Watching the first one come in... wow. That designer really knew what he was doing. The spray rail works perfect. Pushes the water right out to the sides.
I initially didn't really like the sport fishing yachts. Assumed alot of bait tackle, fish guts etc etc all over the place. Until I started watching videos of the interior on most of them. Wow, I had no idea how big they were and how nice the inside is. Now, they are at the top of my list. Love their sleek and simple style. I still have no idea how these pilots are able to see over the bow of these sporting yachts and center consoles.
We’ve got a friend who captains a 92ft enclosed bridge Viking. We thought about buying a smaller sport fish a few years ago until he told us that buying it was the cheapest part of owning it 😂
That 92 foot Viking was almost certainly north of 10 million dollars, and with boats of this size, the rule of thumb is 10% of the replacement price every year in operating costs, not counting fuel...
Not in fresh water! This is why we love the great lakes so much. Maintenance is still required, but no concerns with flushing and rebuilding all the time.
Love reading these comments from folks with experience. I have my 2 Sea Doos and one day may upgrade to a 20-something footer boat but this stuff is in another universe. Thanks for giving us a peak into it! Pretty fascinating. 👍🏼
The deckhands start doing the washdown as they enter the harbor, can only imagine the amount of cleanup this size of vessel requires after every trip, Awesome

It's an efficient and effective design that has worked for its purpose. A high bow to shear water away at speed and low-freeboard cockpit to enable fish handling. The hulls are designed for speed and comfort of ride. The Bridge allows captain to see the action in the cockpit and behind the boat when fighting fish and to see the bow underway. The high towers allow crew to better sight bait fish on the surface as well as targeted species chasing them. These are just a few.
