I stopped collecting right before Skyridge. Really wish I would have bought boxes when they were around $600. Almost bought one for $17,500 USD a few years back but family comes first. Maybe one day I'll be able to re-invest.

Do you ever think it's all a bit silly with the prices of some stuff? I get there are lots of factors at play and some stuff is genuinely rare, but a lot of vintage boxes and cards are obviously not that hard to get. I can't fathom how cards and boxes are going for more than most Rolex watches.
Thats just your own personal opinion buddy. Why dont you just respect their hobby instead of throwing the word "silly" around, Maybe i think its silly to buy/own a porsche cayman when i can just buy a Subaru Impreza for cheaper and better mileage.
Almost all packs are weighed do not ever trust a seller who says unweighed. Best bet is to spend the extra money and get a sleeved pack. They cost a decent amount more but it’s worth it for a fair fight

@@bdawrds7601 the things is at conventions with trusted vendors they may be telling the truth… but online like eBay and other places never trust loose packs. Sleeved is the way to go. It sucks because they cost a bunch more but well worth it if you ask me.
If tthey are loose, assume they are weighed, every time. There are sellers like TCA Gaming that open boxes and place the packs straight into tamper proof containers/bags, recording the whole thing so in the future there is a provenance. I'd only buy loose packs from something like that, unless I was looking to purchase a light pack.
I'm convinced that base set, jungle, fossil, rocket etc is still being printed somewhere at this point.
