
No, it used a locking clip. The chain that comes stock requires you to grind it off, it does not have a master link.
When you change the front sprocket different tooth No. you have to adjust the cams?
Allen R no
dude use the brake, not the engine to tighten the front sprocket

No loctite mod?
what stands are those
and what chain is that link if you have it....
Link for that front fender??
