Can’t wait to try this hat Clare,love all your videos/tutorials..as i live in Bendigo just a short walk to the Mill i have only ever used their cottons,and wools,they have great colours , excellent value for money and they wash and wear extremely well, i have never found it splits and they have all yarn weights 🇦🇺
Hi Clare. This is a great hat! I use all sorts of cotton, from Lilly’s Sugar & Cream, Peaches & Cream for kitchen items to Hobby Lobby and Lionbrand cottons. It all depends on the project I guess. Thank you for this wonderful tutorial!❤
Aloha Clare, depending on the project I love the hobby lobby I love this cotton. And Sugar and cream. But I don’t like to stay with just those two. lol
I’m coming here while at the laundromat. My washing machine decided to not work. 😏. I am crocheting here and watching you. 😊. Hope you have a happy day.
Hi there Clare 🎉 ,I live in Ontario Canada in town called Forest , I luv to crochet with tutorial but I have to slow down the speed to keep up , thank you for sharing your talents 😊
@Ysajia hmm 🤔, good question. You could try another round of no increasing (instructions for round 2 of the brim) but I am unsure if it will lay flat like you need it to or start to curl up. If it does start to curl up, you can add another increase round (instructions for round 1 of the brim)
Hi Bob Wilson, thanks for sharing your talents with me and I have a question about the calculated measurement for the circumference head size. Why did you use 314 to measure? I understood everything but that thanks.
It’s not just the granny stitch that’s referred to as a stitch even though it’s actually a stitch pattern. V-stitch. Picot stitch, cluster stitch, puff stitch. It’s just understood that we’re referring to a stitch pattern or a stitch combination.
She said use the size hook that the yarn recommends on the packaging. She is using 5 mm H hook. I looked at the hook when she was talking about the supplies you needed
@born2cre8boutique hello, are you able to share a photo in our Crochet with Clare Facebook group? m.facebook.com/groups/crochetwithclare/?ref=share&mibextid=NSMWBT
@CrochetwithClare exactly, I don't have to think about it, all I need to know is what stitch and I can tell by looking if it's a UK treble I know it's a US double, wraps around the hook is a dead giveaway no matter what terms.

@theastewart6721 thank you, I gave the Lillys sugar and cream a go and made a video of course lol. I am editing it today for Sundays release.
That’s great Clare! Looking forward to it! I think the Lilly’s is a good choice because it’s a bit stiffer than some of the other cottons. ❤️

@lindacallahan8234 thank you so much 💓 I do have a granny square I released a couple of weeks ago too.
Wow 🤩
thank you so much.

Beautiful!
That might be some kind of electrical tape. I like that this starts with a granny square.
Yes, it make the hat much easier to make
Is Gorgeous!
thank you so much!
I love the pattern. How can the brim be made wider?
@Ysajia hmm 🤔, good question.
You could try another round of no increasing (instructions for round 2 of the brim) but I am unsure if it will lay flat like you need it to or start to curl up.
If it does start to curl up, you can add another increase round (instructions for round 1 of the brim)
Lion brand coboo cotton yarn.
Thank you so much for the suggestion, I will keep my eye out at my local shop.
I call them just granny squares XD But this will be something new I must try!

Clare do you think weedeater cord work instead of the wire around the brim
@bubba6381 that's sounds like a great idea, just make sure you can't kink the cord. Let me know how you go.
I come from Germany. I call the stitch double crochet. In german = Stäbchen 😅

@nozibelemay3244 thank you!
Could you use blanket yarn, so the hat can be worn in the spring and fall? I am in Edmonton, Canada.
hello, I am sure you could, let me know how it goes, it would be really cosy to wear.

Good morning Clare. I didn't hear what size crochet hook you are using. Could you tell me please so I can start my bucket hat?
She said use the size hook that the yarn recommends on the packaging. She is using 5 mm H hook. I looked at the hook when she was talking about the supplies you needed

Nylon or plastic boning, would also do same as wire and be lighter.
@CryMeA_River8710 that's a fantastic idea!
I'm fluent in both stitch terminologies, it's not that hard to remember them both.
I'm in Oklahoma USA
@RealMelodyBlue agreed, it really comes in handy too, because it means we can follow more patterns.
@CrochetwithClare exactly, I don't have to think about it, all I need to know is what stitch and I can tell by looking if it's a UK treble I know it's a US double, wraps around the hook is a dead giveaway no matter what terms.
Why dont you continue up to the end..
