Im from Utah also, and a fellow Uber driver! I also have a RUclips channel with a different niche, but 700 subs. I'm so glad to see other Utahans following the RUclips dream, it's encouraging.
I think $200 daily is a great goal. Not happening for me because I don't want to haul people around and I don't want to go shopping for anyone. I simply want to pick up the goods and deliver it contactless. So I am looking into courier jobs.
I can concur. A great night of tips that $200 can be hit in around 7.5-8.5 hrs. A garbage night of entitled customers with minimum tips, usually pushes that to around 8.5-9.5 hrs.
I drove on a Saturday morning. I made over $100 from 5am to 9am. It was great. This past Friday night I drove in the downtown area of Nashville, and I'm going to avoid doing that from now on due to traffic right in the center, had three riders cancel. So I'm going to keep to the edges of the city. I would also prefer to have a lot of small offers, in quick succession that are close. If I need to stop for fuel, or a toilet break or dinner I try and find a long drive, about 10 miles so it gets me to where a lot of gas stations and restaurants are.
for the air freshener, just make sure its not too strong, I really dislike getting in an uber or lyft and the smell is too strong. Also i will lower my tip as a rider when the car is dirty, and probably give 4 stars. I personally don't think there is much of an excuse for it, unless the previous rider had muddy shoes or something. Take 15 minutes to freshen up your car and vacuum it at the start of your shift, and then every once in a while when you've given a bunch of rides, I've been on military orders for almost a year without my car so i've been a rider more then a driver lately. Increasing your tip-a-bility is such an easy way to increase your income.
Yessir, if it happens to you, try advising the driver that it's too strong, the best spot to put air freshener is under the seats. It masks the heavy smell and makes it subtle.
I just drive on my days off (Sunday and Monday mornings) and I’m usually done by 1 pm. It’s too hot in Vegas to be driving after that time. I might get back out there after sunset but it’s still 106 degrees and sitting in traffic burning gas just destroys your profit.
I’ve done all short rides in my area. I pay attention to the minutes and miles but I definitely wanna try long distance and once I get my placards then I’m going to try the airport
I hit $200 by 9am. Start 4am there is always people going to the airport at that time. Get to the airport, be at next spot around 5am get another one to the airport. Then small trips people going to work. By 9am you are at 9am. Take a break do some stuff, take a nap. Start again around 3pm people leaving work or luck you will get another airport trip. End the day with $300+. Happens to me.
LOL dude, come to Vero Beach, FL & start working at 6am. I can 100% guarantee you will not hit $100 by 9am. Small town, no major airport, no train station. No surges, no extra anything.
Well of course if you are in the middle of nowhere type of place, earnings will drastically vary lol but generally speaking there is shit ton of money in most locations.
Play Jazz constantly, take comfort only!!!!! Stay in the good neighborhoods and be well educated. I make 100 before 9am constantly. Today I made 90 in 3 hours cause I started at 8am. Been done but its hard to go out while the traffic is horrible.
Are you driving a Tesla too or you're talking about a gas car? $100 in 3 hours constantly is very nice. I work from home and I can't sit here till bed time so I plan to drive for like 4-6 hours a day after work and 10+hours on my days off. Perks of being single and no social life lol
Good strategy. I like driving in the 6-10am spot in weekends. Way less traffic. Get back to back rides quicker. Airport runs to downtown and back are clutch. Also get out and put the passengers bag in your trunk. Make you more personable and you usually get a tip 2-5 is key also but mostly short low pay And never take a trip under $5 and no shared.
Good advice where you are. But here in Australia on the Gold coast I can easy make $100 in a hour on Uber eats . If I want to multi app I can do $200 from 5am until 10am or overnighters are good weekends Saturdays 10pm 6am $350- $400 depends howyour market is and use common sense . Long distance rides are the least profitable rides. Any driver can do. The rides start off being underpaid and then you are traveling back empty-handed and have to replace all of that gas and time. I’m guessing you don’t drive?

As an Uber driver living in Spartanburg SC. It's worth mentioning that to make the $100 in 3 hrs. You have to live in a major city like ATL, LA & NY. Also, I like to mention. Long runs for example. Spartanburg SC to Charlotte NC Airport 69 Miles Uber only pays $48 and then because it's across the border, you will come back empty. $48 for 138 miles. Yeah, not worth it. One last thing, don't take "Trip Radar" runs from Uber. Its garbage !!!
These tips are very market dependent. In Denver, accepting long rides and staying "Around the airport" is terrible advice. Long rides are almost guaranteed to drop you in a dead zone, Denver has some really terrible suburbs for rideshare. The airport is 30-40 minutes depending on traffic out in the literal middle of no where. It's a really great looking rate, but then your only option is to get into the airport queue. And if you're not uber diamond, get ready to sit anywhere from 30 minutes to 2 hours waiting for a 12 dollar fare. Once you factor that in, the really great rate on the trip out there suddenly isn't that great. I've experienced both extremes, and after trying to make it work because so many youtube videos insist airports are great options, I've stopped taking them. If you're driving Uber, and Diamond tier is an option, the priority queue access might make airport rides viable. But otherwise, they are a pretty risky trap.
