action on Monday afternoon, these are the firsts boats to come running to the scales and some other boats not in the tournament that made the cut... enjoy.
Wanna say thanks again for making the trek to Maryland and for you putting out these videos. Loving the small changes you've made in your format/informatio n bullets. I especially liked the info about the boats that won prize money for their catch - it is cool to see the different types and sizes of boats that are competing. Thanks man!
thanks and you're welcome! I thought it important to include the prize money! I was very surprised to see so many small boats running out 70 miles off shore, but I guess if you're going to make the trek, best to do it with several hundred other boats around to lend a hand if needed!
So wild to have watched your FLA vids and now you're up in this area! The content and quality is great, along w/ the production. We know it's a ton of work for something that looks so straightforward, but that's how you know you're doing a great job - because it all "just flows"!
Great Video👍 Yep....that’s way I remember the Inlet in Ocean City Maryland 😂 It’s like running through a Washing Machine 🧼. Bouncing and Pounding the Water, no matter what boat you are running.
Kids to bed ✔...Wife reading a book✔✔...OC Inlet and a new video from ZipZap✔✔✔... Great way to end the day! The OC Maryland inlet is always a happen place! Nice work ZipZap.! Looking forward to the next video.
Nice, and even better in 4K. If you want a stable ride through the swell a big boat with a deep V hull and lots of power at the stern is the way to go.
Great stuff. Can’t wait to see more. Also shows that not all the fools in speed boats slamming hulls, causing spinal injuries and rendering passengers unconscious are at Haulover.
I did not, I was ill prepared for how big this event was and everything that was going on.. I had no idea there would be thousands of people at the inlet at 4am to watch the boats run out on Monday...
Those HCB Suenos's are sweet! The addition of the fly bridge also totally changes the look of the boat, as evidenced by the second boat which was also a Suenos.
ChrisCo, for the most part this is a relatively mild inlet. I have a World Cat 266sc and can count the days I've had to back off the throttle on one hand out of hundreds of times in/out of here. There's no place like home, lol
Those Viking's are so sweet. Note to everyone who wants to make a custom on a production platform just perfect. I am also surprised how the Viking's are running smoother to the Hatteras GT59, which was riding quite bow high. Yellowfin is also sweet, the lines are so clean.
Ohhh thanks for that detail.. I heard he was there but didnt know he was a boat owner.. Gonna see if i can break her out in her own vid and get some of that sweet "BAM!" action.... Thanks..
Thank you! I had it trimmed out a bit too much and even lost a bit of control because of waving to zip zap. We were fortunate enough to be on the “cuttin’ waves and makin’ rainbows”. Really appreciate zip zap capturing my cherished family memories on video
That 72 Viking has an amazing ride especially with a sea keeper stabilizer gyro. Great footage of the 72 gliding over the slop typical of wind against the tide. Notice the vessel does not pitch or heel to one side just keeps course almost dancing on top and not plowing through the waves ultimately increasing handling and economy. Plowing through the seas creates drag to compensate for that an increase in power is necessary to maintain speed, increasing power means more fuel, stress on the engines and gears as well as all components of the propulsion system. One last thing notice how the spray is diverted away keeping the bow and upper station eisn glass free of salt spray, the hull design is incomparable to any other vessel in production today, keep watching you will be hard pressed to find another vessel of size that handles sloppy water like a Viking, thanks for reading my little rant.
If you take the name and the numbers off the side they look like a combination of 10 different center console boats!! Haha I work at a cape Horn dealership I see a lot of them everyday.
Thanks! Base entry fee is $1,100, but to get in the big money you have to enter more classes, this is sometimes why you'll see a 2nd place fish by weight with more prize money than a 1st place fish... here is the list of all classes and the fee.. whitemarlinopen.com/added-entry
Thanks for the reply. It is amazing what folks pay to go fishing lol. I guess the days of fishing on the dock or bank are long gone lol. Do they have a big fishing tournament in Virginia Beach, Va ? My brother use to go out over there for a tournament.
Goto whitemarlinopen.com, they list the winners and all the boats entered and the reported catches.. To get to the catches you have to dig.. Goto tournament info then scroll down to registered boats, then you can click on boat and find the details
@@ZipZapPower haha yes for sure! Capsizing, swimmers in distress, boats taking on water I've seen and dealt with it all. But you guys definitely have some serious nasty conditions to deal with as well! Never take the ocean lightly! It bites back
That hit at @2:38 is doing damage to something..... jezzus christ..... A 26 footer isn't exactly an offshore racing boat. That's a great big lake boat in 2-3 foot chop that it can bridge across easily, not for repeatedly jumping 5 to 7 ft swells. Oh well, money is easier to come by than brains.....
that is the prize money from the tournament.. the anglers usually donate the fish (I'm betting they keep the tunas and dolphin!) to the Maryland Food Bank. it is the "World's Largest & Richest Billfish Tournament"
I work at a marina in oc the guy owns some sort of big company that needs a lot of trucks because when i told him his 1500 dollar total for fuel he asked me to try and run his “fleet card”. Really cool dude that owns that boat though.
Thanks, lots of entry levels.. I heard minimun entry was 1200... and all in was something like $27,000... Someone feel free to correct me if you know... Thier website prolly has details

thanks. for recognizing the effort! Ocean City is on the rotation now, great seaside town and boat action.
That natural resource police boat was dope.
Great Video👍
Yep....that’s way I remember the Inlet in Ocean City Maryland 😂

Bouncing and Pounding the Water, no matter what boat you are running.

Lots more coming.. gonna take me a while to get through them all, have work and jury duty this week..
@@ZipZapPower damn jury duty
Welcome back! You are still the best without a doubt.
The boats with the "Carolina flair " look awesome crashing through the waves!
Love it, i live here in Ocean View, DE and always watch your videos. I love seeing one from OCMD!
Super cool to see you up here in OCMD. Was really excited to see you post some content from the WMO. Awesome week.
great week, I've got a lot of clips coming, I even hit up Indian river inlet and was very impressed with the action and beach. will be coming back ..
ZipZapPower awesome I work at sunset grille and obviously our marina was popping. Did you get a chance to swing by?
I did not, I was ill prepared for how big this event was and everything that was going on.. I had no idea there would be thousands of people at the inlet at 4am to watch the boats run out on Monday...
Yessir, one of the coolest boating scenes out there!
7:01, that Cobia 296 rode so level and sliced through the chop. Prior owner of the brand and it’s a very underrated ride (have a CV now).
For it's size and at that speed for sure. But the HBC 53' and the Midnight Express 43 are both just beasts!
The first boat was the best in my opinion. Great vid 🐟🐟🎣🚤🚤
Those HCB Suenos's are sweet! The addition of the fly bridge also totally changes the look of the boat, as evidenced by the second boat which was also a Suenos.
I liked this video before I even watched it. Thanks for making the trip!
thanks!
I've never seen this inlet. I like this inlet!!! 👍
this place is incredible, local subscribers were telling me how crazy the waves get here, very excited to go back
ChrisCo for the most part it’s a pretty smooth inlet but I can get pretty nasty some days.
ChrisCo, for the most part this is a relatively mild inlet. I have a World Cat 266sc and can count the days I've had to back off the throttle on one hand out of hundreds of times in/out of here.

John Pasquariello same here we’ve got a 25 center console and I can only think of a time or two I had to slow down for the inlet condition

Gotta love Ocean city Inlet!
Man great video. Seakeeper boat was a great shot. I’ll show it to those guys
Very cool, what make is the boat? Seavee? Tell them congrats on the catch for me
ZipZapPower it’s a blue water.
The Miss Victoria boat is Emeril Lagasse's yacht
Ohhh thanks for that detail.. I heard he was there but didnt know he was a boat owner.. Gonna see if i can break her out in her own vid and get some of that sweet "BAM!" action.... Thanks..
That Viking @ 8:27.....wow. What a vessel.
Emeril lagasse's boat. He's pretty well known to be into fishing.
Two big zip zap fans on that Sailfish 245! Thanks for the great work!
very cool! looking good out there!

I absolutely love coastguard ships. Its a dream to have sleek boat with one big superstructure.
Awesome awesome video! Thank you for posting this!

Its always nice to dream, till you look up what your dream cost and have mild chest pains. Great video of some awesome dreams lol
some of these boats make a Lamborghini seem like a down right bargain.

6:10 might be a Cape horn 27 or 31, with a sweet little top station!!
Yup and 3:47 looks like an Ocean Master 27
cape horns always throwing me for a loop, I don't see them enough..
If you take the name and the numbers off the side they look like a combination of 10 different center console boats!! Haha I work at a cape Horn dealership I see a lot of them everyday.
Looks like a Cape Horn 31T. Th y have the sheer line of a Yellowfin but for some reason. The YFs just look nicer (in my humble opinion)....
Thanks for filming
That guy riding his Baja at 2:35 to his wife : "Hold my kid"
He has to feel that the next day
"Nice used boat. Never raced offshore" wink wink.....
Hope you found time to get some crabs!!! Have to give us an update on the whole trip
got crab cake.
Notice at the 7:36 mark the anchor not secure in the chute, if there was a foot more rode out it would have tore up the bow real good.
Damn, that Viking 80 is beautiful!
Damn, some nice boats in this one! That black Midnight Express was super sexy
very surprised to see that in a fishing tournament
@@ZipZapPower Ditto. I guess fashion and fishing ARE compatible!
until you set a hook in those forward lounge seats!

Was this the year that the Bayliss Boatworks 'Seven' anglers caught the biggest blue marlin and biggest tuna of the tournament? They won near 3 mil.
7:40 That anchor bouncing around on the bow of that yellowfin is making me uncomfortable.
good way to mess up your gelcoat.

I'm guessing they stay out 'til the very last minute, and then they have to really push to make it to the scales before closing
yes.. lines out at 3:30.. then gotta run 70 miles back to Ocean City.
Adippen you get four hours to get in but if you’ve got a two hour fish fight and then have two hours left to get 60+ miles it can be close
Hooray for the classic Mako!
Yes! Just as happy to see that as I am the multi million dollar sport fishing yachts. Great variety. Looks like some young salty dogs on that thing.
Classic makos rock

"Livin' off the Land" still disliking your videos.😄 Too sad.😭
Is it true you can actually see that? If so, what a douche move from a total copycat channel.
@@longpoint17 meant as a joke, but still ... 😆 And yes, complete copycat. There is only one original and that is ZipZapPower!
LOL probably true
@Brian Richner Actually that WAS ZipZapPower in MD. Just saying ... 🤗
Hey Brian, I started booking the MD trip last year. Met a sub at 2018 FLIBS who told me about the WMO and was sold on the spot!
Great video
Love it
great footage

Why is the water so turbulent mainly in the inlet?
narrow inlet leading to a large bay, lots of current during tide changes.
