I have ad sets that are getting some sales and CTR of 3-11%. The sales are coming when the conversion event is set to "view content." When I switch to purchase, sales stop. I'm selling print on demand tshirts priced at $19.99 free shipping, +20% off coupon in the ad. It's really cofusing to me that I will sometimes get 4 or 5 sales in a day, then go 4 or 5 days without a sale. Im losing money on the ads, but because I'm at the beginning, I'm thinking it could be the product page, it could be the targeting, but there are enough sales to make me I can get it to work.
Also I've visited Manchester and loved it. Can't wait to go back.
You will see a really high CTR on VC ads because that's what they are there for but their intent to buy is lower. When you switch to PUR you will see a drop off in CTR which means less people are coming to your page but their intent to buy is higher.
@@ChrisWane Thanks mate. IHow long should I run an ad with no sales on purchase when I know it gets modest sales on VC> I'm ruinning $5 a day.
This is correct, I did the mistake of starting with $50 on a new product, I lost $300 and only made $90 in sales, i took everything off now im targeting new people for only $25 a day meaning i need to sales a day to gain a small profit.

Good observations -good advice .. I've seen many also running $5-10 per day WC ads when their CPM's are $20+! Theyre never going to get enough impressions to get any traction least from the 'Big4'. Unless of course their product is sensational !!
That's funny, I thought I was the only one calling Big4 as Big4 lol
**(note) Mistakes.
(1) poorly designed website. keep it clean, crisp, consistent. good descriptions and videos.
(2) thinking a high ad-spend will always equate to high spend. uneconomic/inefficient ad spending.
(3) selling previously winning products. saturated or dated products. bandwagon hopping. keep an eye on demand/google trends.
(4) thinking of dropshipping as get rich quick.

Hey Chris I love your videos very educational. I've only been in dropshipping about 6 weeks. Im still in the learning stages and have just recently finished my store atleast I think I have and I have a million questions I'd like to ask but I'll start with this one?
So I'm using WordPress and built my own store and was wondering why did you choose to use shopify/Oberlo rather then go with wordpress? I've been told Shopify and other platforms like them take alot of your profits is this true? I decided to go with WordPress and go on my own because I've read and heard it's much more learning but much more profitable in the end. Thanks for all the amazing truthful info you give us all.2 thumbs up!!!
Shopify is just the best platform in my opinion, it has lots of functionality and tonnes of apps you can connect. It's all built for you so you don't need any coding skills or anything like that

Hi Cris! Thanks for all the information. I have just one question. Here you've told us that one of the mistakes is the people are trying to sell a product that's won in the past. Do you think that for me as a total beginner, dropshiping is still something where I can earn even I'm starting from zero.. Or is it just the "business model product" that is in its peak now in 2020? Hey Chris. Great job for the awesome content. So you suggest that we kill an adset as soon as it has spent over the break even point? No matter if it had a couple sales or not?
If it's profitable keep it going! Only kill it if your roas is below your breakeven roas.

So don't choose your first product based on popularity? Find unique products that haven't been sold that much in your niche? Is this interpretation correct? Thank you!
If you can find a product that matches the winning product criteria but doesn't really seem to have massive competition then you've got a better chance of making it a success

Great video as always, I just had a quick question. I had a pretty good idea for my shopify store name but the domain is already taken. Should I switch the name of the shopify store or make the domain something similar? Thank you!
You want to keep the name of your brand and your domain the same
It is becoming a Genral perception that Facebook ads are not profitable anymore as most people do not buy through this channel now. What's your opinion on this Chris? I would expect an honest reply from you as I will follow that advise wholeheartedly.
People still buy through Facebook every single day, I'm not sure where you got that information from.

Yeah I understand that, I've been there too!
Even though the cost of the academy might seem like a lot of money now, you could lose far more than that by trying to do this on your own and getting Facebook ads wrong.
I've lost tens of thousands of pounds doing things wrong over the years. In a single weekend I lost over £3,000 just because I didn't know how to do something!
I think a lot of people don't realise how much money you can actually lose if you don't know what you are doing when it comes to Facebook ads.
Roll on to today and I've now spent over £250,000 on Facebook ads and all the knowledge I've acquired after spending that much is now in the academy.
Do you think that knowledge and guidance is worth $397 if it stops you making the same mistakes I did, saving you thousands of dollars in the process?

How do you calculate your Breakeven ROAS??
Its worked out as the sale price divided by the sale price minus the cost price. The formula looks like this >> Sales / (Sales - Cost).
Im definitely guilty of trying to sell an old/saturated winning product. Quick question, do you mention long shipping times on your product pages or just on a shipping info page?
Just on my shipping page, I've never had it on the product page

I have a problem with difining my target audience. Although, when I started to create products (yes I create them) I realized that my target audience is people that like mems and movies. Am I on a right path? Isn't this audience too wide? Any suggestions? Thank you.
How do you know this is your target audience? Have you tested multiple audiences and used Facebook to create lookalike audiences based on people who have visited your product page etc.
@@ChrisWane I have not. The problem is that at the very beginnig I could not even guess what the target audience for my products would be. And now looking at the products I can just guess it. But I'm not really sure. And this is still a problem for me. Would appreciate any advice, thank you.

Hard to say exactly but from past experience you would be looking in the region of $30-$60 depending on the audience you targeted
