Always interested to see bonsai from unusual species. I've got a Portuguese laurel I've been working on for the last 2 years. Never seen anyone else use that tree for bonsai either. Nice one 😁
I have to say, for most of the video you had the initial movement going to the right, then left. At the end it was reversed and the tree looked SOOO much more exciting! Just me? My favourite tree in general, is probably a JM, but favourite ever is one of The Aussie Bonsai Bloke's: his wisteria. Next on the list is Nigel Sunder's larch forest. Not that I have any success with either species!! Of my own trees, it is a radiata pine forest but more for the memory and inspiration, that the tree itself. But of course, it changes according to the season and what I am working on/watching at the time!!
Hi Rebecca I have to say first thanks for the comment! Second my tree favourite changes all time with the seasons. I will have to check out Sam's Wisteria too. I am also fond of the Radiata pines and have a video series coming out very soon on one.
Fave tree to bonsai or fave Freestyler video? Same same? 😂Probably Chinese Elm, so vigorous, impossible to kill, root from cuttings etc. I dig the experimentation, it's what I enjoy about the learning process too. Keep up the good work!
Great vid, im currently doing a twisted hazel and the leaves are big , i dont know if ill ever to get them to reduce , ah well, my favourite tree to bonsai is larch, just a joy (for me) , to work on , i dont have any to nigel saunders level (im about 18 months in now), but i get a lot of pleasure from working on them. Mat.
