I own a TYM 254 and I love the thing. For what I need and use it for its a perfect size. I think TYM is going to do real well as time goes on. They are well built and dependable.
This is a lot of sophistication for an open cab tractor! This dealership is huge! Looking at the aerial view at 13:14, it seems they sell different "colors"! Keep safe my friend! Thanks!
Tony's Tractor Adventure Yea I’m sure it would be fine. The cruise control they have now would work well. I would be more worried about the weed burner exhaust throwing chaff and plugging the grill I think. I pull double hydraulic hay rakes with my 754 at about 1700 RPM and I love it for a rake tractor.

Great video Tony, I’m currently in the market for a new tractor in this size. You just put Tym on my radar. The Branson 5520 is in the lead but will drop by my local TYM dealer soon to take a look and get a price.
TYM owns Branson. Both use the same Kukje engine that TYM owns as well. I think TYM is the better price point and they both make good tractors. Many Branson dealers will tell you something different, but this is well published in the financial world.
Great video Tony. I test drove a T574 and T454 back to back recently and noticed two things I think others could benefit from knowing. The 574 felt like it had less power despite the spec sheet. I assume the Yanmar makes more torque 🤷♂️. I also noticed that the hydraulics on both were unusually slow. So i dug into the specs and compared them to other tractors and noticed the hydraulic flow is lower than others and especially so in the 574. I also looked at cycle times on the TYM site and the bucket takes 5 seconds to dump! Otherwise I liked both tractors.
The hydraulic speed is based upon the flow rate and the size of the cylinders. TYM puts on bigger cylinders which require more fluid. TYM has generally close to the average flow rate, but due to the larger cylinders it slows the loader down.
Me too. I don't have anything big enough for that tractor. I may get a T474 for our other property at some point, but a subcompact is my favorite size tractor. Little work horses
I have the RK 37S which basically is a TYM and yes they are built like tanks. Looked at a lot of other brands before I purchased and they didn't seem to be built as robust as the RK / TYM. I then did a little research on TYM and found they've been in business for 70 years and are considered to be at the top of the heap for manufacturing and technology worldwide. They obviously are doing something right.
Talked to a guy who owns a 574 and he said - the low-high range selector, it started out by just popping out of low range. Wasn’t a big deal. I would just put back in gear. Now, if I do put it in low range, it takes about 10 minutes to get it back in high range. It will stay stuck in low or neutral
Sound like operator error and he would have problems with any brand. So many people try to change ranges while holding the brake. So many first time tractor buyer out there. Another video opportunity. "How to not bind your transfer"
Thank you. There are barely any videos of this product. I wld love to see a TYM T554 vs T574 side by side comparison. Also wld love to see backhoe for this model.
I would like to see that comparison as well. T554 vs T574. I think we'd find they are closely related. For me, I don't care about a backhoe. Backhoes work the same way on all tractors if it's matched to the tractor.
Are the 8 speed shuttle shift transmissions on the T574 and T494 so bad that no body does a review on them. Everyone buys the HST. Would like to know how the ratio is from gear to gear and see if it shifts smoothly.
It has nothing to do with this brand. 80% of tractor buyers are first time buyers. HST is reliable and easier to learn. Shuttle shift in every brand under 60hp is dramatically down. Shuttle shift doesn't start showing up until hay tractors and most of them are electronic shuttle shift which is just about as easy as HST. I am an old tractor guy, and I went HST. It is better for loader work. I have driven the T574 shuttle and it is fine. It is just a shuttle shift. Nothing more or less.
@@TonysTractorAdventure You represent TYM pretty good. How come you haven't done a review on the 8 speed shuttle shift. I'm old school too. You can't kill a gear drive. Would like to know if TYM has fixed the old problem of the ratio difference between 4th low and 1st high. Are they close together or are they far apart like the older tractors. Every time 4th low was to slow 1st high was too fast. HST is ok but it's a pain to keep your foot on the pedal all the time.. Plus I have seen people do the trans, oil change on the HST and there is metal on the magnetic plug. Makes me wonder if I want to own one
Just wonder how they handle the DPF blocking valve with a turbo? What are those lights on each lower side of the hood? They don't have a screen in front of the radiator?
The lights by the hood show close in stuff to the front and side. I am not sure on DPF. Yes it has a screen in front of the radiator. I show pulling the screen out in the video. LOL.
They don't regen very often if you are running at high RPMs. Many people are getting 400 hours without a full regen. At the beginning of the day or end. Just push the Regen button down. It will rev up and go through its cycle. Most times it takes about 15 mins. That is if you want to do it. Like I said, it keeps itself clean if you run at high RPMs.
@@TonysTractorAdventure I have 24 hrs on mine. MIL and regen symbol came on dash. I reset the dpf by turning key to on and push regen button x10 sec, then key off and back on, push regen 3x in 5 sec. all seems ok now but my dealer was MIA so I had to read forums to reset it.
TYM could improve the steering, I have this tractor in Shuttle with a load in the bucket this tractor does not like to turn . There definitely is room for improvement with the steering.
Wrong my friend. TYM and several other brands have a separate pump just for power steering. Most TYM tractors have a separate pump just for implements, attachments, and rear remotes.
It depends on the model. My recommendation is to ask if the transmission is aluminum or cast iron. Metal fenders crush and composite fenders flex or break, but neither stops the tractor from working.TYM has cast iron transmission.
I put red dye in mine. If you put the full eight gallons in, you are over full. I had my wife watch the window as I poured oil in. It is easy to see once it is half way in the glass. Dip sticks are easier, but did you know most transmission contaminates enter through the dip stick hole. I am a 30 year retired Army Maintenance Officer. I went to so many schools, it makes my head hurt. This was a nugget I picked up when I went to a school for Allison transmissions. It makes sense, but the dipstick is still easier to use.

I was shooting from the him. The tractor weight is over 4K dry. Each rear tire can hold 1000 pounds of Rim Guard. Then the loader. Add the cab . Then load the front tires, it is pushing 8k.
Are there any kukje engines with over 3,000 hours? Guys online saying running them at 1500-2000 RPM theyre fine but 2500-3000 RPM and they will break a rod.
There are engines out there by Kukje with thousands of hours. They were in Branson Tractors first and then TYM bought Kukje and Branson. The engines are rated at 2600 RPM so if someone's engine failed at 3k, that makes sense. I have talked with at least 20 dealerships and hundreds of real owners. I have never heard of any engine throwing a rod. Don't get me wrong, it will happen, but not anymore than a John Deere, Kubota, etc. They are good Tractors from the ones I have used.
