  • Wrestling this behemoth through the narrow streets of London everyday, I would not swap this for public transport!.

Good filtering skills billy. I’ve gone into London on mine admittedly only a few times but they filter handle brilliantly for the size you would think they would be a handful but with the cog being so low it’s a dream. My only downside to my bike is manoeuvring it around into my garage. Ride safe look forward to the full review.

Cheers Ian, yeah not bad hey! 😂 i was pleasantly surprised at how agile it is, i thought it might handle like giant haystacks on a pair of roller skates, thankfully, i was wrong.

I've always found they feel like the engine is swinging in a hammock which lets you pendulum it from side to side. Makes sense when you realise you're riding hanging from the tops of the wheels not pushing down through the lower spokes as most people presume. The tops of the wheels are higher than the top of the boxer engine. Most other bikes have their weight above the tops of the wheels. The time I noticed this most was on a Yamaha Tenere 700. It was in theory 40kg lighter than a GS, but felt heavier in motion, especially in turns.

Never been on a tenere, but that is an interesting point, how much the layout of a bike plays a part in its handling. Glad i didn’t get Tenere now 😂… lovely bike though. Thanks for the comment, much appreciated.

Nice one Billy, I for one love filtering, one aspect of the Tractor you didn't mention but I would have thought made a difference when filtering is the telelever suspension (assuming this model of Tractor has it, but I'm not knowledgable abut the GS). Have you noticed the diference the suspension makes vs. the Tiger, no 'nose dive' when hauling on the brakes avoiding the suicidal pedestrians?

It does have it yes, that is a good point, the no diving definitely helps with dodgy pedestrians, though when filtering I’m always on the brakes anyway, so don’t really benefit from it in that situation.

Nice video Billy and I have to agree with you. But I'm too small to have attempted going around the back of the white car and the van mirrors just at handlebar height. I was once filtering down to the traffic lights between both lanes and a pedestrian came from between the offside lane, luckily I was ready but still pulled a stoppie.

Cheers John, yeah the pedestrian’s in London are absolutely mental, looking at phones… With headphones on, is a recipe for disaster. All i can is keep an eye out, stick to the speed limit, and put my spot lights on, im not giving anyone an excuse! 😂😬

It always comes down to that last mm anyway, even with a scooter. I commuted on a piaggio zip 50cc a few years, and l tell you it was like motogp between cars, but sometimes it just got to narrow. Smackt the mirror off a police car once, and l can tell you he was pissed😄😄😄

Well I have yet to hear anyone slag these bikes off and since they have been at the top of the tree for adventure bikes for so long speaks volumes maybe I c=should try one the only thing being they cost an arm and a leg 😋👍

You’re not wrong there mate, the old credit card took a pounding. Good re-sale value though!
