I know Brooke and Thomas personally and I can tell you they are the real deal. They are truly amazing people and they want to help everyone heal by eating healthier. The easiest way for me is drinking the smoothies and you can adjust them to your liking. I am with Thomas, i like my smoothies a bit sweeter but try it your way. Make sure to use the 75% greens, 25% fruits and omega 3 (flaxseeds, chia seeds or/and walnuts). Happy smoothing everyone.

Fats are essential for optimal brain function. EPA and DHA are essential fatty acids, meaning they are needed to be consumed daily. EPA and DHA are naturally found in animal fats. ALA from plant fats can convert into EPA and DHA, but the conversion rate is less than 5%.
Obviously animal fats are necessary, just make sure you buy high-quality grass fed organic meats.

Fat is necessary for optimal brain function, that's why vegans come off as being mentally ill. Your brain is over 70% cholesterol, and EPA and DHA are essential fatty acids that are only found in animal fats. Your body can convert ALA from plants into EPA and DHA, but only about 5% converts.
So unless you want to eat pounds of flax and chia seeds everyday, you might want to eat some healthy organic grass fed meat and eggs.

Ghee is heat treated butter. While butter has beneficial saturated fatty acids (butyric acid is gut healing), turning it to ghee involves a heating process that oxidizes ldl cholesterol found in butter. Oxidized ldl cholesterol (why you should never cook meat at a high temperature) is highly oxidative.

There is very little correlation between consuming dietary fats and blood cholesterol. She is simply wrong about "animal fats" and coconut oil. Saturated fats influence the enzymes in a side chain of the Krebs with the effect being to lower ldl cholesterol by decreasing insulin. It also shifts synthesis of acetyl co a away from cholesterol to ketone bodies, used more effieciently as fuel for Kreb's than glucose, fewer free radicals, increased ATP and LESS inflammation, not more.

I don't agree with the coconut oil... If you're gonna put it on your skin, it's going into your body...so, what's the difference??? Your body/skin is your largest organ and your third kidney...I'm confused...

Melanie Glenn, me too. I think cold pressed organic coconut oil is healthy if not overused. Some doctors say body needs to create cholesterol and recommend it.

The natural products is a good way to start a life. Taking a pure coconut oil that doesn't through lots of purification process means u don't chance the oil chance in it. But of cos anything that we take need to be in a balance portion. Taking Omega 3 also can't be to much it will cause u headache.

She doesn't seem to know the important difference between plant omega-3s (short chain, not active in human health until converted to long chain n-3s in liver cells through an in-efficient enzyme system. why? because we evolved for at least 100k generations as hunter-gatherers and had an abundance of animal n-3s in our diet) and animal omega-3s. We need long chain n-3s in the cell membrane to put the brakes on arachadonic acid synthesis and influence n-6 to become anti-inflammatory conjugated linoleic acid.

She's a moron. The conversion rate from ALA into EPA and DHA is less than 5%, these are essential fatty acids. The brain is primarily composed of cholesterol, so to avoid it is absolutely idiotic.

The conversion enzymes are competitive. It is just amazing to me that anyone can consider themselves a "scientist" and ignore rule #1 in Biology, Natural Selection. Veganism defies rule #1.

John L. Haubrich well what matters is, whatever she is doing she is doing it right, she has help a lot of people, Doctors say that diabetes is the or high BP is the cause of kidney disease, not true, I develop kidney disease and heart disease by consuming a lot of animal fat, yes that is right, by eating a lot of meat ans dairy, now I am on dialysis, and after seven years on dialysis, I was getting very sick, and the only thing that has help me is fairh in my God and raw vegetables.

  • @MrRomucha

She has no clue what she is talking about. It is well documented that alpha lenolenic acid, which is the predominant fat in flax and chia seeds, are mainly used for energy and very little is converted to EPA, while none is converted to DHA. Thus, the notion that fat from these sources become part of our cells is based on thin air. Contrary to what she is pretending to be she is ignorant of nutrition, including fat nutrition.

wow, are you really teaching med student ? Scary. You should really learn more about coconut oil. There are cultures in the pacific rim that lived on this with no cardiovascular disease. Who cares about total cholesterol-- HDL and triglycerides are what matter. Also omega 6 is essential to life, but the ratio of omega 6/omega 3 is critical . it really needs to be around 1:1 . grass fed and finished beef has this ratio.

Poorly done, poor understanding of the importance of where n-6 fatty acids come from and the role they play in human health. We only utilize long chain n-3 fatty acids, they can be synthesized from short chain n-3 fatty acids, but this is inefficient. The best source of long chain n-3 fatty acids comes from free range, grass-fed animals, fowl, eggs, fish, etc. Much of the meat eaten in North America comes from feedlot animal, this puts an abnormally high level of long chain n-6 fatty acid in the cell membrane of feedlot animal as well as very low levels of long chain n-3 fatty acids. Anyone pushing a vegan agenda is ignoring the obvious effects of natural selection on homo sapiens.
