Hi, David! It was nice to receive the notification for a new video of yours. I have not been practicing over the last year, but I want to get back to digital painting using Krita some time in the future. With your commitment to libre and open source software and your great artistic style, your tutorials and videos have always been inspiring and instructive. I will certainly come back to your excellent videos once I take up this hobby again. Thank you for all the great videos. Cheers from Brazil!
This is a really great review! I loved how you showed the heat, color and pressure sensitivity tests. It's something that's very hard to find in reviews here on RUclips. Great work, congrats and thanks for the great content!
Thank you! Yes, it's a bit of a heartbreak thing to do on a new device, but I thought it's useful to finally know how resistant these things really are. And worst case scenario for me: I could scratch a tiny corner. Fun fact: this scene I filmed was out of focus, so I had to do it a second time; that's probably why on the final shot I use the keys/cutter knife/etc... stronger, because I'm already confident with the result.
Haha, mad respect for that. I know you didn't buy it yourself but it's still something you intend to use. Now we all know the screen is indeed safe from pen tip scratches. 😁👌
Fantastic review. I'm still using XP-Pen Artist Pro 24 inch with the 20 express keys and dials. I wish they would update this in 4k with the buttons and dials but alas it seems not to be.
Thanks! Oh yes, I have also this model; I love how the hand can wrap around the frame and the tickness of the frame and buttons. It feels good while drawing. It looks like nowaday the trend is to remove all buttons and putting in the box the keydial/remote for everything. The end of an era of physical buttons.

Hi David, it's been a while since you posted a video. Glad you are doing well and making art using FOSS. Besides the Tablet you presented in this video, which I can't afford right now but it's definitely worth to consider, is there any change in your Linux setup? I recall the last article in the Linux section of your website was about Debian 12 with KDE Plasma desktop environment.
Hey, thank you, everything is fine and sorry for the low production of video content. I sort of get disgusted by clickbait titles and AIgen thumbnails on RUclips for a long period, but it looks like this type of trend of "The truth about...." Hey, thank you! Yes, it's exactly the same manipulation of the buttons, but the result (OSD) menu is different. The tablet also starts in a "test mode" for the logo. I discovered it a bit late after my video on the 16. It was reported later on the blog post of the 16. Also, maybe next time ask if XP would consider expanding your discount code usage to worldwide, as I would have preferred to use yours. (I'm in Canada.)

Also, I asked for world wide offer, but all I could get was this 5 or 6 links (still better than the original single link I had). Oh! Hi, David! I wonder if it would be possible to use an U-Shape (180 degree) or even L-Shape (90 degree) USB-C adapter to get rid of the "ugly" cable on top. Unsure if any USB-C fits XP-Pen's slot or they have proprietary one (some have weird indents and such). Obviously it would have to be one with 4k+ Res at 60Hz passthrough with both data and power transfer, but they are quite cheap. Using such adapter would lead the slot downwards or beneath the screen. In case of U-Shape one, it would have to be wide enough to fit the display thickness. Only downside is that you wouldn't be able to lay the screen flat on the desk with it but nobody does that anyway. 😄
Hey, Yes, it would need a beefy USB-C cable, but maybe a Female to Male one, to extend this cable (because it is a 2 in one cable, and even a 3 in one cable: power supply, USB, and HDMI and it's connected to the hub that split cables without a plug).
Yes, I meant female to male adapter/extension. There are ones with both data and power transfer so it should work, but never seen anyone do it yet. I noticed everyone is complaining about the look of the cable so I'm wondering how nobody tried that cosmetic fix. 😀 U-shape would barely be visible on the top and the cable would connect behind the screen.

did you make sure to plug it into a power outlet? I have the 14 and 19 and for the screen to be at its brightest, you need to connect it to an additional power source along with using the usb c data cable

youre alive?
He has written blog posts recently.
Oh yes, very much so and very active on my blog and Mastodon (and also Instagram), but I admit I'm not active on RUclips for content.
I'm also using my channel as a "video hosting" for my blog post and not really a social media in itself where poeple follow only the videos. I'm probably wrong about modern usage.
I was away from video editing a bit because mainly disgusted by the trend of big click bait title ("the truth about...."), thumbnails with shocked emotion face in big, or thumbnail with AI art. This, plus the Shorts made me feel like the platform was looking more and more like TikTok.
But now I feel more and more "this like that now" and accept it. I'll try to post more soon. Thanks for the message!

Probably a nice review 😂
