- We're gonna Break Down the Wall with this one, the band is Stone Fury and they sound really familiar to me, I don't know where or when but, I feel like I have heard Stone Fury before, and you a fan of Stone fury? tell me your story in the comments below.
Moving from Hamburg, Germany, to Los Angeles, USA, in 1983, vocalist Lenny Wolf teamed up with Bruce Gowdy (guitar) to form Stone Fury. Adding Rick Wilson (bass) and Jody Cortez (drums), they signed to MCA Records and debuted the following year with Burns Like A Star.

Criminally underrated album.
Definitely! 🤜
Kingdom Come is definitely who you’re thinking of. This album here is a really good listen. Have had this since it came out. Great video Shane!
Kingdom Come is also Lenny Wolf. That's hilarious.
One of the best hard rock albums of the 80’s Lenny Wolf crushes it on this one…and in Kingdom Come.
I own this album. It’s funny how i got to find this band. My dad dug out a box full of cassettes he had from the 80s and of course he had some he recorded from the radio back in the day when he would come to visit family in Houston Texas (my dad was from Mexico). This one cassette in specific had this song from Stone Fury, but we couldn’t figure out the band name at that time. With modern tech/apps we used pandora and walaaa. We found it was stone fury. My dad said he waited 30 years to find out what band it was that sang that song. Living in Mexico it was hard to get knowledge of these bands, it was only in his summer travels to the States where he would get to see MTV and get info on bands , go to record stores and record more songs from the radio in his tapes. We now own the audio files of the album and also the LP. The whole album fucking rocks hard.
Sorry meant to say we used SHAZAM
Con madre
Also, gonna tell on myself here, but this song is on the Listen FM track listing in American Truck Simulator. The game has a whole Hair Bands channel and this one comes on, not irregularly, but not so often that I get used to hearing it. It's like a special treat. And being a glam/hair metal nerd, I was like HOLY SHIT WHO ARE THESE GUYS???
Instant Shazam.
Lenny wolf is the Man. You had to be very intricate and love quality singing melody and harmonies to know about Stone Fury.
Kingdom Come was after. Same singer.
Nah, you just have to have had a local rock station (and DJ) that was worth a $h1t.
We got Stone Fury, Kingdom Come, Killer Dwarfs, Y&T, Kix, Von Groove, you name it, all through the 80's.
Yes, the band you're thinking about IS Kingdom Come!! Lenny Wolf of Stone Fury sang for that band as well!! They had a lot more success than Stone Fury!! Although I liked SF more because they were raw & KC was more mainstream!!
Love the song. Listened to it about 5000 times so far. Awesome tune Very underrated.
I saw them live down in Corpus Christi Texas, met them and got their autographs.I still have those today. I won a pair tickets along with that album on the local radio station contest. I just can’t remember if they toured with Queensryche when Queensryche was touring on their first album, or if it was another band.
I saw them in San Antonio that year. I beleieve they toured with Aerosmith on the Done with Mirrors tour.
@@alamocitycollectibles6105 Yes, you’re right. I remember I also saw Aerosmith, Thanks. Was there a third band? I know some concerts at the time had three bands that toured together.
@@luisvillarreal5262 Thats right but I do not recall who the third band was. I remember seeing Rainbow (Difficult to Cure Tour), August 18, 1982, with Riot and Saxon opening up. I also remember Seeing Judas Priest (Point of Entry Tour in 1983) with Iron Maiden (Number of the Beat Tour) and opening act Girl School. Those were great days!
@@luisvillarreal5262 Sorry, I meant Judas Priest 1981 (Point of Entry) with Iron Maiden (Killers Tour) and Girl School.
@@alamocitycollectibles6105 yep, I remember seeing that concert, ( Priest, Maiden and Girl School) as well.
I got this record when it first came out. At the time I use to hang out with a guy named Star Fields, Star up and kind of disappeared at some point but back then people did that from time to time. Well after not seeing him for a few months I walk into the local Record Store and he is working behind the counter. I ask him what have you been up to? He says his van caught fire and he suffered from some pretty severe burns.
We catch up for a few. He asks what I am doing, tell him just checking out new records at which point he says you got to give this a listen, Stone Fury, Burns Like a Star. So I picked it up, it became my Barry White record if you know what I mean 😂
Also the drummer is the guy who actually plays on Cinderella’s Night Songs.
Never heard of them before, but damn they're good. They just got a new fan.
Stone Fury opened up for Aerosmith in the 80s- Corpus Christi, Texas- Great show
The singer is Lenny Wolf (guitars) of Stone Fury, then he went to be the singer of Kingdome Come. Iv'e listened to them since 1984. Other members are Bruce Gowdy, Lead guitar, Rick Wilson, Bass guitar, Jody Cortez, Drums. Other members on their first album, "Burns like a star", are George Perilli, Drums, and Peter Parnegg, Bass guitar.
Also Randy castillo for a short time
This voice ❤❤❤❤ ich habe es bedtimmt 2000 mal gehört und es werden nochmal 2000 dazu kommen
Fun fact: Stone Fury would later be known as Kingdom Come with a slightly different lineup, but ultimately, in my heart, the same band.
noooo way!!!!!!!!!!
slightly different like 4/5 were other musicians 😅
Lenny wolf also sang for a band called kingdom come.there big hit was "get it on "
Interesting. I would have said Kingdom Come's big hit was "Do You Like It"
They also released an album in 1986 called Let Them Talk which was a total commercial flop. But it did bring about Kingdom Come.
They had a second less popular record titled " Let Them Talk".
KINGDOM COME! Same singer, amazing voice
Lenny Wolf went on to form Kingdom Come. That's who you're thinking of.
One of the epic parts about 80's hard rock songs was waiting for the killer guitar solo.
Break Down the Walls were one of the greats, where everything from the beginning of the song you just knew the solo was going to rock! It doesn't disappoint!
They had like a second album but it just didn't go anywhere. And then I think in 1986 or 87 Lenny Wolf created Kingdom Come. They made like three albums or four but their first album was definitely the best
Kingdom Come has 14 albums total....one of my favorite bands only behind Def Leppard and Mötley Crüe.
Great, great album
Lenny Wolf he was with Kingdom Come
That's that voice!
Everyone else quickly pointed out Kingdom Come so no need to jump in with that tidbit! I remember this song and this album....I had a short-lived crush on Lenny Wolf when the video for Life Is Too Lonely came out....by the time Kingdom Come happened, I was like, "Oh." 😐😹 I think Randy Castillo played with Stone Fury for a while.....
Wait....wasn't that band Kingdom Come?
@@bueymb Wasn't what band Kingdom Come? Need more to go on, darling... 😹😵
@@MissAlthea I'm going with both bands on this one
Yes, yes Kingdom Come and second everyone else's comments about Lenny or Kingdom Come. I also second specifically everything Thomas Brown said- I really dug "Do you Like It" in spite of the gruff about comparisons to Zep. I dug this tune as well. Loved the listen Shane!
This band rocked
As a Kc fan since the beginning, I just yesterday heard this song and realized, I've heard it before. You can find it on KC- rendered waters album.
SMART MAN ...yes when a logo is KOoL it usually follows with a great band .....first listen to this song yesterday ..
Lenny Wolf ❤
I heard Japanese band Loudness influenced Metal. Guitars and vocals sound similar.
Great band
I believe Stone Fury started in Illinois? Somewhere in midwest
They also have an album titled Let Them Talk came out in '86 I believe.
And yes the first Kingdom Come album is similar vocally to Led Zep but if you go and listen to their other releases they changed into a very good band (in my opinion) They put out 13 albums
It's the same singer. Lenny Wolf sang for both Stone Fury and Kingdom Come.
Kingdom Come was considered Led Zeppelin wannabes. But Lenny was awesome. I didn't mind the heavier Led Zeppelin style in their music. You should definitely check out Do you like it,by Kingdom Come or Get it on. I agree he does sound alot like Dave King from Fastway. Also the lead vocalist from Tora Tora.
Would love to submit an album- how does one go about it? I just see a PayPal link, etc- though that? Anyway, great show/job man!
what song ya got?
Lenny wolf left this band and formed kingdom come.
They had another album after this one
Kingdom Come
Wolf sing in kingdome come, the band you are searching with the acustic led zeppelin cover its great white!
ELO come to mind
They have 2 albums “ Burns like a Star” and “ Let Them Talk” The first album only seems to get better with age and as you go through the album it grows on you. The second effort seem to waver a bit because they seem to get away from that pure raw edge that gave them the spotlight. Still that being said “ Let them talk” to me is still better that a lot that I have Heard. Title track “ let them talk” and “ lies on the run” are probably the best of the lot but like I said they tend to grow on you. It is a shame this band went on their ways … could of been a real solid group. As for the zeppelin rap I never put them up to each other. Zeppelin is king but Lenny Wolfe had the pipes for sure.
Man you should do the song The Beast Inside from Autograph, it appeared on the movie Fright Night. Fkng awesome!
You can't hide from the beast inside*
You need to do some research on bands . Before you do any reviews on them. That's Lenny Wolf from Kingdom Come . Very similar to Dave King of fastway..had a sealed original copy of Lp this Lp around $125 00
KINGDOM COME maybe
yes definitely sounds like FASTWAY ..
Request: Planet P - Why Me?
They Said Kingdom Come Was Zep Rip offs
Shannon you lose is another great tune
You look like Jerry Lewis
I was hoping I looked more like Dean Martin but I'll Take it!
Was is´n das? Fozzy Bär auf Speed? So ´ne Knallschote, und Peilung hat er auch null. Mannomann, wie bin ich nur hier gelandet... hahaharrrr
Weird dude.
