If you are going to do this for a living, you can't be embarrassed and I think you could have put the trunk in the bed of the truck if you had rearranged the 2 pieces of furniture.
it would've been dangerous to put it in the back of the bed since it was open and not room, it could've easily slid out from being stacked and exposed.

That dresser that has no draws in it, you could've made it into a tv stand with open storage,or add baskets
The rugs , you can use a wet vacuum and put baking soda on it to absorb the moisture and amy smells.

For years I fixed up good furniture thrown out and sold it. Watch some yt vids about wood gluing and uphoster cleaning, it will help. Good luck !😊

You should have stood the dresser upright and strapped it down. That would have created the room you needed for the trunk.,
