As a 14 year old on acid who attended this show at the "brawl room" in Chicago, looking into this mans face as he sang those lyrics was mind bending, soul twisting, and eye opening. His contribution to the genre can only really Be appreciated by the few. When you identify yourself as a king diamond fan to someone it's like you both know a secret handshake.

King Diamond and his other band Mercyful Fate were precursors to Black Metal and were most definitely part of the first wave movement (more so Mercyful Fate), along with Venom, Celtic Frost/ Hellhammer and Bathory

Must have been insanely exiting. Had my same with alice cooper and Iron Maiden in the early 80's. Those shows will stay with you forever!
