I'm a former touring artist and composer. I've written over 110 songs with around 40 recorded by other artists. I've been playing piano, drums, guitar and horns for over 40 years and a couple of my songs made the Top 100. Foxes and Fossills is not just good, they are truly amazing. Arrangements are outstanding. Playing is stunning. Vocals are as tight as any band I've ever seen. These guys are truly special and one of the best bands to ever perform pop tunes.
You are absolutely correct! I have listened to many, many groups over my many, many years, and they are without a doubt, steller in vocals and instrumentation. My wife and I could listen to so many other bands on RUclips, and do now and again, but always seem to come back to this group much more often.............that say's something.

@@lynwessel2471 That date cannot get here fast enough. I can't put my finger on it, but for some reason this group has something very magical about it. I really hope that they consider another concert at the same venue, possibly this summer. It seems as though it would be a much easier operation since they have already have done the first one and there is hardly any learning curve at that point. I most certainly will be there, and we are 3200 miles away! Anyway, thank you for keeping folks informed on this incredibly band.........They are a very special and incredibly talented group.

I'm a 10cc fan from way back. This track came on by chance, in the background; I wasn't watching the computer screen. I honestly thought it WAS 10cc and was very surprised to see that it was the excellent F&F!

As a career musician for more than 50 years, I can honestly say I have NEVER heard ANY band cover 10cc. This was completely outta left field! WOW! F&F can do no wrong! I have run out of superlatives describing this group. Much respect.

Absolutely brilliant , I’m a huge fan of 10cc but this is so good .👏
That was amazing - the harmonies are fantastic and there is a moment at around 2:37 but listen from 2:32 to hear it build - that sound is just a glorious by the backing singers.
Tim can still sing anything -- really well! And the arrangement and the harmonies are magnificent.

What blows me away is that Tim ends up with a tremendous mix despite the fact that the background vocals are all on the same mic! Natural blend because he can’t do much to balance it in post.
Vocal tracks are recorded separately and mixed, then they sing along to make the video.

According to Tim,he has always worked out his arrangements by recording himself singing all of the vocal parts. With Chase back in Atlanta she has been helping him some. She can sing everything but the lower half of bass.

The F&F version of "Love Is The Answer" is one of the best performances I've ever heard by anyone. They are as magical as a certain group I first heard in my home town of Liverpool sixty years ago. Yes, that good.
I agree, it's my favourite too. It's a masterful bit of production, the way Tim builds the song into a climax. Not dynamics, that's just volume. But the mood, the level of excitement ebbs and flows like in a well-written story. Far better than any treatment by 'name' groups. It's world class, IMO.
..and of course, Chase Truran is simply superb on that cut.

It’s been a mixed week. New granddaughter born (6th grandchild) so unmitigated joy that she and mother are both well. That was the sun in an otherwise bad week. Everyone gets those and, after all these years, they still affect me. Doing some dusting this morning, I decided to put on some music really as background. Up cp DS this song plus Carry On plus Love is the Answer. The cloud, the black dog, has lifted a bit. Thank you F&F

This version is breathtaking. WOW. You people never fail to stun me.
Some of the negative comments derive from the song not being a favorite back when it came out. I don't think that's a bug, rather a feature. It's a complex song. It has a very unusual chord progression, five key changes, and a couple of full stops. It's hard to whistle, you can't dance to it, and almost impossible to sing either solo or with a group. But that's what makes it so wonderful! F&F takes on the tough songs, and shows everyone how it's done!

I am absolutely not, and never was, a 10cc fan. Once again, though, F&F takes a less-than-spectacular song, upcycles it and makes it their own. And the result is just plain awesome.
One of my favorite examples of this is Sammie absolutely crushing "Hip to my Heart" -- a song so silly that only Sammie could get me to pay attention, probably a hundred times by now.
I was and am a fan of 10cc. It was highly produced, highly inventive pop music. In its genre of studio music, I thought it ranks amongst the best.
Covers are difficult to assess. Are you looking at how well the group imitates the original? Are you looking for a different interpretation? It’s very personal. And speaking personally, I thought that the F&F version of “Love is the answer” better than the original. “Telling me lies” better than the original ( i am now condemned to hell for suggesting that anyone could beat Linda Ronstadt at anything). This song however; it is slightly different from 10cc; a bit less smooth (produced?) and I don’t know if it beats the original or not.
My favourite 10cc track is “Mandy fly me”. Not just the song but the associations I have with it from who I was with at the time it was released.
Graeme Gouldman from 10cc is, for me, one of the least known song writing heroes. One of his earliest songs was bought by the Hollies and became the superlative “Bus Stop”. If you listen to the lyrics of each song, the words aren’t there to fill a space or to rhyme with the previous lines. They are crafted to mean something; something funny but mostLy something meaningful. Great work.

Actually guys I’ve heard it claimed this was their biggest hit. Can’t see it myself. It always surprises me. At least that what I heard said in a documentary on them by the BBC in 2015. But maybe that was based on records sold rather than wide success and recognition. For that I’m Not In Love wins hands down
Mind you I prefer the tracks like I’m Mandy Fly Me and Wall Street Shuffle. Sheet Music is one of my all time top 3 albums

Anyone who has ANYTHING negative to say about his band is just a hater and jerk! I mean….C’mon!
The way Tim takes these songs apart and puts them back together again is masterful. Most people this would take days to get right but these guys are such pros it was most likely all done in a couple of hours.
Tim did 2 videos on Patreon showing what's involved in arranging and recording.Took 25 minutes just to show the basics of what's involved. Meticulous work with individual performers perfecting an arrangement track by track. Record 8 people individually multiple takes , including Tim and Darwin usually doing several different things Then there's all the editing work to put it all together and mix it properly. Then recording video. Then the video editing and match the music to all the video shots. These are built sometimes over months depending on when people are available to record. Im sure it helps a lot to have Sam and Chase back living in Atlanta now. Always a number of songs in some phase of production. Otherwise it would be easy to crank out more than one per month. This level of quality takes some time.
i can only imagine the amount of work it is but on the plus side you dont have many redos with this kind of talent.

Great cover. I always appreciated 10CC songwriter Graham Gouldman for coming up with 2 of the Yardbirds big hits in For Your Love and Heart Full of Soul.
Not to mention 'Bus Stop' for The Hollies and 'No Milk Today' For Herman's Hermits...

@@dandydon6049 I agree the HSCC are very good, but after listening to many of their songs, I don't feel the girls vocal are at the same level of the girls here. They are good, very good, but not exceptional as the F&F girls.

They could sing the phone book and I wouldn't get bored.
We used to cover this with my band in the 1980’s and I can tell you it’s really tough. Having the ladies for backing vocals is a big help though. Top job we never got close to perfection and this is there in my opinion.
I have seen 10cc many times (in all the formats) and can honestly say this is truly a great cover. Please do I’m not in love.

Hardly, the songs are built over months as members have time to record. Thats the reason for so many separate video shots.( and singing/playing multiple tracks ) Tim usually has about 5 songs at some stage of development at once. A lot of work, but yes the result is fantastic.

What I love about your group ….is the attention to detail in all your covers. This 10cc tune(big 10cc fan) …what I’ve always loved about(besides the incredible lyric writing and tight harmonies) was the vocal outro when Eric Stewart would do the call and response with “…the things we do for love..”, the back ground guys (if I’m not mistaken, Godley and Creme had left the group already)would respond with “oh-oh” and “yeh-eh”

I saw 10cc live in London, June 1977 (I was 20), and was mad about their music. This cover is perfect. I must agree with other comments: 10cc is hardly covered, maybe it's because it's not easy... I love F & F, greetings from Portugal.
