Jen, I can’t tell you how much I enjoyed making this hat! I would never have tried it if not for your tutorial. I’m 75 yrs old and trying to re-learn crochet - I never got past novice 50 yrs ago. I used what I had handy which was 4 weight and one color. I love it!

Love this stitch. Jayda did a pumpkin using this stitch using the back loops of the single stitch. Love the hat and will be making for my grand daughters.

Thank you Jennifer for this tutorial. The Blue Mesa hat is on my list to make basicly because I love blue and the texture pulled me in. The roaring 20's comes to mind when I first saw it but the mixture of colors takes away from the ones they used to wear. Love it, thanks again. One question, could this hat be made out of a four weight yarn and still look as great. And what size hook?

Why is it that crochet ribbing doesn't seem too hold up as well as knitted ribbing. It seems too stretch out quicker ??

I think everyone has been having one or two of "those" days.... lots of majorly frustrating things going on. Most of them eventually turned out ok although I dropped and broke my one remaining perfect sized cereal bowl that must be at least 40 years old. Fortunately I'd eaten my breakfast and Scarlett had finished the milk.
The hat looks cosy but my first thought was tea cosy.... not hat... sorry....
